The osram vialox nav-t super 4y at 70w gives 6400 lumens almost as much as the philips master son-t apia plus hg free and master son-t pia plus 70w but the philips master son-t apia plus xtra 70w gives 7200 lumens, and this is called ceramic metal halide CDO: ceramic discharge metal halide, there is also the CPO: ceramic pressure operated which is significantly smaller and is slightly more efficient, that is, at 60W it gives about 7000 lumens like the philips master cosmowhite cpo-tw xtra 60w 7200 lumens and an average lifespan of 32,000 hours while the philips master citywhite cdo-tt plus 70w gives 7700 lumens and an average lifespan of 27,000 hours and an HPS has over 40,000 hours to 48,000 hours

That's true, but the difference is also in the color temperature, because although these NAV-T 70 W SUPER 4Y have 2000K (like most other HPS lamps), the MASTER SON-T PIA Plus 70W and MASTER SON-T APIA Plus Xtra 70W have only 1900K and MASTER SON-T APIA Plus Hg Free 70W has 2100K. I personally have only one HPS lamp from Philips, the MASTER SON PIA Plus 70W/220 I E27 1CT/24, and I am very satisfied with it. Lifespan B50 is 30,000 hours, pleasant 1900K, 5,750lm and thanks to the coated version I have beautiful diffused light, even with an internal ignitor so I don't even need an external ignitor here, just a magnetic ballast and a capacitor for reactive current. Philips and Osram are my favorite brands. Clearly. And yes, ceramic (polycrystalline alumina) arc tubes also give Metal Halide lamps more lumens than quartz arc tubes, but I personally love them all... And especially freely moldable ceramic (POWERBALL). There is also a first generation called cylindrical form, but this one has some disadvantages compared to POWERBALL... POWERBALL technology has improved color rendering, faster start-up, more uniform operation independent of burning position and, last but not least, a longer nominal lifespan. There are many, and each technology and each HID lamp is very interesting and I personally love them all.

Thank you very much. And I have these lamp holders just for demonstration... For normal use, I use closed luminaires with ceramic sockets and use silicone three-wire cables for them, while all three wires (L, N, PE) have a cross-section of 1.5 mm². And this cross-section, multiplied by their length, is more than sufficient not only for the watts I use, but also for the ignition and nominal voltage. These lamp holders in the video are for demonstration only, nothing more.

I think V is the symbol for Vapor. In the High Pressure Sodium lamp, of course, the light is emitted in an arc tube made of polycrystalline aluminum oxide ceramics. However, since the ignition voltage starts a reaction that ionizes the starting gas and creates an electric arc, at increased temperature and pressure, the sodium amalgam begins to turn into vapors... And the vapors can be denoted as V.

@@arnislacis9064 Yes, the Mercury Vapor lamp can be started in other ways (for example, there are also Self-ballasted Mercury Vapor lamps). And a magnetic ballast for MV lamps is therefore not necessary. However, there are many details that can shorten the nominal lifespan of the lamp, the efficiency, or the electric arc simply cannot be held in the arc tube. I don't know if you use electronic or magnetic HPS/MH ballast. But the use of a starter (which cannot be avoided in an electronic ballast for HPS/MH lamps) can destroy the resistor that is inside the Mercury Vapor lamp. It should also be taken into account that the ignition voltage for the 80W HQL lamp is 0.198 kVp and the nominal voltage is 115 V. And for the 70W NAV-E lamp the ignition voltage is 1.8/5.0 kVp and the nominal voltage is only 90 V. I personally use it for 80W MV lamps only magnetic ballast, namely Philips BHL 80 L202 and it works great.

