I completely agree with what you’re saying. As a licensed hairstylist, I’ve had my own issues with Booksy and how they conduct business. It’s honestly disappointing. They don’t seem to protect the hairstylists, barbers, or service providers who use their platform, even though we’re paying them monthly fees. On top of that, the high percentage they charge to use their boost feature is outrageous. What really frustrated me was a situation I experienced with a dishonest customer. Despite all the great reviews I’ve built up, one customer lied about their experience to try and get a free service. When I refused, they left a terrible, false review. I reached out to Booksy to report the situation, explaining that the customer was essentially trying to scam me, but they told me they couldn’t remove the review because of their policy. I was shocked here I am, paying all these fees, and they won’t protect me from slander? Instead, they allow a review that customer purposely was trying to harm my reputation to stay up, all in the name of policy. What the devil meant for evil God meant it for my good boosky don’t provide for me God is my source and a customer review can’t stop God from providing for me. No weapon formed against me shall process and any tongue that rise would be condemned got me on here preaching lol! Boosky foolishness will be stopped. What makes this even worse is that they allow unlicensed individuals to advertise on their platform. Don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking anyone’s hustle or the journey to becoming licensed, but it’s hypocritical for a company that claims to have high standards to allow that while treating licensed professionals with such little regard. It’s clear to me that Booksy is more focused on profit than integrity, and I believe it’s only a matter of time before their practices catch up with them. You can’t exploit and disrespect the very people who keep your business running and expect no consequences. I truly believe that if hairstylists and barbers band together, cancel memberships, and bring attention to what’s going on, things will change. God doesn’t play about His people, and when greed is at the center of a business, it’s only a matter of time before it falls apart. with hairstylist or barbers that not license but everything to do with a company that try to say they hold integrity and standards but have loopholes that would get them legally shut down so I would say to boosky you need to tread lightly with stylist and barbers on your platform and be kind because how you moving going to get you in blackout once everyone wake up to what you guys are doing. Once more stylist and barbers start boycotting them they will start moving different

Very clean and informative video, sir. I have a question in regards to cutting the top of black clients hair with clippers. When the client asks for a specific guard/number on top, do you as the barber make the decision to go with or against the grain? Or do you always ask the client their preference before running the clipper though their hair? I know that with or against the grain produces very different results.
@DudeCanCutTV15 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching family. It really depends on the hair, the density of the hair and the length. Since I know we were going low, i went against the grain. If we were leaving it heavier i might have went with the grain so it all depends on the hair. If you’re unsure just go with the grain. If the clients have waves, ALWAYS go with the grain, they will literally run out the shop lol. Remember you are the professional, trust your eye, and if going with the grain isn’t getting it low enough, explain to your client that you may have to go against to get the desired length.

Booksy is GREAT‼️ I have my run ins with the app but what’s better than not booking the old school way with calls, pencil and paper. Like he say at the end of the day just create your own booking site. So I say work with what you have until you can get better. Booksy can get over if you aren’t fully utilizing the app.

I am towards the end stretch of barber school, did the barber with chem program, and can confirm this here. Once I got my kit, I had all the tools I needed to hone the craft of barbering, and the first investment after paying tuition was the 76 with the blades. I like many of the clippers on the market, but the detachables just hit different. Much success to all of the hair artisans!! Blessings

I’m about to cancel my Booksy account and switch to SquareUp. I’ve been on Booksy since they first started and I can tell in the last 2yrs they have completely changed how they promote you, even with boost and having over 160+ 5 star reviews. It’s definitely not the same as it was in times past. It’s no longer just $29.99/month, they charge you for boost PLUS new client bookings $10 each new client. Not worth it anymore.

The biggest issue with detachable fading is that when you need access to the measurements in-between blades, you don't have it. Granted, this can work on some people, but it probably won't work on most.
@DudeCanCutTVАй бұрын
The comb would be you’re guard if you don’t have the blades to get in between.
@BobaDavisАй бұрын
@DudeCanCutTV I get that but to do that is honestly just working backwards. This technique is fun to do on some hair types but others not so much and is more of a challenge to yourself, rather than for practical use.
