Fort Lincoln is a world within a world. Very beautiful cemetery. If you go to the hill of the cemetery, you can overlook the cemetery and more and see just how beautiful it is. Just a few months ago, I visited a friend of mines who is interred at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. I also have another friend and some family interred at Fort Lincoln Cemetery.

Very nice, although I left Monticello at an early age there was a few names that I recognized. I was on the track team at my high school (Eastside Gainesville) and briefly at UF. Terry LeCount and Winfred Alexander were teammates at UF. I was the long jumper and triple jumper on that team.

it’s very good to hear how he made such an impact on many lives and how he was such a caring and considerate person. from the way they describe him it’s really good how he carries himself and lived a good life and he’s obviously a good person based on the things that are said about him he also raised his daughter to be a nice respectful woman which is very good. he was a very committed person, he was also very religious, and took church & christianity very serious mr. Cox was very big on a lot of things like education which is why his daughter is very successful in it like he also was -JF

The conversation was a great reminder that we have a rich history in Jefferson County. The passion for teaching has shifted from that Era, and our children would suffer from the absence of a nurturing and honest village.

It sound like everyone there had a good school experience and it sound like not only was it a school but it was a big school family. Hearing about the school and the good times there it seemed like Mr cox was always there for anyone even outside of school. Just because it was segregated doesn’t mean you couldn’t make a joy out of the school year in some cases that’s very challenging from a personal standpoint but its awesome that they got through it. -S.W
