Thanks! I have a Diawa Crosscast 4000 of the same model with the same drag system but felt washers. The owner's manual is in Japanese, and the schematics are not the best. I'd like to go fishing with you!

@@fishingforaginguk9267 I live in Florida. It might be more fun here this time of year. Lol! I wonder why reel manufacturers overcomplicate the design. Old school Penn spinning reels made in the USA had only a single carbon washer and single stainless steel washer held in place by a strong round stainless steel spring clip (not wire-thin pentagon). They had more than double the surface area. They didn't click, you had precise control. You wanted to keep them clean of oil and grease, but water was not a problem. I still have a couple. They have held up well, and I have never lost a fish because of the drag-still smooth after all these years. Tight lines!

I don't think so, each reel has different models of washers.

The water wouldn’t cause that problem with the drag....it’s because it’s cheaply made with cheap materials no other reason. I dip my reels every time I’m on the bank to soak the line never have I encountered an issue with my drag after it on any reel I’ve owned over 25 years and as you mention 2/3 day sessions I usually do 3/5 and as I said previously I’ve never encountered an issue like that in 25 years

lots of trash at the water... how can you fishing there...
@fishingforaginguk9267Ай бұрын
Lake was at its lowest on purpose for a bridge construction. Agree there's some bits on the bank and I hate it, however the water is now healthy and the stock of healthy fish speaks for its quality. In the middle of Liverpool.

I believe is the type of washers you installed, some are different, but if it feels smoother and the drag is quicker it shouldn't be a problem.
