In the introductory video to the series, I mentioned the importance of the hunting order. I have no way of explaining how the hunting order works or what causes moose to spawn in each spawn point if you change the hunting order. For me, it was trial and error. As I mentioned in the introductory video to the series, there was a time when I could not spawn moose at any spawn point, even though I was at the right place, at the right time, and was doing the right thing. So, what I did was go back and reload the earlier saves and try to figure out what would be the best order. For example, while I was trying to refine the hunting process and order, I hunted the moose in Lake Isabella “C” and as soon as I hunted that moose, it was like the entire moose population in the game vanished. I honestly have no idea why this happened or why the hunting of that particular moose resulted in such an outcome. So, I reloaded the save file before hunting that particular moose, tried and hunted at a different spawn point, and saw the outcome of that hunt in terms of moose spawning on other spawn points. This happened a few times during weeks of my testing process, and the final hunting order that I came up with was what you see on my channel. This was the only order I could hunt at all spawn points without any interruptions. This could be helpful to you if you want to test it for yourself. When the moose population vanished as a result of hunting the moose in Lake Isabelle “C”, it took about one month (in-game time) for other moose to start spawning again. I am not sure what your hunting order has been like, and I can’t suggest where to restart the process until I know how many moose and in which order you hunted. You mentioned that you could hunt at other spawn points without any problems. What I would like to know is if you started from the beginning or if you began hunting by picking random spawn points. I’d appreciate it if you could update me on this because I would like to know how to remedy issues like this, in case other players face the same issue. By the way, which chapter are you at?

Yes I randomly picked some moose spawn points cause I thought it's kind of tedious to follow some order)) ,what is strange that I was able to find moose in Owanjila even though I hunted it at the lake Isabella C. so the moose isn't vanished from the game at this point. Abot the hunting order I can't help you)) I don't remember it , it was pretty messy

@hyperborean. Btw on moose spawn point A on lake Isabella after I killed the moose always are spawning two wolves playing with eachother , does it affect the spawn point B and C?

​@@DeletedbyNS If the moose have not vanished, then you are fine. You have to keep going to the spawn point “B” in the 24-hour intervals until you get it. What I mean is that before going to the spawn point "B", save your game away from the area, preferably where I start the video. That is where the mission "Old Friends" in Chapter 1 takes place. Then follow the video instructions. If the moose doesn't spawn where you want it, reload your save file, and spend about 24 hours around the same area but Do NOT go to the spawn point while you are waiting. After about 24 hours, save your game again, then go to the spawn point again and see if the moose is there or not. If the moose doesn’t show up, reload your last save file, and stay for about 24 hours. Keep doing this, till you get the moose spawned at spawn point “B”. However, if, while you are trying to spawn a moose at spawn point “B”, another moose spawned in spawn points “A” or “C”, hunt that moose, then leave the area and stay away for at least 72 hours, before returning to the area, then follow the video instructions. This would eventually get you the moose you want. The two wolves you mentioned do not interfere with the moose spawn. Don’t worry about them, but do not interact with them while trying to spawn the moose. Keep me posted, and good luck.

I am sorry to hear you are having a problem with this spawn point. Allow me to clarify a few things. 1- Luck has nothing to do with spawning moose. If you have watched my other moose-hunting videos, you can see that luck is not involved in the process. 2- this is very important not to interact with NPCs, or get into hunting other animals. Bear in mind that the game offers you certain things. If it has already offered you (spawned) an Elk, it is not going to offer you (spawn) a moose in a short time. To remedy such a situation, I’d suggest that you stay away from the spawn point. In this case, go and make a camp in the Big Valley, away from Hanging Dog Ranch. Sleep as long as you can, which is about 35 hours. Stay at the same spot just for a few hours, so the game lets you sleep for another two cycles. Once it is about 72 hours or more, 1- Save your game. 2- Then quit the game. 3- Restart your computer/console. 4- Restart the game. 5- Proceed to the spawn point, make sure to be there at the time I mentioned in the video. 6- Follow the instructions. I have a question. As you know there are two other spawn points in Lake Isabella. Have you hunted moose at the other two spawn points? Update me, please.

