Tubeless tires should have been made an option by yamaha for sure. I'm not bothered by exhaust, this is relatively easy to fix, many options on market
@robmotorcycletravels
@robmotorcycletravels 5 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yamaha should have mounted the exhaust with just 2 bolts on the frame just like the new BMW F900 GS for example. Or same construction like the Desert X, where the passenger step will take the first hit when you drop the bike. I don’t know of any other manufacturer who mounted it directly to the subframe. It just doesn’t make sense how Yamaha did this on the T7. I hope there will be a new T7 or T9 in the future where they will change these little things to make the bike even better. Still love my T7 after more than 2 years of ownership, can’t think of any other bike that would fit me better.
@678wait
@678wait 5 ай бұрын
@@robmotorcycletravels yes, this makes sense i agree. I'm still waiting for my T7 to come. And now hesitating between high exhaust which would eliminate this problem at all, or standard position because I like the looks of it better. This is definitely a flaw in the design along with shaky dashboard and headlight and soft rear brake. So t7 is not flawless by any means, but all this is fixable.
@robmotorcycletravels
@robmotorcycletravels 5 ай бұрын
@@678wait The dashboard is not that shaky I think but can be easy solved with an aftermarket part for around 20-30 euro. However, it could be manufactured on purpose like this by Yamaha so the dashboard can move along during offroad riding and won’t damage. Try it first I would say, I don’t see it really as a problem. The brakes on offroad orientated bikes are softer than on road bikes, that is correct. You will get used to that after some time riding the bike. For the exhaust you could buy a high exhaust, but you also have to change turn signals. It’s a good solution, but I agree with you that it looks better with the normal exhaust on the side. I put my soft bags on the side and stuff them with some clothes when I go out for offroad trips, that has worked well so far. You could also mount a pannier rack, SW motech has a detachable one, and than that will take the hit when you drop the bike.

Hi, the mirrors are flat. I have them on my bike since september 2023 and no problems so far. The only negative thing I cam think of is that the screws needed to mount on your handlebar get rust on it very quickly. If you replace these, the problem is solved easily.

@robmotorcycletravels
@robmotorcycletravels Жыл бұрын
Hi There, Yes the Tenere is indeed an awesome big adventure bike and with 1.85 meter you will fit fine on this bike. The height is an advantage (I think) when you drive on the road as you can oversee all the other traffic in front of you. The Tenere is not as heavy as the bigger adventure bikes, but I would not call it a light bike. It carries the weight pretty high and when you drop it it is really flat on the ground and it requires some strength to lift it again. But it is possible. It really depends on the kind of driving you prefer if you will like this bike. If you do a lot of off road riding, I think you could better stick with the KTM. If you want a bike that drives very good onroad and can also do some off road trails...then the Tenere could be a perfect solution. I see several T7 owners on KZbin driving offroad like crazy .so it is possible, but you would really need to practice and develop the skills to do that.

Hi Rob, really great movie, which makes you want to go to Norway, too. However I already decided to go there this year and booked my ferry starting from Emden some weeks ago. While seeing your video i was often asking myself, where i can find some of the streets you rode. Espacially @14:00-15:30 mins and 5-6 mins... Maybe you can help me out with some tips to find it, so can include in my route planning? Thanks a lot :)

Hi, I’m really sorry, but I don’t have that information. We just left Kristiansand driving up North without any route planned. The good thing is that it is nice everywhere. I would advice you to go to the Mountain area and drive through the national parks, as they are really beautiful. Geiranger, Trollstigen road, Jotunheimen park is where we have been as well. Enjoy your trip and take some proper raingear with you 😀

@@robmotorcycletravels Very good advice. Don't plan anything in Norway. Rather follow the good weather whenever possible.

thank you, you have a really nice but also big bike. Great for the normal roads in Norway, but personally I would not feel comfortable to drive a big bike like that offroad.
