I'd say the back-kick of the pad should be over the back-edge of the back-center fin for the highest performance potential for the general range of shapes of HPSBs. And whether the kick-(orthogonal)-midline is centered over the back edge or slightly in either direction(1/4" either way) is up to the discretion or error of the board owner.

Be careful not to go too slow over waves. Certainly you don't want to get launched off your board but bear in mind that the water coming in behind the wave is going to be travelling downwind a lot faster than the water in front of the wave therefore you are going to lose power in your kite very quickly as your get pulled down wind by the white water at this point there is a danger of the everything grinding to a halt, kite stalling and you sinking into a foam bath especially if you are on a small board or tt. I try to not go too fast but definitely keep some speed to punch through. Bearing downwind so to hot the wave on an angle can help and lessen the angle of attack so as to reduce the chance of getting launched, it also puts the kite further back in the window so there is more power zone to dive the kite into once through.

I had the fortune of sharing Emma Wood Beach with just Ian (riding) and Patrick (shooting video). It was such a treat to be out there riding and seeing Ian work on his tricks form the view you get on the water. The best part was when he landed something incredible and he turned around and flashed me a big smile as I rode by watching the show! What is most impressive to me about Ian's riding is that it is so "relaxed and efficient" yet he moves with incredible dexterity, speed and scale.

also noticed that you are not sheeting in aggressively to initiate the jump. You're kinda neutral as you take off and only almost fully sheet in towards the end of the landing...This is maybe what I am doing wrong as when I go to pop and spin at the start of the jump I sheet in fully really hard and fast and then i end up over rotating or loopin the kite into a crash... your video shows you can take the beginning of the jump way less sheeted ...(unless you where really lit this day and where overpowered as it were not sure how hard its blowing in this video.. maybe do a follow up video talking about grabed/ungrabed airs and sheeting intensity or situations for doing airs)
