Reagan had great timing - he could deliver a punch line like a stand - up comedian.

@ there’s other better ones. I suggest the one when Frank Sinatra replaced Johnny Carson for a show. It’s one of his better!
Even that I was born in 1970 I grew up listening to him and watching him on the television and back in those days was a one of a true legend he may be gone but definitely hasn’t been forgotten because he was the best at the time and yeah there a few and I am just named him as a true legend rip my friend

God, I remember that kind of humor. The 'modern audience' humor we have now is utterly BORING. Look at all those stars. Oh sure they all had their things, but we also watched them with a passion. They acted, they entertained. Today we have plastic figurines for that. Boring.

Bob Hope was English, which is probably why he had a genius for comedy.

I have dear Cousin who is Gay. As a student at BYU he had a job working in the Auditorium where the Carpenters were to perform. He is a gifted Artist and a confirmed “Karen” Fan. He had created a fine and amazing Portrait of the Artist and asked if he would be permitted to present it to her sometime. He heard nothing back from the Management. But after the Show he had given up on the idea, then received a page to go to a certain exit and there was Karen with a security detail. He was welcomed by Karen and presented his Gift. She was moved to tears because of the intense beauty of this Portrait created lovingly in her honor. Billy also was moved as she graciously accepted it saying: “Billy, Thank you so much for this Gift!! It’s such an honor to meet you. I will Treasure this Always. He still has struggles on Karen’s BD. They truly parted as friends. Billy is an Artist living in Montreal ,Canada.

I'm thinking this was some time in 1972. I see Mark Spitz (Summer Olympic champion) there. Ronald Reagan was CA Gov. 1964-72. Jack Benny died I think in 1973.
