When wings first came out, I thought this made sense. But I never got around to building one for myself, and I still love to kite - since I Power Loop my kites. The main reason kites have inflatable sections is to make the water relaunchable. That is never the problem with handheld wings. Same as windsurf sails.

So as demonstrated in the video this wing doesn't require using a leash? Do the black ribbons on the wing tips have a purpose? Any reason for the higher aspect ratio design compared to traditional inflatable wings?

What is the reasoning behind the tell tales in the tips? Is this for analysis of vortices or is there another purpose?

I bet this could be made with self inflating channels like a foil kite to give it a more aerodynamically efficient shape and better dynamic stability. Love it.

I suspect the racers will be using a design similar to that soon.

Also attaching the lower part of the wing to the board would greatly improve it... oh wait...

Great to see the innovation. I gotta a feeling we’ll all be riding rigid wings in the near future. Hopefully lower cost than pump up jobs and better durability as frames won’t stretch and distort over time

Back to the initial concept. This looks exactly like the first test I saw of winging concept some 6 years ago. But now the foil are just better tuned.

wow. This is cool. He's headed in the opposite direction of the other wing brands with their $2500 laminate material wings. The price of wings has gotten out of control. Greg is once again creating a new style based on simplicity. He was the first to make the zero strut kite foiling kites which took years before the major brands understood the concept and followed.
