Cool looking trunk on this tree and the pruning of the canopy worked out nice for you. Nice pot you picked out for it and the tree will grow nice in it for you. Another cool video.
@SleeperBBQ2 күн бұрын
well I must say I was shocked. I thought the tree would go into shock with the amount of root that was removed, what do I know. then to see you trim new root 4 months later. Good stuff TY

I've had good success with ficus - not every tree would tolerate an all at once reduction like this.
@Whips_World2 күн бұрын
Very cool. I'm shocked you can cut off tha4 much of the root structure, and it will live.

I like the Bouggie! I live in Minnesota those they don't survive the winters outside. That means I was able to pick up a 12-15' tall vine from a local nursery for $15. I took it and turned it into cuttings. So far not much success but I do have 4 of the cuttings flowering already. In time, I hope to have something similar! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. I also hope your new pre-bonsai all work out for you too!

are the pots propped to create the vision? Is there a such thing grafting a cut limb back on? TY Rack
@BudgetBonsai3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting! The wedges are used to determine the best angle for planting in a pot and they help determine the front of the tree which is a major early step. So many grafting techniques in bonsai make it horticultural education experience.

I put a piece of Styrofoam inside the cup before drilling. That way it prevents the drill from cracking the cup breaking once drill goes through. Just a thought on that. I had a chuck hit pot. Luckily, it did not break.