I just finished spines of America mission, didn't take 72 hours break, woke up next morning and went to check on two moose spawn points: Cumberland falls and Wallace station. At first nothing was seen. And I had to clear the Mexican shooter event. There were npc camps and a fisherman. I rode towards Wallace station and found a 3 star bull. Later that day around 5 pm at lake owanjila I found another bull moose ( 2 star).

You can get the grizzly bear icon near Cotorra Springs, by studying the Grizzly Bear at Calumet Ravine. Sometimes, there is a Grizzly across the water from where I am in this video at @6:17. So, when you are crossing the bridge, it is on your left. Sometimes, there is a hunter there saying, “I can feel you in my bones” or something like that. If it is not there, go out of the area and return in a few in-game days. If you haven’t hunted it already, it will spawn. Good luck, and thanks for watching.

Thank you. I have tested my method a few times, and it always works, so I hope that players with OCD, who are interested in completing the game can use this video as a general guideline. To extinct them, my suggestion is to focus on a couple of spawn points and avoid moving between different spawn points. That way, you’ll have a better chance of finding the birds. It doesn’t matter where you go after leaving the swamp after stage one or stage two. Also, you don’t need to stay awake. Sleep as long as you can. It is the easiest way to spend time. About the Nite Folk’s note. Because of the way I play the game, my first encounter with the Nite Folk and the hanged corps is always near Lakay (where we camp in Chapter 5). I have come across this corps during both daytime and nighttime. I got the “Nite Folk Prisoner Note” from the first corps. And again, because of the way I play the game, my second encounter with the Nite Folk and the hanged corps is in Lagras, on the main path, under the letter “M” in the BLUEWATER MARCH on the map. I have come across this corps also during both daytime and nighttime. This corps is supposed to give you the “Nite Folk Wagerer’s Note”, but it really depends on certain things, at least in my gameplay. For example, in the early stage of chapter 2, when I encountered the second Nite Folk hanged corps, it didn’t have a note. I tried this a few times by reloading my last saved file, but the result was always the same. So, what I did was to ignore the corps altogether. I stayed in the swamp for a few days/nights and completed “A Fine Night for It”. The next time when I came across the corps, in the same place as I mentioned, it did have the “Nite Folk Wagerer’s Note”. I am not sure how the game mechanics work, but to me, it seems like the game wants you to make some progress in the gameplay before offering you stuff. I don’t know if it makes sense or not, but this is how I see it. You might be out of luck because if I remember correctly, you don’t want to do any mission for a while. That could be the reason why you can’t get the note. Why don’t you try to test it? If you have an empty save slot, use it to test. Make progress through the game, and see if that makes any difference. You have nothing to lose but a few hours of gameplay, but I guess it is worth the trouble to get some answers.

@@hyperborean.Thank you. Yes, I encountered the Nite Folk in the same point as you. And I got the Prisoner's note on the M Bluewater Marsh at daytime. What never happened to me is that I never saw a hanged corpse in night time, my problem is not the loot/drop my problem is that they simply doesnt spawn. And I already got all the random encounters (the one with the bordes mutilated, the trap with the woman crying and then they ambush you, the ambush simple passjng by and one hanged corpse. Guess I have to do a good nite for it so at least the second corpse appears on the map. Its crazy because you got more than two corpses during day and during the night, I just got only one at day time. I hope they start spawning a little more often. On my previous playtrough I got the two notes, but I can’t remember exactly how or when the second hanged corpse showed up. My only fear is that they STOP spawning, like the Murfree Brood hanged corpses, they are limited and they never spanwed again for me.

@@Nicolas.Lattanzi The second Nite Folk encounter does not happen at the same place as the first one. If you encounter them for the first time below the “M”, then the second encounter will be in Lakay, where we camp in chapter 5. They spawn there both at nighttime and daytime. Save your game near the little church and try. If you go towards the settlement from the little church, the corps will be on your right, next to the little patch of water before the settlement. If the corps Is not there, pass the patch of water and go to the settlement and back again. If the corps still doesn’t spawn ride towards the little church and then back again. Try this a few times and they will spawn. If this doesn’t work reload the saved file and try again. Don’t give up.

