What’s your axle ratio? How do the larger tires affect the ride?
@RideTheEarthnow
@RideTheEarthnow 22 күн бұрын
Hey, I have an L9 acle code which is the electronic locking diff with 3.55 ratio. i feel the larger tires smooth the ride out a bit more. I prefer a 17" wheel so I get a nice meaty side wall on the tire. No noticeable power loss either. i can easily spin the tires if I wanted to. i am sure if i raced someone with smaller tires they would be faster but that isnt what this vehicle is for me. I have the STI for that.

Me and my pops accidentally stumbled into real world power comparison exercise with our F150s. I needed to rent a tow behind lift to take down a tree. It was the biggest tow behind the equipment rental place had so we used my new 3.5 ecoboost f150. We could tell we were towing but the truck never struggled in the slightest. I got the lift into a position I could not get it hooked back up to my truck because it is lifted, so we used my pops f150 with the 5.0 The 5.0 felt like it was dragging a titanic ship anchor. We could not believe the difference between the 2. My dad is now in the market for a new 3.5 ecoboost f150.

In low gear or high? And if I was ripping 450 sportsman what range? And I thought about epi clutch kit for mud i wonder if still be okay for snow
@RideTheEarthnow
@RideTheEarthnow 2 ай бұрын
@@nickstone1905 I was in a mix of both high and low, mostly high. For the 450 really judge it on how the machine is behaving, if you are bogging out in high, pop it into low to get the low end you need. If it is reving too high in low, go high. I would say for thick mud situations you will probably want low. I am sure the epi will work well in both situations , I can’t really say as I haven’t ever done a clutch kit.

How different does the truck drive/handle with 35’s on 17’s
@RideTheEarthnow
@RideTheEarthnow 4 ай бұрын
@@jamesc6137 I personally like the way it drives. Feels better, more planted and solid. No notice of any acceleration or power loss, only down side is you lose some MPGs. But I don’t drive a truck for good mpg’s ha ha ha. In my opinion 35’s are the way to go. I also like a smaller 17” wheel so you have more rubber to soak up bumps and chatter. Also if you do any offroading, you can air down and get more out of the bigger sidewalls that way too.

Hi! Great video! Do you think a RAM Lonestar 1500 can haul this fairly well?
@RideTheEarthnow
@RideTheEarthnow 5 ай бұрын
From an engine stand point, yes i dont see why not. I assume you have a V8 in there? the one main thing that is very important with our 1500 trucks is the payload. Check your payload. i believe the trailer is 660 tung weight so take that right off your payload, then your gear and your people. it adds up quick. that is why i got rid of one of my F150's the payload was really low compared to this one which is 1900lbs. long story short. v8 ram engine yes, just check you have a decent amount of payload.

@RideTheEarthnow
@RideTheEarthnow 5 ай бұрын
@@upnorthlivin814 I did, unfortunately I didn’t do an install video for them. They were pretty easy. I bought these: www.ebay.com/itm/392089534154?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=kkjEiu1yRGi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=1EgcDbpWQSK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Then put them in position and used small self tapping screws to hold them in place. If it isn’t fitting flush to the truck you can use a heat gun to help conform/manipulate them a bit. They don’t fit perfectly, but fit well enough. I did have to cut them a bit to make them with the mudflaps. Let me know if you have any specific questions that will help you out. 👍👍👍
