Another very good representation for what the Tri-State tornado probably looked like at some points before it was rain wrapped. This is one of the first tornadoes I've seen where it literally just looks like a fast rotating massive cloud

Very cool time lapse. I am thinking of doing the same. Did your camera let you go beyond the 15 min. remote on limit? I have a D90. Thanks.

Was this the same tornado that hit rural Chester? I live in Cresco but I didn't when this happened. I have a few friends from Chester that remember this day.
@BlueSkyBust10 жыл бұрын
Given the proximity of Riceville and Chester with a NE moving tornado, this was likely the same storm if not the same tornado.

Yep, it's a Nikon 5100. I didn't want to change the ISO once the lapse started. if it wasn't lapsing, I would have messed around a bit with a 200, 800, 1600, and different exposure times. Really makes you want a second camera. ;)
@TornadoBob111 жыл бұрын
Excellent! I would guess that you are using a Nikon camera due to the ISO settings you used with that f-stop and shutter speed.

looks like a landspout. basically a weak tornado that isnt connected to a supercell. almost like a waterspout on land.