Mercury vapour lightbulbs, with pink glow at startup usualy have Yittrium vanadate phosforous coating. These lamps have cool white, when they are fully warmed up. Old type mercury vapour lightbulbs have different phosforous, that should glow orangeish color at startup and these lamps have green tint, when warmed up. I actualy have two types of these high pressure mercury vapour lightbulbs.
@Naguals_HID_Lamps
@Naguals_HID_Lamps Ай бұрын
Yes, Yttrium Vanadate phosphor is the better quality one, which produces a red or pink light at the beginning, which then changes to a neutral white or even a slightly warm white light, while the older types, such as Magnesium Fluoro-germanate or Magnesium Arsenate, produce cold after heating the arc tube white light with a visible green tint and a worse color rendering index. I personally prefer Yttrium Vanadate.🙂

It's okay, I get it. Well, if I speak faster, then unfortunately I start stuttering a lot, because I have a speech impediment. That's why I always try to adapt the narration, otherwise it would be even worse. Well, I understand you and respect your opinion. And yes, this lamp needs electricity. Radium is only a brand that manufactures this Metal Halide lamp... Such as Osram, Philips etc... This lamp does not contain any Radium. It is a High Pressure Metal Halide lamp that uses a ceramic arc tube that contains a mixture of argon, mercury and metal halides in a precise ratio. And thanks to the magnetic ballast (where, in addition to the ballast, an external igniter is also needed), or the electronic ballast, the lamp lights up slowly and produces the resulting light.

This lightbulb can be used to replace metal halide lightbulbs, because it is shining white color. For HPS replacement should be used LED with 2000...2700K warm white light. I am HID lamp collector too, I have recenlty found 5 working unused Soviet 400W high pressure sodium lightbulbs.
@Naguals_HID_Lamps
@Naguals_HID_Lamps Ай бұрын
I agree. There are many Metal Halide lamps that are also 3000K. For example, my HCI-TT 70 W/830 SUPER 4Y lamps are 3200K, which is almost the same, but this LED replacement has RA 70, while the mentioned MH lamp has RA 80. So the color rendering index is better with this Metal Halide lamp and it is also smaller, lighter and last but not least it produces 8000 lumens, while this LED only 4200 lumens. And with a quality electronic ballast, this HID lamp doesn't flicker at all, while this LED replacement does a little. But on the other hand, this MH lamp has 80W, while this LED only 26W. But it is not always important that the lamp has as few watts as possible and there is always something for and something against... I also like some LEDs, but I prefer HID lamps. And to replace HPS lamps, which thanks to 2000K are excellent for lighting in fog, through which this very warm white light penetrates better than, for example, 4000K from an LED lamp (not to mention less light pollution), is quite difficult, at least Ledvance already makes an LED replacement that has less than 2000K. And I'm curious about her. And I'm glad that you are also a collector of HID lamps and those 400W HPS lamps must shine really brightly.🙂

Yeah, nothing better than having a RADIOACTIVE Lamp for illumination. What were you thinking? Which Isotope are you using? The half-life of radium-226 is approximately 1,600 years. The half-life of a radioactive substance is the time it takes for half of its radioactivity to decay. Radium is a radioactive substance that is a decay product of uranium. It is found in almost all rocks and soils. Over time, radium decays into radon gas and eventually stabilizes as lead. The most common isotopes of radium and their half-lives are: Radium-224: 3.5 days Radium-226: 1,600 years Radium-228: 6.7 years

The light sparkled beautifully on the snow, and it was the same with the "orange" High Pressure Sodium lamps... Back then, Christmas was more beautiful outside than it is now with LEDs.

Caramba!

Yes, with its oval and matte appearance, it is practically indistinguishable from a real Mercury Vapor lamp, but it is heavier and, like some other LED replacements for HID lamps, causes a visible stroboscopic effect in places. I'm sorry that you don't use these substitutes, but it's the same for us. I have this one at home, but outside in our city, either old lamps are used, in which there are either Metal Halide lamps or High Pressure Sodium lamps, but wherever there is an LED, it is all LED modules that have the shape of a "shovel" ", which is not nice at all and when replacing it, you have to replace the whole lamp... Really "great".