@@hyperborean. ​​⁠Yeah I know the location, got it on my previous playtrough. There is a location also near Hagen Orchads but they are very rare. I got one random event there with the Nite Folk, but is just the one that they just ambush you and that’s it.

@@hyperborean. Hey man. I just got the hardest Carolina Parakeet Icon! (Canebreak Manor) Actually, I got the 4 icons on one "chase". The spot I used to get the 4 icons is the spot located above from the "U" of "BayoU". 1- I studied them. 2- I used Cover Scent Lotion, it really helps a lot with all animals, makes the difference. 3- I killed the alligators nearby with my bow (Improved Arrow) so my horse is calm, please note that you need to take them with some distance because if you killed them near the Parakeets, they will spook anyway. 4- Once I killed the alligators, I aimed to the Parakeets in front of the Lakay camp. 5- When I approached them with (sitting on my horse) they spook and went to the sky. 6- Once they start going up, start shooting them (but not killing them) so they start flying towards the Lakay camp. 7- You want to sart aiming the one is flying to the corner of that camp (water side) because if you go across the camp, you wont be able to jkeep advancing because there are too many obstacles there, that's why I went to the corner side of the camp. 8- You want to focus on that specific Parakeet,so keep aiming at him at the same time you hourse is swiming. This is the hardest part, because sometimes there are too many gators and snakes on the water and your house spooks, you want to always keep pushing the calm button on him (R3 on PS4). 9- Keep aiming at him until you land in the map where the panther icon is, I killed the Parakeet once he was around that area (he must fall on the ground) 10- Right now you should already have 3 of 4 Parakeet icons on the map, you only need the one from Canebreak Manor. 11- I did a very stupid thing here, but I had no choice because the Parakeet was already too far from me, so I started pushing the Parakeet carcass on the ground. I aimed the ground with my bow (best weapon here for this task) and started pushing him until I was relatevely near Canobreak Manor. The Parakeet carcass never rots, so take your time. Be very mindful that there are very spots with deep mud, so keep an eye on the grass or solid ground so the Parakeet doesn't stuck in there. You can also be checking the icon by aiming to the Parakeet carcass (where it also shows the info), this is the method that works for the icon to pop up oon your map. Don't grab the carcass because it may not work that way, aim at it and don't shoot it. Once the icon is on the map, you can grab the carcass. It's important to say that I always went to that spawn location whn I wasnt yet at Bayou Nwa, this way the game knows you never went there. This way, the game undestands you go there for the very first time, which makes much EASIER for the Carolina Parakeets spawns ther in that spot. Ok that's how I obtained it. I know is not an eady way to get it, you need to be really lucky for the gators not to be so aggresive to your hourse, and the Parakeets go at the same direction you want, so you'll definitevely will need to try many times like I did. One more thing is, you want to always keep shotting (at the start) near the parakeets so you can "direct" them in the position you want.

I also reloaded a backup save file from right before hunting the Parakeets got the four map icons yesterday and am currently making a video. I also collected 25 of them and didn’t let anything go to waste. I however did not use your method. Your method seems to be very straightforward but somewhat depends on luck due to alligators. I used two spawn points to get the four map icons and then used a third one to kill whatever was left of the Parakeets. I owe this to you bro, because I wasn’t aware of the Parakeet map icons. Now I have to replay all the stuff that I had done, which is going to take a long time, but it is worth it. Now I can be sure to complete the game 100%. I am very busy right now due to Xmas, but I will try my best to upload the video in the next couple of days.

@@hyperborean. Cool! Yeah I gave up with the Canebreak Manor and that's why I ended up doing that method. It will help a lot of people if you upload a video for that specific icon. Where they spawned near there anyway? The nearest point (according to the official guide) is always empty, they never spawned for me there. I managed to spawned them on 5 different locations, but none of them near Canebreak Manor. It was super difficult for me to get that icon but hey, important thing is that I got all 4 Parakeet Icons. Now I have to kill them all but I just spawned them once so I reckon they should appear again in other location the next time. They will always keep pawning as long you don't extinct them right? I know the best way is to kill them almost in one or two rounds, I just want to know that. Shotting them with explosive arrows will almost kill them all in one go, the problem is that I would like to get some Perfect carcasses.

