Everything was done on the KO II, I was even using stock sounds and nothing but the sampled vinyl audio.

I think you can’t go wrong with either. KO II is easier to use and get started, 12 xt offers more options and complexity. Really just a matter of knowing what you’d love to do, and go from there. Both devices are really good imo

@@vvlvmusic Thank you for the reply and the advice. Nice, I will think a little more today and just take a decision and have fun. The whole idea is to try to create lo-fi and ambient music and sample vinyl to create beats. Again: your videos are amazing. :)

You’re welcome :) if you want to live play and record beats aka finger drum them, the KOii would be better suited. Lofi 12 has more ram, more voices and is lofi sounding due to its 12 bit sample rate. It’s also easier to edit recordings and slice samples because the KO has no graphical representation of the audio file.

@ do you have a recommendation for a vinyl player? How did you record it? Directly via cable?

Really depends on what you’re looking for and willing to spend. My main player is a Technics from 1978 and I love it. Personally I’d go for a vintage player second hand. For a relatively low price you can get something awesome. Huge fan of Technics. But also Sony or Yamaha. Anything from the 80s. But you might need a preamp then. I record directly from the portable one or via preamp from my main one.

That one was all done on the KOII. For my full version (out Nov 22 on all streaming platforms) I recorded all parts individually and began adding and re-recording stuff in ableton.
