Busy-person-sailor, just how I liked it. Feeling the wind and the tug on sheets, tiller and the look of the sails. Would have liked to see some off boat shots.

@@jaemiewilson6005 Thanks Jaemie ..Can I ask what brand is the block I am restoring a 55yr old Mirror and will not be racing just cruising
@jaemiewilson60052 жыл бұрын
@@surferatapollobay1341 I think it is a old fico ratchet block, but a Ronstan or Harken ratchet block would work fine. It is mounted on an Allen brothers compact mainsheet swivel.

Nice! How is this dinghy? Forgiving? Easy to sail?
@jaemiewilson60053 жыл бұрын
Hi Roy, very easy dinghy to sail. They are designed as a training boat with very little maintenance needs, so can take bumps and impacts without issues. Due to their weight they aren’t all that fast, but you can’t have everything.

@@jaemiewilson6005 Hello! Thank you very much for your reply. I sail Laser at my club, it is nice but too "sporty" for me... ducking under the boom which is too low... See my movies in my channel. Thanks again. Roy

I remember a mirror dingy at it's boat show launch with all the component parts displayed on a board. There was quite a buzz around the stand. Followed by the mirror offshore,a year or so later. I never liked the offshore,but my Dad was quite keen. I thought what they should have done was produce a larger mirror dingy of about sixteen feet for the home build market,sadly the world got the offshore. Had a sail in an offshore once, more than enough. Sorry fans.

Been out of sailing for 30 years and was about to buy a Hobie 14 until I saw this and was reminded just how much fun it is to sail a Mirror with spinny etc. Probably more manageable for a 60 year old too :) Great Share, thanks.

how long would it take a novice to get to that standard.

Looks great guys. Just sold our yacht as I have a 1.5 year old and another one on the way. Looking for something a man and a child can sail in and I don't know why I didn't consider the mirror straight away. Used to have one as a lad and it's perfect.

Yes that is exactly what I use mine for. Good for a light wind Potter but can be fun as they get more experienced.
