Thank you very much Jon. I have recommended this video (from when you published it 2 years ago) to all of my students as basic and clear, but essential, to write their emails to me. I appreciate your transcription on it as well. I post your video on my Manaba course threads, if they want to ask or inform me about something, make an appointment with me. (Note to those unacquainted: Manaba is a Japan-based Learning Management System, like Moodle, but limited to within a university in Japan) No, I don't allow my students to ask or request meetings via Manaba. They should understand that writing this academic style of (to distinguish it from business) emails is a necessary if a bit dated skill in academic (and professional) communication (even if emailing might go obsolete in a foreseeable future).

I have had to add more columns to my grade book, however the total points is not adding the additional columns pass column AC, any suggestions? I have looked at the formula, and it shows the column range/"total points", but I can't seem to find the formula for "total points".

This is a wonderful template, but for some reason, it only shows individual grade reports for the first 24 of my students. I have 82 students and need individual reports created for each of them in tab 3 in the dropdown. Any ideas?

Hi Shannon Deford! Wow, that's a huge class to deal with..82 students!? You can add more rows by going to the 24th row (or whatever is the last one) and right-clicking on your mouse to add a new row. This may take a while, but a possible workaround would be to add a column with your students' email addresses, and then you could (one by one) email them their reports. In Google Sheets, if you hover over the email address, you can send that person a message. You Could potentially copy the cell with the overall grade or detailed report and paste that into the email. If that is too much, I think Google Classroom would be a better option for you since you are managing such a large group of students! I hope this helps & best of luck with everything!

Hi that's a great question! You can actually use a different app (that integrates with Calendly) called "Doodle" and that will allow other people to tell you when they are available to book an appointment. Great question! You can print a Quizlet test in the "Test" tab, and you can get the AWL list on Google Sheets, save it as a PDF, and then print the PDF. I hope this helps 😀

Great question! This video was done at the beginning of the pandemic when my school blocked Google Classroom. Doctopus was my workaround for this admin block! You're actually the first person to realize this 😅

Good question, Chantel. The time depends on the student's pace and how fast the fastest team gets 12 correct answers. You could stop the game yourself by telling your students to put down their phones or close their laptops at the midway point of six correct answers, but there is no time limit on the game itself. I award points at the end to the top three teams (1st place 3 points, 2nd place 2 points, and 3rd place 1 point) and make it a competition with the first team to 10 total points being the overall champion. This prevents other teams from getting discouraged if they lose one or two rounds. I hope I answered your question!

Hi Rebecca, that's a great question. I'm using the free Calendly, but I know that if you are on the paid version, it's possible you can schedule multiple lessons at once. Another option to look into is a similar platform called "Schedule Once". It is more complicated than Calendly, but it may help you get done what you're trying to do!

Hi MsLiso, Sorry I am only just now finding this comment. If you go to your assignment for your project, you could set it as #4 being the top score and then give your students a score of 0-4. I hope this helps!

Hi Dylan, are you talking about adding conditional formatting to the cells? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "EXMT"

@@EducationSolutions365 I'm guessing he means the ability to allow students to be EXEMPT from the assignment; to have them not do it and have it NOT be counted against them. As the template is now if the space is blank the system counts it as zero and the kid is missing points. Not great when you are working with kids who may have just come into the district, who have had a chronic illness, etc. Marking with E, A, X, or blank has no effect.

There are many reasons that this is applicable, and it is critical to have this option (or a viable workaround) or the template is not useable. Please advise.

A few quick questions relating to applying this to my NYC public school class. 1, if students complete the quiz after you've imported the grades, will it automatically populate their grade in Google Classroom? 2, See that you're doing separate quizzes for each section, can you assign a singular Google Form quiz to multiple sections (as separate Google Classrooms)? thanks for any reply in advance.

Great questions, Bill! 1) Yes, I’ve found that my students who were absent the week of the quiz still had their grades populate later in GC after I’ve imported the initial scores. 2) I have not tried setting a single quiz for multiple GC classes, because I don’t teach the same classes (same levels) throughout the week. However, in theory, it should work. I’d recommend trying it with a simple questionnaire for your multiple classes and see if it works. Thanks, you may have just given me an idea for a new video 👍
