When I went on the Disney wonder 2017 for Alaska we had no distress calll we saw the ice glaciers we went around them slowly didn’t sink or hit the dock (: I recommend the ship for the early tour of the iceberg they just stop for the icebergs while they melt and then they go around slowly

During the rescue, everyone should report to the bingo room because you have a great chance of winning. Most passengers are watching the rescue.

I guess this happens more than I thought. On our first cruise with Princess in 2016 we had to rescue a vessel in distress off the coast of the Dominican Republic.

No it's not. It is a brainwashing, money-loving mega corporation. Stop drinking the grape-flavored sugar water and start thinking for yourself.

Disney is amazing for what? Following Maritime Law that states when a distress signal (call) is heard the closest vessel must chart a course to render aid? I mean Disney is alright but I wouldn’t say amazing.
@ytr51533 жыл бұрын
Monkey explanation: If Disney do not respond to distress call. Disney lawsuit couple millions. Disney no cruises. Disney sad. Or... DISNEY send 3 guys with a small boat and nothing happens. Disney and maritime laws happy
@13dg3 жыл бұрын
@@jacobfarmer2969 you are not required to change your course to assist the vessel in distress, according to the law you are required to acknowledge the distress call (while making sure the right entities do it as well, like an RCC for example) and wait for instructions considering that those enteties are more equiped and trained to give the assistance needed. Only if the authorities that will be coordinating the rescue operation tell you to assist, you are required to do so, until then you must stay out but at the same time ready to intervene (which most times might end up happening when the closest rescue centers are not that close and the vessel in destress requires assistance immediately). Which you could say is the same than what you said, but in the end its not quite the same, tho the point you are making is still valid and i agree.

all ships in the imediate vicinity of a distress call that is issued by a vessel must comply for rescue by international law.

The only reason a Disney ship would stop and help is because it's the law. Stop drinking the grape-flavored sugar water; your body and mind will thank you for it.
@ljmcobra05203 жыл бұрын
roger0929 no, boaters do not stop because it’s the law they stop in good faith. There’s a unwritten camaraderie between boaters that you don’t experience unless you own a boat. We help each other regardless of the situation and I’m sure that the captain made his decision with that in mind, not the law.

roger0929 Disney is a good company both to work with and for. They have traditions rooted in helping people and aren’t solely rooted in profits.
