I visit China often, and as a European, it is really hard to experience these authentic moments. Seeing this video really pushed me to try harder. Do you have any suggestions for less well-known places that are worth visiting to find chinese traditions still alive?
@issafilm_29 күн бұрын
There are 56 ethnic groups in China. Each one of them has their own traditions and customs. Maybe you could do some research online to see which ethnic groups you'd like to visit, and normally there are informations about the areas they live:)

Hey - I love these videos. If you're ever in London we should shoot together! I'm looking for an on camera mic at the moment - are you using the "Videomic Pro plus" or the standard "Videomic pro"?
@issafilm_Ай бұрын
Thank you! I am using the standard one:)

During my visit to the Dong Village in Guizhou, I was fortunate enough to be invited by Mrs. Hu, the inheritor of Dong Chorus, to enjoy a Grand Choir performance. This is not a formal performance, but a ceremony to welcome guests. The villagers are also enjoying the performance with me, so there may be noise in the background. Because I was shooting alone, I couldn't take uninterrupted footage of the performance from all angles. Nonetheless, I hope you still enjoy the performance.

There are 56 ethnic groups in China, but as young people gradually move to cities, the culture and traditions of those ethnic groups are disappearing. And many original villages have become ghost towns. As a Chinese, I hope to use my lens to capture China’s rich and colorful national culture, which is the purpose of making this video. This is my first time making this type of documentary. There are many areas of improvements. Any advice is welcomed. And thank you for watching this video:)

You have such a great eye for scenes! Are there any films/cinematographers or photographers you take inspiration from? And how do you colour grade?! Beyond that, also admire your gentle and open-minded attitude & narration in these, especially compared to so many youtubers. Really enjoy all your videos.

Thank you for your kind message:) I do watch many independent films but I don't have a particular one for inspiration. I do very basic color grading in Davinci Resolve such as adjusting exposure and mid-tone. For all my videos, I try to retain the original scenes, both in terms of sound and pictures. I am really glad you enjoyed my videos. It is such an encouragement to me. Thank you!

You have achieved what so many of us Moroccan hippies are dreaming of, which is moving to Essaouira to live there .. since we're all heavily related to big cities due to the work opportunities that are only available in Casablanca/Rabat This city is "The land of love" for me, you can feel it in its air as soon as you arrive !!
