Interesting, the thruxton rs final edition is 1 grand cheaper than the supersport s over here. Metzelers Racetec RR are great tyres, bit squishy in the rain but i sadly have to stick to supersport tyres (which sadly all behave like that) since there are no 200 sportstouring tyres available which would perform better in this conditions. Tbh that racetec rr is a bit unneeded showoff on a bonnie, that the thruxton still is... like pearls before pigs, the bible says. Thank you for showing that bike in this channel.
@WilliamInJP
@WilliamInJP 11 күн бұрын
I agree unless you are tracking the bike racetec is over kill. I might look into the michelin classic and dunlop GP100TT I mentioned in the video, not as grippy but better longevity and wet/cold performance.
@ronr6605
@ronr6605 11 күн бұрын
@WilliamInJP the dunlop is 6 years old now, quite old in my books. Michelin are always a nice choice in the wet and Bonnie OEM. We also go 10k+km per anno always in the twisties since highways are boring. So for us it will be just any Sportstouring that fits I can find, since I got caught in Thunderstorms with crosswinds at time and that Racetec RR is a great tyre tho in that special occasions my bike did steer like a sled. I would trade in sportiness against safety just anytime. You will surely make a wise choice. 🙏 👍

Riding here is amazing - 100% agree. Cars also very MC friendly and usually will pull over on mountain twisties to let you pass. Love it. FYI you can fit the ETC receiver/antenna inside the tiny front fairing - at least that's how they did it on my Speed Triple. "yellow line means no passing" ...... when camera is on haha.
@WilliamInJP
@WilliamInJP Ай бұрын
The carbon fibre would block signals a bit too much so have it outside, and for the yellow line… well I like to stay on the non-annoying side for other road users so will stick to the law even with cameras off. Speed limit though, different story

@@WilliamInJP I've had zero issues with it inside of the fairing, but mine is the stock color one and not carbon. Not sure if it'd make a difference. It was the Triumph dealer who fitted it and recommended I put it there for looks - made me happy. Had the ETC on my handle bars like yours on my scrambler and it annoyed me every time, especially when filming - so found a way to fit it inside the tiny wind screen on that one as well. Both bikes Japanese mates always ask me if I do not have issues with the bars not opening at ETC - never had any. Obviously I could just be lucky ;-) Having to pay ETC charges in the first place sucks more lol

Wow ive got 3 bikes. 1 ducati 2 triumphs one of them being a thruxton rs. I totally disagree with you about the slow/unresponsive acceleration. Are you sure you arent riding in rain/road mode? Instead of Sport. Putting it in Sport mode after the 600 mi breakin period wakes the bike up. I can smoke anything on the street except maybe a street fighter.
@WilliamInJP
@WilliamInJP 3 ай бұрын
Yes it’s in sport mode, but I still find the revs climb and drop a bit slow. In the end I am still stuck at 4000 rpms so will have a better idea after the first service!
@KennethHorii
@KennethHorii 3 ай бұрын
In the breaking period you won't feel the torque and responsiveness. It is quite sporty after 600mi. I came off of a Ducati Supersport 950 like you, and once run-in is done, I would challenge anyone to feel much of a difference between the Duc and the Thruxton on the street. Same power, same weight, same ergos, brakes and suspension are comparable. You are used to a Street Triple and that is no comparison which is closer to a full on sport bike- lighter and more tuned for faster transitions and higher revs. The Thruxton is a brilliant bike. You are also riding on a wet road which is restricting your speed and cornering. I can hear you lugging the engine and that is why your feeling it is sluggish. It is not on dry twisties. Also, the mirrors don't vibrate like the Duc. Finally, I disagree about the exhaust sound and decel popping, but I don't live in Japan. In the US, there are options for more sound, although I don't feel I need it.
@WilliamInJP

the bike always comes with two or more keys when new, if you only have one this means you lost the master key too, hence maybe why the dealer is saying you need a full new set, including a new immobilizer and master key.