@@Nicolas.Lattanzi I don’t know where the spawn point near Canebreak Manor which you refer to is. Is there a spawn point in that area? The spawn points I used were: 1- Above “U” in BAYOU. 2- Next to “N” in NWA 3- Above “Y” in BAYOU. I didn’t bother with other spawn points because based on my tests and tries these three spawn points did what I intended. I tested this method a couple of times and is reliable.

Dude, thanks for mentioning this. I never noticed the map icons. I'll have to restart before hunting these birds and getting the map icons. It is pain the A**, but hey, that's how it is. Once I figure out how to find the map icons, I will be sure to upload a video.

@@hyperborean. Sure, no problem. I restarted the game, because I missed 3/4 Carolina Parakeet icons, and some other important stuff. I'm on chapter 2 right now, and my goal is getting 100% iconography (except New Austin, cause you can't get there with Arthur), all possible collectibles (like documents, cigarrete cards) all the possible trapper unlockables, all possible weapons, all possible challenges, all stolen hats, all clothes, before start doing main/stranger missions on chapter 2. That would be my first save, just before starting the main story/stranger missions. Thanks to the RDO Map, you can get every plant icon on the map easily. The only problem are the Grizzly bear icons and Moose icons. The moose icons are easier though, because you can lasso them ans skin them in the needed spot fot the icon to appear. The only animal you can't lasso are grizzly bears, so that' why they are the hardest to get on the iconography. I screwed up on my previous playtrough because I extincted all the Carolina Parakeets so I won't make the same mistake again. I already have 100% icons on New Hanover, Ambarino, Roanoke Ridge, West Elizabeth, and a great part of Tall Trees (got all the Grizzly Bears, and Mosse icons there, which are the hardest to get) with the Pinkertons on my neck. I got just one Murfree Brood Note on Roanke Ride from hanged men, so it's literally impossible to get the two of them because I spotted 3 different corpses and Arthur only looted them once with just one letter (Murfree Brood Prisoner's Note) Now I'll be heading to the swamps area to get the Carolina Parakeet icons as well as the 2 Nite Folk notes (on my previous playtrough I also got the 2 notes from them from hanged corpses). So yeah, I'm in the hardest part (I guess) because of the Carolina Parakeet Icons. My best bet is knowing their possible spots and aiming them with a large scope (unfortuantely I don't have it yet, it's locked in the game) but I least I got th largest sight with the Varmint Rifle, so I hope that's enough. Anyway, it's a pain in the ass but it worths it. It's very cool having almost everything early game, so you ending up having almost a "linear" game because you only have Main missions and Stranger missions.

@@Nicolas.Lattanzi I am the same as you in chapter two and want to do all the things you mentioned, with a bit of difference. I don’t like to use a lasso and move the animal corps to other locations in order to get the map icons. 1- I have already got all the moose icons, legitimately. I have videos of all the moose hunts on my channel. Check them out. 2- You can go to New Austin in chapter two and study animals, without cheating or mods. I have done some already and am in the process of completing them all, including the journal drawings. 3- Grizzly bears are not difficult if you know where to look for them. 4- The second Murfree Brood doc which is Murfree Brood Ransome note, you can get it from a group of Murfree ambushing you near Butcher Creek, north of Elysian Pool. The hanged man has only the prisoner’s Note which you have already got. 5- Nite Folk Notes are pretty easy to get and you shouldn’t have any problem. 6- I agree the hardest one to complete is to find Carolina Parakeets. To be honest I never looked for them anywhere else, since I hunted the whole lot of them as you saw in my video. Good luck Bro, please update me when you find Carolina Parakeets, including the time of the day and location. I will do the same.

