Hate to say it, but years ago, people worked harder for a lot less money! No central heating environments, no bus shelters out the door so they could go and have a smoke or break whenever they, no mobile phones to call home whenever they liked, and any lip to the Boss (not even sure they have Bosses any more...) you got FIRED without a warning or Reference. I could go on... You don’t know you’re born today - and you still want more money for doing less! LOL Seriously, I agree with you. This was 1980.Sheena Easton was featured on a Show called 'The Big Time' when she was an unknown in Britain. (she was originally from Scotland) She could do no wrong in Britain with a string of hits. (at one time she had two hit Records in the Top 10 here at the same time!) I bought all her Records. However, she made a couple of mistakes very early on in her career. (in my opinion) She deserted Britain for America - I mean 'deserted'. She always claimed that we stopped buying her Records and that was why she went - but it was really the other way round I think. Many Pop Stars go to the States, but they still do stuff in their own country too - she didn’t, it’s as if she was no longer interested in the country and the Show that had made her into Star anymore, and I don’t think that went down very well here... But that wasn’t the only issue; she changed her style totally from the pure pop and innocence you’ve obviously seen and enjoyed here, and became more 'sexual' with the material she sang and the way she performed, and I felt we lost her forever - and we did, because she never had another big hit here after leaving Britain - she could have at least roamed between the two countries - but hey; she made her choice and that’s entirely her right and up to her. I just never liked it whenever she she said that we stopped buying her Records and that’s why she left... But I missed her Songs, her style, and her earlier material, which was a big part of the early eighties for me. It was a good time.

I know this video is old, but I just had to say, you mentioned people that got to see Prince live, I was blessed to see him live 7 times, and when he died in 2016, I mourned the man and his genius, but I also mourned the fact that I would never see him live in real life again in my life.

Ello gov'na the screen is a little blurry innit? I bet you buy that jacket with the fluffy pink feather boa, you'd look great 😁 Prince didn't give a shit he was going to do whatever his clever mind wanted, no limits, no staying in your lane bs, he was going to rock it, jazz it, r&b it, play whatever instruments he wanted, scream, do some splits all in one song. Other worldly capabilities. Time for you to do another Prince video. Try Prince - Shhh (Musicology Tour, Live in Detroit, 2004) Or Prince Live At The Brit Awards 2006 since you're British I think Tally ho! Liv4luv 0(+->

It’s easy to misinterpret this song. 'Bobby Brown Goes Down' makes fun of the stereotype of a heterosexual American male and his toxic masculinity. This kind of guy thinks he is afraid of losing his maleness because of the thriving women’s liberation movement of the time. He believes it’s acceptable to mistreat a woman, but not to grant her the rights she has been missing. Zappa addresses this subject in an exaggerated, over-the-top, ironic way. He is known for this kind of humor, and he intended to make people think about society's injustices.

This is what more reactors should be doing - feeling the feels. Hope that you know by now that Prince fans don't call ourselves fans except around non-Prince fans or unknowns. We are Prince friends. Because Prince said fans is short for fanatics and he didn't want his fans to be seen as dangerous.

I've seen him live about 30 times, haha!! 😹 He is amazing. This song, Sign O The Times was really popular at the time and had such an impact culturally. Arguably, though, the album version is the best version. It's so minimal and perfect, you could hear a pin drop. He is never able to capture that live, which I always found a bit disappointing...

Prince had such a strong, powerful message that sometimes gets forgotten underneath all of his musical talent and showmanship. Really, his message was deep, profound and powerful.

Oh, I forgot how good this song is!! Thank you for doing this!!! "We live in a world overrun by tourists Tourists, eighty-nine flowers on their back Inventors of the accu-jack They look at life through a pocket camera, what? No flash again? They're all a bunch of double drags who teach their kids that love is bad Half of the staff of their brain is on vacation Mama, are you listening? We need a new breed, leaders, stand up, organize Don't let your children watch television until they know how to read Or else all they'll know how to do is cuss, fight and breed No child is bad from the beginning, they only imitate their atmosphere If they're in the company of tourists, alcohol and U.S. history What's to be expected is three minus three, oh, absolutely nothing"

The g.o.a.t for me and mine. Most preformed music Prince was music. Still a few THOUSAND songs he finished we never heard. Over 300 fully shot videos we never saw.... let that sink in. He was a prodigy and could play any instrument as well as the best on that instrument. Amazing sign o the times was Prince at the top of his game to me

Prince starting : "You know... There was never any reason to Argue... " For all you can not know, There is a story behind this performance and the complete performance IN this Spanish TV show. There is a reason for his mood here. Prince was at war with Warner, and this program was conducted and hosted by a Warner hired , a singer call Miguel Bose who thought of himself by the way, he was the best in word 😂. The tv show have planned a Prince performance 2 songs and an interview with Prince by Miguel Bose. Prince arrived at the site early to record the program and as always, asked to conduct a 10-minute soundcheck with his musicians. The answer was NO without any reason, surely because of the ego of the host of the show and the Warner war.... What did PRINCE do? After several refusals by the program denying him his logical sound check, he thought about leaving and not recording anything. But it made go so much better. Instead Prince went into his dressing room.... and after a while that the host had him angry for nothing ... The TV show realized that better change mind OR not tv show at all .... Prince was finally able to do his sound check. His reaction? Not give any interviews, not even meet the host of the show and instead give away a big long LIVE performance (35 min ) because of his immense respect for the audience that was there, and all the viewers who would be watching the show on television who were not at fault for anything. Motherless Child was NOT programmed. He just decided to play it. He was hurt by everything that had happened and didn't understand Why. This is why you are watching THIS jewel... Love your reaction and comments. Now you know the context and the real life behind all his performance in this show... And also you have the clue for his mood and his words in the beginnig... Prince was an absolute genius musician and better human being,That song is how he felt again, belittled and mistreated . Just Love this musical jewel, just Real him exposing and giving how he is feeling Through his gift of music.

Name me any other performer who does this? Starts with the guitar... crazy solo...then picks up the bass and does the same? His band are that good because they had to be... he could come over and play whatever the instrument was...well!

I think I’ve watched that performance 50 times now? I mean I grew up listening to him here and there aware of him being sorts of a prodigy but this performance here really showed so much of his genius because we all knew he wrote songs but he could also cover them and turn them into something absolutely insane! I remember the shock when he died and now feeling profound sadness all over again because there was so much more to him than I had thought until recently. Really interesting, good person.
