For those scratching their heads, all these mappings are just per session. Everything is lost when you open a new session. Its incredible that Ableton after all these years haven't sort this out. Same with 2-way macro mapping. So annoying that after assign a macro it's not possible to move the knob that was assign with the mouse or another controller.

Yet another one that just 'scoots'... around the Cubase MixConsole window problem that you must use the MIDI channel faders to 'select' the different instruments just to play them on the keyboard. For large orchestral template setups using many MIDI instrument setups via Vienna Ensemble Pro, the mix Faders in the Cubase MixConsole window are pretty much useless. With an orchestral setup you have mainly just 2 types of Faders showing, Audio output faders that you use for actually mixing, applying EQ, FX, etc., and then MIDI Faders which are "OFF" and do not affect the audio. But you must... use those MIDI channel Faders to 'select' the different MIDI instruments in the MixConsole window. You cannot just select the Audio output Faders for each MIDI instrument, to move from instrument to instrument (within MixConsole window). That means you either have leave all the MIDI channels Faders showing in the MixConsole window, or have a half n' half Project/MixConsole window displayed just so you can go up to your Project window and select the different MIDI instruments. Why can't Cubase program a link of the MIDI instrument selection to the Audio output faders in MixConsole, like other DAWs do?

has anyone realised that if you don't have a note hitting on the first beat of the bar, that beat repeat intervals dont seem to work corectly and goes all out of sync. Anyone figure this out?

I love converting to midi but find the default sounds to be quite annoying. Does anyone know a way to change the default drum rack/instrument when converting to midi?

Is there no way to load your own samples from your own sample library and flick through samples from there? Like if i wanted my folder of kicks to be easily selectable on a pad? Feels like I still need to buy NI battery to get a better workflow

Link has become the answer I was seeking for running Mac to pc. But the other part is how can I get my MIDI USB keyboard to play into the other PC which is connected to Mac. If I can do that, I can finally get my VST's on windows working, and whatever else on Mac. For me playing MIDI controlling into Mac is dead on perfect but in PC it's not.

This is a half-finished plastic toy that cannot be used for work. Even with a high-speed memory card, it will freeze after about 15 minutes of use due to hardware heating. Any button will not work, which is surprising!!!

I'm a home recording guy for a few decades now and of course we didn't need that kind of array back in the day when we had only 8 tracks (or even less) available. A modern DAW is a different story altogether: it literally invites you to use numberless tracks which of course adds a lot of depth to your mix. In order to administrate all these tracks folders are an important element. 👍

Great. Is there a video explaining how to set up an articulation set for a multi-output Kontakt set-up e.g. using Spitfire Session Strings and having one core articulation instrument loaded and another for other articulations such as trills etc. Presumably this involves ticking the Activate Multiple Outputs box and setting midi-channels etc. Anyone come across a walkthrough? Thanks.

I’m so new to this, (using a DAW, an Audio Interface and a Mac) and I dismantled my entire studio, which was more than 50 synths and drum machines, a large mixer, many eq’s and all types of reverbs and delays. The way I worked was one master keyboard, an Italian arranger GEM, which has incredible sequencer and is flexible like a computer, connected to all my synths via midi split boxes (2 Kenton 25s) since this GEM has 2 separate midi ports of ins and outs and thrus and this GEM was controlling my entire studio, recoding in it 2 lines of 16 tracks. Basically this arranger was my daw. For some unknown reason, I guess to tell me kids that I’m a big fish too, keep in mind I’m not a musician but a businessman that loves music and built an entire studio at home, I decided to buy an Apollo Duo X and a 27 inch IMac to record in to the computer. All my synths and drum machines are connected to my mixer and everything in my studio is turned on and already wired. All I need to do is turn it on so I always thought that I could send a signal out from my Yamaha MGP 32 hybrid mixer, (for example from Stereo out in to Apollos line IN) then from Apollos line out in to the IMac and start recording. Now I see that that’s really not the case. Now I’m trying to route my entire studio correctly and I created the biggest mess. It took me 2 months of nonstop work to connect my studio and now I can’t figure this out to reconnect. After reading this novel I wrote, does anyone think I’m on the right track? Should I connect all to my mixer again, have my master keyboard control my entire studio and just send the signal in to the Apollo and from there in to Logic Pro x or am I doing this wrong? Thanks so very much for any tips. God help me as these wires are like spiders now crawling on my skin. Thanks again

For me, Ulrich makes music which is part of a small elite group of artists, that I like to call my coma group. My family are aware that if I end up in a coma for some unknown reason, then Ulrich's music will help me find my way back home, I guess this is the best way I can describe what this man's stunning music means to me...
