Is there a cutting plate inside the machine? I just bought a used Ellison machine, and the instructions on the machine mention a cutting plate but it did not come with a cutting plate so I’m trying to figure out what that looks like. Thank you!

Hello. Here is the information the Makery staff provided: We think what you’re looking for is called the “cutting pad.” You can find them for sale at Sizzix.com (the parent company of Ellison). If you search the model name of your machine, you might find what you’re looking for. The Ellison cutter in the Makery is a “Prestige Pro” and it has a gray cutting pad on the lower surface of the machine.

This is amazing, never knew you could use a lib card for some of these services--thanks EPL :) For those who are looking for a really innovative way to expand their streaming service, I would recommend Plex Media Server. It is free, but has the paid option of a "Pass" for greater customization. This helped me cut down on other monthly subscription.

Amazing. I ended up cleaning out a bunch of things today and found DVD's I had made from VHS tapes years ago of childhood videos, and realized we don't have a DVD player anymore in the house. This is exactly what I needed today, and the video was easy to follow. Thank you!

I’m watching this video 2 years after you posted it because I just bought a Silhouette Cameo 4 off Facebook marketplace. So I’m brand new to using the Cameo 4. I want to learn all there is about it. I already had the business edition of silhouette studio on my laptop because I recently purchased it for designing rhinestone templates. I was only accustomed to cutting with my CRICUT Explorer Air 2, but as you very well know, there are so many limitations in using the Design Space software. There’s so much to be desired with CDS. When I purchased the CRICUT two years ago, I had never heard of the other cutters that out there. I didn’t even know that the Maker was about to be rolled out. At least I didn’t know it. So here I am with a Silhouette Cameo 4 that I purchased from a lady who said that she was only used to her explorer air 2, just as I said, and that she decided that she did not want to learn how to use the new machine after all. So she put it in the close until she decided to go ahead and sell it. Stay with me here… She said she bought it, turned it on, didn’t like the noisy sound, and put it in her closet. She claimed it was brand new… NOT. There’s about a 4 inch scratch on the cover! I accidentally deleted most of my comment!!! From here, I will use the mic to speak the rest of my comment. So, I powered on the machine and it made this terrible loud, rattling noise. But the lady listed it as new on Facebook marketplace! So I went to KZbin to find out what was causing the rattling noise and how to make it stop.. Apparently many other people were dealing with the same problem. Maybe it happened during the initial shipping when she purchased it, or maybe it was because the auto blade was not firmly in place. Either way, I followed the instructions as the gentleman said, which was to turn the machine off and move the carrier back-and-forth from left to right about six times. Can you believe it? That stopped all that loud rattling noise! Then when I turn the machine back on, the noise had completely vanished. The next problem was that the blade was not cutting the vinyl AT ALL. I tried to do test cuts, and it would not even do test cuts. So I looked on Amazon to purchase new auto blades and there was a product video on demonstrating how to install the auto blade. It showed how to properly place the blade in and press firmly down and how to lock the auto blade into place. I got up in the middle of the night and went into my home office to see if indeed that was the problem. It was the problem, but it’s not anymore! So, I went ahead and ordered the extra auto blades as well as the etching blade because I want to be able to take full advantage of all of the wonderful features offered by the silhouette cameo 4. Is it possible that that lady was trying to sell me a lemon of a machine because she couldn’t figure out how to operate properly? Well, so far, it’s working properly, and I am enjoying every moment of learning to use it. I found your video because I was searching for how to properly mirror a design because when I tried to mirror my design using the mirror feature after clicking the SEND icon, and my design still was not mirrored. Therefore, I have ruined two sheets of 3D Puff VINYL. And you know that was very upsetting. But I’m so glad that I found your video, which clearly explained all the ways to mirror designs. When I used one of your ways, the cutter worked properly and it mirrored beautifully. Now, there’s someone who made a design that says, “Crafting is my therapy“. Well, when this sort of thing happens, Crafting is NOT my Therapy! Thank you for all that you do to help teach us how to get the most out of our Silhouettes cutters and Silhouette Studio. Thank you 😊 Donna ❤ Coastal Georgia
