this thing doesn't work at all. i enter height 1 = 0 (bottom), height 2 = 30cm, turns 1250, wire dia 0,2 and it tells me the turns dont fit. hilarious. and if i enter 0.02 DC resistance is wrong, wire length is wrong, everything is wrong.
@wyrtap51387 ай бұрын
It can be tricky and it has been a while for me so I apologize if i get this wrong but for height 1, if it's sitting on a table, height 1 will be the dimension to top of the table (32" for example). That's your build surface. If your winding area is 8" then height 2 will be 40". Use a caliper to measure the actually size of the wire. Actual diameter is different than awg due to enamel coating. Plus you will need to account for a tiny air gap between each winding. Sometimes it can get tripped up and it's just best to start over.

Does anyone know what the nut size is that holds the buffing pads on this buffer? I lost mine and need to replace them. The instructions say "M12" but it doesn't say the threads per inch.
@wyrtap51388 ай бұрын
Let me see what I can find out for you.
@michaelvanbuskirk88458 ай бұрын
@wyrtap5138 Thanks but I think I found out. Mine is the older #94393 item number so it takes 1/2"-12 nuts which is odd as most are 1/2"-13 at Home Depot and such. I had to order four from Amazon to get them. If I want to use the other side, which I don't need at the moment, I will need to order some 1/2"-12 left handed thread as well.

I would need a lot of bulbs to handle 2200W. Suggestions?
@wyrtap5138 Жыл бұрын
haha thats pretty hefty but...might try 25 - 100w bulbs. go a little heavier so your bulbs are not being stressed. 25 bulbs (2500w) on 125v would be 20A. You would want 125% more on your breaker as well so i would go with a 30A circuit breaker with #10 wire. You could get by with a 25A breaker but i would still use # 10. could even try a variac so you can ramp up the voltage if your circuit would allow for it.

@@wyrtap5138 2 1500W Nichrome wire heaters in parallel with each other then in series. Tungsten filament bulbs have a positive thermal coefficient (PTC) with low cold resistance so high in rush current. Nichrome wire/ribbon has a consistent resistance. Always learning.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner lol. That is actually my powder coat oven I made. I built a timer circuit that pulls in a contactor for 30 seconds on and 20 seconds off. Not sure of exact timing I haven't used it in a while. Anyways, the timer is to keep the heat element from overheating since it is designed to have air blowing over it. No air circulation in the oven. The timer is a very efficient way to maintain the heat inside. I guess i got used to hearing it because sometimes it wouldn't even register that it is on while I'm recording something and people have pointed it out in other videos
