👋 I'm 14 from Pemba I got me a 2018 canary yellow hs duo sonic' I got mine strung up and tuned to Nashville tuning 1full step down using 10 gauge EB slinky strings. The only problem I had out of mine was the pickup selector switch and had to replace it when I first got it. Once I got it fixed and played it' all the fans stood up and cheered and I said' thank you'than you ladies and gentlemen I really appreciate that' thank you and then all the fans cheered louder and louder' thank you ladies and gentlemen. While the Duo Sonic's styling doesn't excite me, I will say yours is a looker, that pickguard really sets it off and that red is sharp too. Also, I have a made in Mexico Meteora, and I have loved that thing since I got it. Not a single workmanship problem, my only complaint is it is on the heavy side, but I love playing it so much that I only notice how heavy it is when I put it down to play another guitar that's two pounds lighter.

If this had an offset vibrato, I would have bought one on sight. I know I could just mod it, but that would require a lot of work in addition to buying the vibrato, and different bridge, and however I choose to mount the bridge pickup. It’s still a killer guitar! I just wish that either Squier or Fender made an offset Tele with the vibrato. I’m always surprised that no models of offset tele that I’ve seen have had a vibrato.

Hi! You just landed in my feed here in NYC. Gave you a follow. Really like your style. This is a very fair and well explained comparison between these guitars. Seems like you launched about a month ago. Good luck with your KZbin journey! FYI, you should also check out The Guitar Rabbi (look him up cause I can’t seem to post his info). He tells his story in more detail if you go back to his first video and explains where both guitar and religion become his two primary focuses in life. Interesting stuff! I bet you’d both get on nicely - maybe you could do some collabs in the future! Aside from having some common interests in both religion and guitar, both have a way of presenting and telling the guitars’ stories that uniquely comes from pulpit and ordained religious experience. Just a thought. You can tell him I suggested it in case you feel weird about doing it. I’ve watched his channel for a while (though I haven’t commented recently). 🎸😎👍🏻

great information! I bought the 1303 in silver a few months ago from Pro Audio...I play acoustic and have the Silvertone as a couch guitar. I play it when my fingers hurt from the acoustic or when I don't want to wake anyone up. I just have an acoustic amp. I really like the guitar though. Its very comfortable to play, it looks great and it is fairly light. The fretboard is very smooth, and the frets seem chunky. The coke bottle headstock is unique. I'm pulling for this brand. It's hard to do something different and succeed in the guitar market.
@TheRevDr
@TheRevDr 11 күн бұрын
@@christopheryack580 hey thanks so much for all the feedback! I can definitely see how this would make a great electric for a primarily acoustic player. I agree all around. Also the head shape is really cool as you say. I plan to do a very short video about why the headstock is actually better than a Gibson style because the strings are straighter (and therefore easier to tension and keep in tune). If you look at a PRS headstock its a different shape but the way the strings pull through the nut is quite similar going straight up to tuners. I'm also pulling for the brand and hope the new owners can revive it. Thanks for the comments!

I have a Squier Tele and the edges of the fingerboard are very nicely rolled, How is that guitar? Not sure if the binding would keep them from rolling the edges or not. Also, I would have thought Sweetwater's 55 point inspection should have caught the saddles being out of alignment. The device on the neck pocket is for changing the neck angle without shims. Fender calls it a 'micro-tilt adjustment' on their models that include it. These are also thin polyurethane finishes, not nitro. You can test an inconspicuous area even with isopropyl alcohol and it will fog up and start removing it almost immediately on nitro. Poly it will just bead off. Modern guitars are mostly UV cured polyester finishes, which they can coat on thick and are often called 'hard candy' type of finishes because of the thickness. I have this exact same guitar in the same color.

I spent a VERY frustrating night many years ago when swapping pickups in my Peavey- every time I tightened down the pickguard, the guitar would go silent!
