Destroyer is a really good band name. Makes me think of Mayhem and all that metal stuff. The music is intense, I am very inspired and happy to have found this song. Such a NY disco vibe if you know what I mean ;)

I wonder why this is the only song from the album not on Spotify. If I had to guess, maybe because it's 20 minutes long and that wasn't accepted back then?

Overjoyed to learn this exists. Been listening to the digital version of Kaputt for years. The final minute of this sounds like something you'd hear wandering around Martinaise.

Damn…i bought Kaputt back in the days when it came out and listened to it all the time. It‘s one of my favourite albums. But it has to be todays day, that I find out, that this beautiful art of music exists.

One of the defining tracks of my youth. There’s so much vastness, melancholy and lust for life in this composition, it’s almost unbearable. If the original album “Kaputt” resembled a time of partying, then “Bay of Pigs” would be the dawning day after, and “Laziest River” would be the fondwashed, melancholic memories of that time. To me, Kaputt is one of the great soundpieces of the past twenty years.

Listening to this in 2022, and then looking at the picture of the look out of Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver... a place I used to regularly go...it all matches up for nostalgia of the not too distance past.

It's been over 10 years and this album still brings me immense solace. It saved my life as a teen, and it continues to remind me how beautiful this world is, despite its darkness. Thank you destroyer ❤️

Not gonna lie, I really wish the song was purely instrumental. The vocals ruin the latter part for me. Just a preference, though, and this is an amazing track overall.

This track is utterly amazing and I don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to it. Just a quick story that some of you might enjoy: I've always been a pretty big fan of Destroyer, so I pre-ordered this album on vinyl before the release. Then a few months later I saw them play at The Middle East in Cambridge, MA during the Kaputt tour, and after the show was over, I felt compelled to buy the vinyl again at the merch table and go find Dan backstage to get his autograph on the record. Needless to say, everything worked out as planned. I got to meet one or my favorite artists for a brief moment and got a signed copy of an album that I still enjoying spinning immensely to this very day.

A lot of modern music and musicians are overhyped including this guy, what cannot be disputed though is his talent. Like most great art/istes he's not frightened to steal other people's ideas and create something of his own in the process. Which is why I'm going to hit the repeat button and listen to this all the way through again. Thanks for posting.

+oblivioustanya Can't remember hahaha. Maybe I'd just read a couple of over the top articles in the music press. I was in Vancouver just before he played a show so maybe that was it, his hometown press all gushing and adoring etc.etc. My friend saw the show and said he was amazing.
