@Hyp3rSonic Definitely. There is a lot going for this game, but at the same time, they don't do anything that unique (plus very short levels)

@@nightfight3games yeah going from Sonic to Tails and so on is the best way. Saves Gamma for last who has the best story and is one of my favorite Sonic characters, just be careful of Big

@crashwing3716 I hear Big's story is rough, but honestly, Big is one of my favorite characters, so even if the gameplay is bad, I can just celebrate playing as Big

@crashwing3716 It really is a great game! Very good level design and a lot of nice character moments. I've never played Adventure 2 though

@@nightfight3games Adventure 2 in my opinion is a massive downgrade in terms of level design and especially the physics. But I'd say it's worth a shot, maybe you'll find enjoyment in it. However do know that you constantly switch play styles in Adventure 2 unlike in Adventure 1 where you stick to one character. Overall, if I were to describe Sonic Adventure vs Sonic Adventure 2, I'd say that Red Mountain alone on its own destroys all of Adventure 2 🙃

@@nightfight3games yeah it did, because no matter what you think of the gameplay, even I'll agree that the story for Sonic Adventure 2 is great. Did you know that this was originally meant to be the last Sonic game ever since the DreamCast was failing? This is why they tried to go all out on this game.

@crashwing3716 oh shoot. I knew that the dreamcast wasn't doing great but imagine if they ended there... that would've been sad. Glad they kept going (especially since the next game was Heroes and that's my favorite)

@nickd6303 I've heard of something called Sonic Forces overclocked and it looks pretty cool. The modding community fo Sonic is always really impressive, so I might give it a try

@@nickd6303 It’s definitely not as well liked as Adventure DX or Generations, but what they were able to pull off with Overclocked and are-Imagined was good.

@Mysticalcheesecakez the levels were definitely way too short. (2.9 hours overall isn't great) Maybe that also made the story feel faster I really have to check out Frontiers one of these days. It looks awesome!

@Mysticalcheesecakez I feel like Frontiers is “Overcorrection”. Don’t get me wrong, It is objectively better than Forces but Sonic X Shadow Generations came to finally tell us that “Linearity” wasn’t the problem and more so what you did on that main path. Frontiers just felt bland after awhile with the reuse of assets and such. Sure the Physics are fun to use, but stuff like the Spin Dash is something you get end game because it is OP. Oh and Don’t even get me started on Cyberspace. Never mind the reused level design, but the lack of aesthetic variety makes it samey after a while, and the controls SUCK! 2D Cyberspace has some of the worst 2D Controls I have ever played in a Sonic Game! I haven’t played Episode 1 in a while, but definitely worse than Classic Sonic in Forces. Honestly, I’ll give Sonic Team a pass for Frontiers being their first attempt, but they REALLY have to step up their game in the next game with this formula if they want to convince me.

There was a similar problem with the levels in Colors, the levels were too short, too simplistic and it reused assets way too many times, granted, I'm only talking about the console version, I don't know anything about the levels in the DS version, all I know about the DS version is that a lot of people prefer it over the console version in terms of story

@@sb14andmore50 Asset reuse was WAY worse with Frontiers for being in 3D. Combined with the pop in, it looked like a massive clusterfuck. Looking at you, Final Horizon!

@gameman5804 Maybe "asset" wasn't the right word to use "gimmick" sounds more correct, they kept reusing gimmicks, the worst one is the moving spring

@@nightfight3games This is what I “Believe” on what happened, considering Nintendo being an absolute moron with the Wii U, leading to it’s failure. I remember both Wii U Sonic games not even hitting the 1 million mark (Not even Lost World).

@@nightfight3games It wasn’t. While I admittedly have no proof, I will say that even SEGA knew this which goes into why I think the whole “3 Wii-U Game Deal” was complete BS. Mario and Sonic 2014 seems like a cop out since it ran from 2007. Again, Sonic Boom was never intended for Wii-U. So that leaves Sonic Lost World, and considering the game’s heavy Nintendo Influence and even Nintendo themed DLC, this was the only game meant for that system. Nobody thought the Wii-U was gonna sell well. Nintendo only put that thing on life support with their business practices at the time (They were willing to ignore fair use on KZbin Content Creators at that time) It wouldn’t surprise me if THEY demanded Sega for another Sonic Game in the next year after Lost World.

This pretty much led to Sega deciding to have Big Red Button (Boom Wii-U’s dev team) to put Boom on Wii-U which led to all kinds of problems. The Engine particularly just wasn’t fully optimized for the system. Rise of Lyric fails, taking the rest of the sub-series down with it (2014-2017).

@silverandgold.37 I wish they gave them some unique voice lines during the fight besides that. There is literally no other type of shot in that fight besides homing shots

@oliwer_owo2212 I actually played it on my other channel (I tried experimenting with content placement, so there is actually a few touhou videos over there. I plan to do more on this channel, though at the moment I've been doing a lot of Sonic stuff)
