Interesting that there wasn’t too much difference between the 25w station and the 1kw station. I realize the 1kw will be able to reach further but I’m encouraged that I can play with this with lower power.

I have a question about guying. I believe you mentioned having a mid-level guy set as well as on the Hazer? I have a 50' 25G tower with a flat top and a Glenn Martin Hazer4 and was planning on guying at the top only, removing 2 guys to lower and then replace them after the Mosley TA33A gets past the top. I cannot figure out how to Mid guy without getting tangled in the Hazer when raising and lowering. Any advice or photo would be appreciated. 73's K5OOL

Nice video. Thank you for creating it and explaining it so succinctly. I host a KZbin channel that’s Mission is to help people get into ham radio. I like to show different methods of communications to encourage people who may have an interest in those types of communications. I’d like to use this video on a future show. I’ll be sure of course to credit your channel and put a link to your channel as well as to this video in the description portion of the podcast. Please let me know if it’s OK to show it on my show. I believe showing as many facets of ham radio as possible is important. This may be the key to somebody who is thinking about ham radio but isn’t sure if they want to get their license…Doing meteor scatter is such a unique part of ham radio radio that I’d like to cover it. Thank you so much, and the very best to you and yours, Larry de K7HN

@JDDupuy3 жыл бұрын
Kansas City to Canton Illinois = 254 miles straight line. And no it would not be moonbounce not on voice. 1296.100 is a Sideband Frequency. The doppler shift on 1296 EME is huge and requires us to run digital. The video shows the DB lose between running vertical versus horizontal. Larry has the ability to rotate his yagi from those two politicizations. This was over 11 years ago.
@elmismodealler67373 жыл бұрын
@@JDDupuy wow 254 miles is a very long distance even for vhf...in the past i have build a cross yagi antenna for satellite,i did the setup for circular polarization,1 cross yagi antenna transmitting at the same time with individual gamma match inch one and another cross yagi in the other side of the boom,1 yagi rotating to the right and the other yagi rotating to the the left,...///not many ham knows what i am talking about, I still have the yagis in my shed and i still have many pictures of the setup... If you put 2 yagis together one horizontal and the other vertical and you used the right calculation in the coaxial that goes to the gamma match ,you can make that one signal go faster in one yagi than the other and that will make the signal to rotate, and that is know as circular polarization ,,,depending to your calculation in the coaxial one should be short that the other and that will make the antenna signal to rotate to the right or to the left ,i never have to rotate my antennas ,circular polarization is like if you have 2yagis one vertical and the other horizontal at the same time...is the best setup....my English is not the best .i apologize for that....73

Well anyone who knows anything about the Kenwood TS-2000 knows they are Stone Deaf even with a preamp and they don’t have a very good filtering system either so you were working with a handicap on receive.The 500 plus watts you were running did not help your receiver.I hated the TS-2000 so much and could not believe what a POS Radio that is was and I’m so happy I replaced it with an ICOM 910H & ICOM 821H & either is a far better choice for VHF/UHF operation.
