First! Nevada is great. If you're in the right spot(with Pinyons) at the right time of year, you can collect TONS of Pine nuts.

The kids went there maybe 2 or 3 years ago, it's beautiful, they stayed there for a week I think. It looks like you guys had a great time, you are not kidding about all the people traffic. Arik is a little to close Franco!!! Ugh I would have a heart attack!! You all are too close. But it looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for sending. Short rests are good! Arik seems so smart. Love, Auntie Linda

A few days ago I commented on your Huntington Ravine hike and talked about difficult terrain in the Whites. Your response referred me to this trail. Naturally I searched for a vid and watched one earlier today featuring a group of 4 in much dryer conditions. I was suitably impressed. This trail is like a Huntington on steroids followed by a Tripyramid north slide +. I think that in my prime hiking days I would have thoroughly enjoyed this trail but honestly I probably would have turned back at the first crux in the conditions you experienced, especially solo. Well and crazily done! Definitely at least 2 class 4 areas even in perfect conditions. I can’t believe the dearth of comments on this vid.

There are not too many class 3 scrambling trails in New England, this one qualifies in several places. There are a few spots on Mt. Katahdin in Maine and 1 or 2 on Wildcat. Maybe 1 on Madison Gulf trail. Of course this is an individual judgement call and some people will surely disagree. Some consider the north slide on Tripyramid as class 3 and I’m only commenting on hikes that I have done.

Good info. I've done the Tripyramids and was a little disappointed by it. Katahdin is def on my list, but its 10.5hrs from where I live, so that will def take some more planning. If you havent yet, check out the Trap Dyke on Mt Colden in The Adirondacks for another class 3-4 scramble

Best climbing vid of Huntington, appreciate the look at the hand/foot holds (most vids cut out portions!)

Connecticut doesn't have that much cool stuff.. Caves are minimal and tunnels

"I don't know if I'd call it the hardest" If you want it more challenging, move over into the rock fall zone.
