When I first visited the Island of Bohol, 25 years ago, I thought this would be the place to live if you were a foreigner. Wide open spaces, no shanty towns, no close neigbours, big houses, large land lots, beach front properties, fresh air, no factories, no constant burning, no karaoke, no constant barking dogs, no roosters, no constant beggars, no noise, no traffic. Just peace with a fairly small but modern city close by. You can get on a motorbike and travel around the island without fear of being killed by speeding lawless lunatics. Just a lot less agnst and people to deal with.

One time in Cebu told the wife we could walk to IT park,,she kept saying it was too far for me..Well gps said only 5 kilometers,,wife said it was wrong..After walking and struggling realized my phone was still set on miles😅..Learned to listen to my Filipina wife that day,,esp when in the Philippines...

15 thousand pesos a month is not enough now a days even if you are living in the city or provinces in the ohilipoines, its very high of costs of living especially if you have kids, renting a house. You need to consider too electricity in the philippines is very expensive to pay monthly. I dont understand why many foreign man are wanted to live and retire in the philippines. Before you doing that think many times if your retirement money is enough for expenses in the philippines because once you marry to a filipna not only your fiilipina wife to support you and need also to support her childrens if they have you obligade yourself to feed, sending her children to school and sometimes family members of your wife asking money to their daughter if their daughted are they breadwinner for them before you marry her. And some problems also if your filipina wife has no job she is always dependent on your support.

You only get a cheap battery on most cars or suv in Philippines 2.2 million I paid for my Honda CR-V after one year battery was dead , rang Honda and was told no warranty on battery the fact that it lasted a year was ok .
