What the hell are you talking about. *Nowhere* in any of the instructions and warnings does it say unplug it before going to sleep. Don't know about the UK, but in US, there are no such instructions anywhere. Maybe when you're dealing with 240v instead of 120, I suppose it could cook you like being on a charcoal grill. The one I use and have to keep replacing every year because it won't stay warm all night is a bit fretfull, cause on high, it makes the bed nice and toasty then it stays on high, but only makes it barely warm and can't find out why it's doing that. Many moons ago when water beds were all the rage, most of us would lay the blanket in the frame, then fill the water bed with water, then set the blanket settings (over a few days), to keep it warm 24x7

The only way to use an electric blanket 100% safely is to disconnect the control cord, toss it, and use the blanket like a regular one.

My problem is rooms today come with ONE socket. So, what does he mean it should be alone in the socket? We have phones to charge and stuff. The average bedroom these days use an extension cord which you can use to plug in multiple things.

We have more information on electrical safety on our website www.notts-fire.gov.uk/community/safety-in-your-home/electrical-safety/ there are also links to an overloaded socket calculator.

where did you find an electric blanket that draws 13amps at 220Volts? Try 60watts to 120watts, or 0.5amps at 220volts

Thanks for explaining the use of electric blankets safely. I read a few comments below regarding these blankets coming folded. In that case what to do? This video does not specify about under or over-blanket
@richardkallio3868Ай бұрын
The problem is not folding them, but doing so repeatedly, which eventually can strain the heating coils to the point that they break. Many experts recommend loosely rolling the blanket for storage, or - better yet - once it is installed on the bed, leaving it there, even if one disconnects and stores the cords for the summer months.

Currently 15, I am thinking of joining when older. 1 Question, What is the procedure when you guys hear about a fire? I've seen in shows and movies that theres a pole that firefighters grasp and drop from.
@nottsfire999 Жыл бұрын
There’s only a couple of stations in Nottinghamshire that have a pole.
@mitch2845 Жыл бұрын
Where was this filmed then because Arnold doesn’t have a pole?😂
@nottsfire999 Жыл бұрын
It's our only station that has one that can still be used. Firefighters can only use it when getting to the fire engine for a fire call.

The danger is not wearing a suitable glove, although the sparks are not dangerous to the skin of the hand, dropping hot slag off the wire can cause painful burns.

Hiya mate ima bit late to the vid 😂, got a question for you Im hoping you can answer. I’m a 16 year old boy from Uk, i don’t know were about ur based mate but I live locally to Derbyshire fire and rescue and have aspired to be a full time firefighter since a very young age my friend. I recently went to the opening evening they held last Friday and was just filled with excitement and want to have the best chance of becoming a full Time firefighter a lot of my family have been firefighters as well as my dads pal who was a fireman for most of his life and managed to gain the rank squadron leader and know he was On a significant wage 😄. Its not about the money for me mate I just love the thought of being a fireman, it’s different everyday and entertaining and I love how honoured the fire crews of all towns and city’s are constantly and I want to be remembered by my family as they’re son that managed to do some good in life. My main concern mate is my school grades as I said I’m currently 16 and I’m not gonna lie to you mate I was a right little shit in school , I get my grades for my GCSE’S results this Thursday bro and can pretty much tell u what my grades are going to be and they ain’t gonna be pretty. I regret not listening in school and wish i cud turn back the time and do well and open the world to this exciting job to give me a better chance of doing so. So the main thing from this rant (my bad you’ve probably got so many better things to do than read this) is that I want to know if my GCSE results will have Oman impact on me being able to join the fire service wen I am 18 years old. I just hope my grades i get from these don’t decide instantly if I can get tr roll or not. I would say I’m pretty fit for a 16 year old and am fine with confined spaces and have researched fireman tests and how to become a fireman for ages bro and nothing bothers me it’s just my grades bro. So in the most honest way possible pleas tell me how my grades are going to effect me once I am 18 rocking up on the day of trials and if I will be aloud at All! Thank you for reading this hagn mate ❤

Currently we require all firefighters to have a level 2 qualification in Maths and English (GCSE A*-C or 4-9 or equivalent). You will be required to provide evidence of this if your application is successful.

I have a double bed with both sides of electric blanket that heat up and have switches on each side but the side i sleep on, the cord is damaged. Can i flip the electric blanket over to the working side? the cord is at my feet. If i flip it will the heating element still work? hope this makes sense
@nottsfire999 Жыл бұрын
If the cord is damaged we would recommend getting it inspected by a qualified electrician or replacing the electric blanket all together.
