Braxman sells his 'own' phones with a tweaked OS and his bargain basement merchandise can't be compared to CalyxOS or GOS which are fully fledged operating systems. Perhaps he should publish his own OS if he knows so much about privacy. Even the most popular YT channels - those who purport to offer 'expert' advice on these matters recommend GOS. And my impression of Rossmann is that he believes that he should be treated like a celebrity because he went 'all in'' for GrapheneOS but found himself treated much the same way as any other GOS user. Too bad, what a drama queen! Who really gives a shit if they have a bad attitude but their product is the best in its class. I want the best system for the job not a subscription to a social club. GOS is free software that is actively maintained and relatively easy to install. There is an inherent flaw in how Rob Braxman attempts to divide his audience along the lines of 'privacy' and 'security' so that he can lay claim to being that 'privacy' guy. I have to ask myself how can someone who peddles cheap Chinese hardware with a tweaked OS be relied on to provide me with a secure phone? I personally want the most secure OS I can afford so that I can choose the level of privacy that suits my needs. Rob Braxman's focus on privacy is flawed unless he can provide at least the same level of security that GOS offers when combined with the physical security of Pixel phones. There is a reason why he mentioned Louis Rossmann in his video, he is grifting for a showcase interview and a 'celebrity' endorsement. He is first and foremost a merchant doing what he is entitled to do - to sell you something.

Can i flash graphene OS on the unplugged phone ? I like the hardware switches on the UP phone.

Put GrapheneOS on a Pixel (doesn’t have to be a brand new one) and be done. GrapheneOS does not have Google services installed. After a simple install you choose to use Google if you like and it’ll be sandboxed.

GrapheneOS is like a child; they should fire whoever is in charge of their social media... I was considering them, but I will take my business elsewhere. I just purchased an UnPlugged Phone.

If you want Google Play services - STAY WITH GOOGLE! MicroG spoofs the info required by GPServices in order to use 'some' apps that need this in order to function. This is how Aurora store operates. Simply educate yourself with other FOSS apps - aka FDROID apps, and embrace alternates. If you need Google Play Services - forget these privacy phones. Its comparative to a person complaining about being overweight whilst chugging down chocolate and candy bars with a soda. Good luck.
