Huh? If Tornadus has Prankster, and Sneasler became a Dark type, wouldn't that make it immune to Prankster moves? I didn't know String Shot had less than 100 Accuracy. I also forgot that it lowers speed by two stages.

Jeez, three moves dedicated to lowering opponents' speed on Spidops? Can't say I expected that. This basically means all your team members have some form of speed control. Earth Power on Garchomp seems weird. Does Garchomp not learn single target physical Ground moves? Same with Volcarona, why not use Bug Buzz instead of Leech Life?

I've seen strategies to power up ally Pokemon with Swagger (Purugly was a good Swagger target back in the day because of Own Tempo), but not one like this. The combination of Swagger, Tailwind, and Unburden is very potent. It is a little risky because Swagger can miss, but as shown here it can tear an unprepared opponent to shreds.

I'm guessing your opponent didn't run any defensive Teras, so they wanted to use it on a strong Pokemon that could withstand a hit (while Porygon-Z was disadvantaged against Tad). Either that or they simply forgot. Between String Shot, Silk Trap, and Sticky Web, Webber truly is a webber lol! Also, I never realised just how huge Braviary is, it easily outsizes both of your opponent's fully-evolved dragons!
@Overhazard
@Overhazard Күн бұрын
Hisuian Braviary is, in fact, bigger than regular Unovan Braviary. Supposedly, it's based on two species of eagle, one of them native to Hokkaido, that are larger than bald eagles. I was thinking that Garchomp might have Terastallized, as I brought out a Dragon-type Pokémon too. Of course, if they didn't Terastallize on the first turn, doing so on the second turn would've been meaningless (unless the Tera type is Fairy) because Garchomp's HP would've been too low to make a difference. I was also expecting Volcarona to Terastallize on sight of Tad (Poliwrath), but you might be right in that the Tera types might match their own, so it would be pointless if, say, Volcarona Terastallizes to Fire, only for Liquidation to knock him out in one hit anyway.

-Looks like Spidops's role is to slow down opposing Pokemon with moves like String Shot, Sticky Web, and Silk Trap. -I guess Porygon-Z was acquired from a website. -Haxorus has a base SPD of 97 while Poliwrath's base SPD is 70. The Sticky Web lowered Haxorus's speed enough for Poliwrath to outspeed it, allowing Poliwrath to use one attack to weaken Haxorus before Braviary finished it off.

@Overhazard
@Overhazard Күн бұрын
Upper Hand has been proving to be harder to use than I had anticipated though. This battle was an example in that I thought Hitmontop would begin with Fake Out, but instead used Endeavor. I have also guessed incorrectly with Raging Bolt and Rillaboom a lot. The only Pokémon I could count on to use a priority move when I expected is Incineroar.
@mrmostache7971
@mrmostache7971 2 күн бұрын
So it seems Upper Hand has priority 3, but so does Fake Out. I'm assuming that if you want to interrupt someone from using Fake Out, you would need to still be faster than them. Though to be fair, common Pokemon with Intimidate like Incineroar usually carry Fake Out, so Adrenaline orbs guarantee that Poliwrath is faster than those Pokemon. Reason why I thought Poliwrath was holding an Assault Vest was that it took a critical hit Extrasensory from Suicune pretty well. I guess that could also be explained by your previous opponent lack of training. I always disliked that Toxic Orb is the only option for Flareon's Guts ability. Testralization can give it the option to hold a Flame Orb, but that's only if you are willing to always Testralize it. I believe you used a Luxury in Sword and Shield with a similar idea. Hitmontop has 125 HP meaning it has minimal HP investments for Endeavor (still some IVs there), which means its focusing on both offense and speed. I was hoping to see more of Oricorio there, though I'm not sure if any of its 3 partners has any "Dance" moves. Looks like they are in the process of building the team, and need to see what 2 more members they need to add.
@Overhazard

I think it’s that they’re unclear about what “pick 4” means and might have thought that you are to bring four Pokémon into the Battle Spot, rather than picking four during Team Preview. I did use a similar strategy with Luxray last generation, though I think I used the Flame Orb, as Guts will negate the Attack drop from Burn. Poliwrath has an unusually defensive stat spread for a Fighting-type Pokémon. Not to the extent of Scrafty, but it isn’t the “all Attack, middling to bad stats everywhere else” that many other Fighting Pokémon exhibit like Machamp and Conkeldurr (though they have their own ways to be useful).

I was honestly unaware people did that prior to your comment. Every team I make, I make sure to have six Pokémon on them before I even begin testing, as an important part of them is learning how opponents behave when they're all together. The way I decide on teams is that I have 10 to 15 Pokémon I want to put on that team, then I narrow them down to the 6 that, together, can deal with as many situations as possible. This is an experimental team I'm using, and even then, I had a bunch of other Pokémon I thought about but ultimately rejected, like Reuniclus, Basculegion (female), Blaziken, and Sandy Shocks. There's no way I can narrow it down to just 4 at first!

Flareon is my favorite of the Eeveelution, It's the fluffiest among them. I will say that the generations has been really kind to Flareon. From the physical/special split, to this generation where it can now learn Flame Charge and Trailblaze. Spidops stats and typing are certainly not impressive, but I can guess the strategy you have planned for it. It's probably going to be disruptive with Silk Trap, Lunge, and Skitter Smack. It does work out well with its ability forcing your opponent to switch. This team sure has a lot of ways to raise its speed, and lowers opponents speed. There is also a lot of emphasis on defense, I think Poliwrath is holding an Assault Vest, and Dipplin is holding an Eviolite. Your opponent is definitely not experienced. I can hardly think of a situation where Zacian's special attacks is preferable to physical attacks. It's in its crowned form too.