@@hyperborean. The doc. Murfree Brood Ransom Note, which type of ambush is? Theres one I got it near Annesburg, you are riding and the horse stops, I looted all of them and ain't got it. The other ambush are the hanged corpses and the last one I'll get it eventually is the one that they drop you a chariot on fire, that's the one you are talking about? Because the other Murfree Brood events are not ambushes. The moose and grizzly bear icons I already got them, I just want to be pragmatic, I don't really care about get them "legit" since they would take more time to spawn than dragging them when I got the chance; my point is: I jusy want the icons, I don't really care about how, beisdes I'm not cheating the game because I'm playing on PS4 anyways. On tall trees, you travel there with the Pinkertons chasing you, right? I mean, it's not that hard to loose them, but is annoying anyways. My only method is capturing the assasin that left you notes, once I capture him, I trave there and get all the animals, the problem is that the plants are not available to harvest. I think is the earliest way to travel there wihout doing any main mission (this side mission is called American Dreams)

@@Nicolas.Lattanzi Murfree Doc: Go to Butcher Creek around noon. Save your game. Then ride north on the main path towards Annesburg. As you pass by Elysian Pool there is a place you will get ambushed. It is before the fork in the road which goes to Beaver Hollow. There are 8 of them (I guess). One of them approaches you from behind and holds your horse asking you to get off. I have completed the Herbalist Challenge 9. Went to New Austin by wagon. I wonder why you say there are no plants to harvest. Even though it is difficult, I like the challenge, so I don’t mind Pinkertons chasing me.

@realkorti You can fast travel, but you will definitely have to wait for at least 72 hours, otherwise there will not be a moose spawn. Good luck 👍.

Leave the area, and stay away for at least 72 in-game hours. (I recommend Valentine, or chapter 2 camp). Then return and try. (make sure to save your game in Valentine or Chapter 2 camp, before returning to the spawn spot). After returning to the spawn point, follow the guide, and in case it doesn't work, reload the save file you made in Valentine or chapter 2 camp, and try to wait another 72 hours. It should work, and there is no reason not to have a moose spawn. Be sure not to get in to gunfight or engage in any activities while waiting. Let me know the result. Thanks for watching.

Before starting the moose hunting series, my plan was to upload my playthrough. However, I got distracted by Moose and stopped uploading the playthrough to work on the series you have been watching. I'll most likely resume working on crafting the Legend of the East Satchel, by unlocking and crafting all other satchels one at a time, unlike other creators who hunt and craft all the satchels at the same time. Believe it or not, I've always had issues with the way other creators did it. I found it to be lazy, cheap, and disrespectful. After that, I would go for the Herbalist challenge, easily and methodically, including collecting the herbs from New Austin. Then I would go for collecting all the dinosaur bones, including the ones in New Austin, etc, but, I am open to suggestions.

I 100% agree with your statement about the details and scenarios working in the background to enable certain events to unfold. Not many players are aware of this fact. Regarding the 3rd horse race. I have had three horse races, but it was one race against each of the challengers. The problem is finding any of them for the second time, which makes it the fourth horse race. I haven’t been able to have the fourth race yet. Bear in mind that even if you win all three races against these three challengers, you just get rewarded for the first win and nothing for the other two. You get the speed boost reward if you win the race twice against any of the same challengers.

⁠@@hyperborean.I’ve never had a problem getting two races versus the guy with the white Nokota. There do not seem to be many conditions tied to him. I’ve run it with the Adler horse, Wrobel’s, an Arabian, and Raven Black Shire, both fully bonded or not. Just ride around Ft Riggs, Diablo Ridge, or lower Big Valley during the day time. But I’ve never figured out how to get get the brindle Thoroughbred lady in Rhodes or the black Standardbred man in Three Sisters/Van Horne to spawn with any regularity. I have no idea what conditions need to be met to run those.

