've been wanderin' early late From new york city to the golden gate And it don't look like I'll ever stop my wanderin' My daddy was an engineer My brother drives a hack My sister takes in laundry While the baby balls the jack And it don't look like I'll ever stop my wanderin' I've been in the army I've worked on a farm And all I've got to show is the muscle in my arm And it don't look like I'll ever stop my wanderin' My ma she died when I was young My daddy took to stealin' and he got hung And it don't look like I'll ever stop my wanderin' Snakes in the ocean Eels in the sea I let a redheaded woman make a fool out of me And it don't look like I'll ever stop my wanderin' I've been wanderin' early late From the new york city to the golden gate And it don't look like I'll ever stop my wanderin' No, it don't look like I'll ever stop my wanderin'

Another stunning version of one of my favourite folk tunes, also beautifully covered by so many folk artists of our generation. It is however, the haunting beauty of the spirit of this tale, which like a voice enduring the mists of time, which always rings through every interpretation I have heard. Like the Soul of an ancient building, no longer inhabited, but still alive with its memories, reaches out to those passing through, in fond greetings. 🕊️❤

50+ years of your music (so far) and it's ALWAYS the best thing I've ever heard. You performed this (with Rosemary) at Universal (L.A.) several years ago and after I heard it, I was obsessed to chord it later that night and sing it myself. Like so many other songs you've written. Of course, I'll never match the sweet, mellow sound of your voice, but I'll do my best. THANK YOU for so many hours of my life with you in the background, J.T.

Beautiful lyrics with a hint of Cajun flavor. It could be the "Irish" wanderer who embraced his gypsy caravan on the road with ballads of love. There are tales of Spanish galleons which crashed in the Irish Seas with some seaworthy lads who made it to shore. My mother told tales of flamenco which evolved with Irish dance. Perhaps there is more to your connection with Spanish guitar?