Match 1- So this is Lemuria Hub? I see. Its layout reminds me of Saltspray Rig from Splatoon 1 and Skipper Pavilion from Splatoon 2. Match 2- This version of Hammerhead Bridge looks different. The right side of the stage (the area you were facing at the 4:36 mark) has some raised platforms to allow the defenders to splat attackers from the high ground. The narrow area on the left at the 4:55 mark has been extended and has a sponge where the defenders can swim up to and retreat if they wish. And there is also a small path at the 5:14 mark that allows players to get the center of the stage. The changes are small but improves the stage by a lot. Match 3- Three of the players had the Decavitators. They look like they're for players who like charging into the battle and taking players out with the charged shots. It's hard to say which version of the Decavitator has a better kit. Mint has a Suction Bomb for offense and Big Bubbler for defense, while Charcoal has Splash Wall for defense and Inkjet for offense. Match 4- This time, three of the players had Wellstring V's. It looks better than the other Stringers since it fire five shots instead of three. I think the vanilla version is better since it has an Autobomb, which can track nearby opponents. Both variants of Wellstring has underwhelming specials, though.
@Overhazard
@Overhazard 3 күн бұрын
A key difference is that Saltspray Rig has an upwards direction leaving the spawn, whereas Lemuria Hub has a downwards direction (as did Skipper Pavilion). That makes it easier for the team falling behind to catch back up. I have also not seen the issues with the right-handed stance Inklings and Octolings have the way they manifested in Saltspray Rig.
@darkbeastqueen
@darkbeastqueen 4 күн бұрын
It's hard to say if the Wellstring V and Decavitator are any good yet but it seems the Wellstring's spread out long-range shot can help chip at foes and its focused short-range shot can splat in one hit. The way its attack changes based on how long it's charged is kinda awkward, though. The Decavitator seems to rely on the element of surprise: Just rushing wildly at the foe (as I learned the hard way) will get you splatted but staying out of sight and knowing when to use its charged attack appears to be crucial for getting the most out of it.
@Overhazard
@Overhazard 3 күн бұрын
Surprise seems to be a concept that many players can’t grasp, so I can see the Decavitators dropping in usage rapidly very soon. A lot of the less competent players envision battles as face-to-face duels, and they struggle with situations involving flanking or surprise attacks.

Tera raids that utilizes both Physical and Special attacks are always a pain. That's why Johtonian Typhlosion was difficult. Sure, both of those raids didn't have any moves to raise their stats, but you still had to keep both stats in check. I had a high fail rate here, because a lot of my allies were not ready for the Posion/Water/Ground combination, and ended going down like flies. I had to rewatch your Meloetta video, because that's what I wanted to use for this raid. Thankfully, Swampert was only using Earthquake, so I never had to worry about Poison or Defense drops. I'm glad there's more original stages in here at last, but the lack of themes really kills it. I get that it's just cost effective to reuse assets they've probably had sitting around since Generations but these stages don't get to have much identity since they blend together. At a glance it can be hard to tell what stage is even is between all of the other Green Hill or Chemical Plant stages. Really hope Sega can find a balance somewhere to make more unique locales for these levels.

Definitely. Eternal Highway is a nice theme, but Cyber Space does get repetitive with it all looking the same. I think the environments were made from scratch though, or at least tweaked to look better, since they don't quite look the same as they did in Generations (most notably, the fact that everything is made of floating fragments). One of Dr. Eggman's memos while stuck in Cyber Space is that he finds areas based on all sorts of locales from the series, suggesting they had planned on having greater variety. He even mentions the Donpa Kingdom, which debuted in Team Sonic Racing, so it would've been nice to see references from all through the series, plus original ones like Eternal Highway.

I thought the Booster Energy wasn't used at all because the sunlight was out. I did look it up later though, and Booster Energy cannot be taken from a Paradox Pokémon (though they can be taken in a battle if a non-Paradox Pokémon is holding it). It was Generation VIII where items are given back to you if a wild Pokémon takes it, such as with Thief or Trick, but it was Generation IX where it also restores items used up in battle (besides Berries). I also attempted this in the past with Compound Eyes; it seems the effect has been removed for this generation. They did away with most wild Pokémon hold items though. I think it's just Paradox Pokémon with Booster Energy and one other thing. Spoink and Grumpig no longer hold Pearls, Sandygast and Palossand no longer hold Soft Sand, Chansey and Blissey no longer hold Lucky Punches or Lucky Eggs, etc.

Lucky chips are a bit underrated, though admittedly I think they also vary dramatically by weapon type. A Splatana can get more out of it with more armor and maybe a lucky egg drop to help thin out enemies than something with a faster fire rate that can mow down crowds a bit more effectively.

I was mainly doing this to maximize the Prlz yield, since the more color chips in a row you have of the same color, the greater the same-color bonus at the end. There doesn't appear to be any maximum amount besides how much the palette can hold, so it begins with 100p for the second chip and ended with 3300p for the last chip. Not counting the Prlz I got directly from the vending machines, I gained about 800 Prlz for this run. I wanted the Pearl Headband...