@@crowhop I believe my previous explanation may have been somewhat confusing. It is actually quite simple to encounter any of these characters twice if you know where and when to look for them. In my opinion, these races are set up for players to win and obtain a few easy horse-related bonuses. I don't think anyone would ever fail to win the race unless the player is riding a terrible horse or is a terrible rider. Anyway, let me provide you with a bit of info as to where and when to meet the guys you have a problem finding. Ariel, the Black Standardbred A- First meeting. Ride from Valentine towards Bacchus Station early in the morning. The place where I made a fallback save, in my video about hunting moose at Bacchus Station. You get to meet him there if you are at that place around 7:00 and 7:30 in the morning. He asks to race to Calumet Ravin. B- Second meeting. (You might meet him at one of two different locations.) 1- Ride from Emerald Ranch East, and then North toward Annesburg at around 7:00 a.m. You get to meet him East of Emerald Ranch, under “V” of New Hanover on the map, there is Lookout Tower Clingman. It is southeast of Clingman on the map, on the road going north, and ends up under “E” of New Hanover on the map. (I don’t know how else to provide the direction, without showing the spot on the map) Asks you to race to Vanhorn Trading Post. 2- On the road going north from Emerald Station towards Three Sisters, before O’Creagh's Run. The best time is between 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning. Asks you to race to the Veteran’s Homestead. 3- Brindle Thoroughbred lady A- The first meeting: Right under the “L” of Lemoyn” on the map, there is a road going south towards Clement’s point. If you head south and pass the train track, then the wooden bridge. You get to meet her at the first T-junction on the road. She is there in the morning if there are no NPC activities, like Lemoyn riders robbing people and such. The best time is between 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning. Make a save north of the train track, where the Legendary Cayote is. Then go south on the road I mentioned. If she is not there, just keep going further south and then turn around and go back. If she doesn’t show up, reload your saved file and try again. It may take a few tries, but she eventually appears. Asks you to race to Caliga Hall. B- The second meeting. On the road that follows the Caliga Hall’s perimeter. if you look at the map, you will see two bridges coming out of Sait Denis. Make a save, around noon at the southern one. It is right next to “Caliga Hall” on the map. Then ride on that road towards Rhodes. Look at the map, that road looks like a “U”. You get to meet her before the bottom of the “U”, where there is a small T junction going towards Crawdad Willies. Asks you to race to Catfish Jackson. I hope you can make sense of my directions. The tattoo remark was just me being silly cuz the icon looks cool and the moose is my favorite herbivore. And thanks for the personal info about the Icelandic accent. I just could not place it like I usually can. I’d love to chat over a beer in Iceland. I was taught as a kid (in Florida USA) that of the two, Greenland’s climate is actually very inhospitable and not very pretty whereas Iceland is far more scenic and boasts gorgeous landscapes, despite their names suggesting otherwise.

Of course, I have the videos of all the hunts, including the one you are asking for, but I haven’t edited them yet. I referred to these two map icons in my introductory video at @13:43. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXXQi6h_a7yDeq8 As you know, I have been going through all the hunt videos, editing and uploading them based on the order I did my hunt. So, to see the videos you are asking for, you’ll need to wait for a while. To be exact, 5 videos to go for the first map icon which is the bull moose icon next to the “TREES” of Tall Trees on the map. To get this map icon, you’ll need to hunt a bull moose next to the second L of Tall Trees on the map. If you are playing as John, the best time to be at the spawn point is between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning. And 12 videos to go for the second map icon which is the bull moose icon next to Aurora Basin on the map. Hunting the bull moose that is out of bond at Aurora Basin would give you the icon. I showed this one in my introductory video at @19:39. If you are playing as John, the best time to be at the spawn point is between 11:00 and 1:00. I know this is not what you want and I apologize for it, but I have no choice but to follow my plan. If there is anything else, in terms of providing you with some general ideas, please let me know.

After giving it some thought. Hunting in the Tall Trees area doesn't affect the hunting order, so I can upload the hunting-related videos of those map icons you mentioned sooner than planned. Give me a couple of days to finish editing the related videos, and then you can watch them. I hope this helps.

Are there any guides online about black bears?? I can only get them to reliably spawn near big valley. Do you know of any maps online about their spawn points??

@@Ms__6141 I don't know any online map about Black Bears, but i do have a map of my own with at least 25 spawn points. It is difficult o provide you with exact spawn point not being able to show it on the map, but here are the general locations. 1- Mostly in and around Big Valley, 2- North of Lake Owanjila and Big Valley. 3- Around O'Creagh's Run, 4- West of Annesburg, north of Elysian Pool, 5- North of Annesburg, on the way to Willards rest, on the railway, 6- South of Brandywine drop, around the river on the east side.
