La migliore Artista, per me. Spesso mi ritrovo ipnotizzato dal Suo canto, dalle Sue esibizioni e dalla Sua Professionalità... con tonnellate di Cuore e Studio ben celati dal portamento Femminile che la contraddistingue, da sempre. Qualcuno dovrebbe seriamente riflettere sul produrre una serie televisiva incentrata sulla sua vita, di aneddoti ne rinvenirà a quintalate immagino... ma soprattutto perché ha dato TANTO e non conosco altri Professionisti Suoi pari . Trasmette educazione, rispetto, preparazione, portamento, seduzione e femminilità del tutto inarrivabili oggi... e neanche a 360 gradi, ma proprio sfericamente oserei dire. Non mi stancherò mai d'ascoltarla cantare e vederla sorridere, ha sempre avuto un sorriso coinvolgente ed una Classe inusitati. Egoisticamente "mi auguro" il meglio per Lei, ringraziandoLa per "i regali" che "ha composto" e donato a chiunque la vedrà e l'ascolterà, magari scoprendoLa per la prima volta. Totalmente inarrivabile, complimenti... ed ho adoperato un fiacco eufemismo. Mercì Caterina. XoXo

Caterina Valente is remarkable. 'All-round entertainer' usually means someone who can do several things not very well. She disproved that definition. Her unassuming but endearing personality united her skills. 89 in January!

Diese Frau war ein Ereignis auf der Bühne. Jedes erreichbare Konzert habe ich besucht. Einmal habe ich sogar einen Teil meiner LP-Sammlung verkauft um ein Valente-Konzert zu erleben. Und obwohl es fast 3.000 LP´s waren, habe ich es nie bereut. Und würde SIE heute noch einmal irgendwo auf der Welt einen Auftritt haben, würde ich das Gleiche noch einmal tun. Es gibt allerdings Schallplatten, von denen ich mich nie trennen würde. Nämlich die von Caterina Valente.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING! What a fabulous performer she was! Used to see her quite often on TV variety shows here in the USA during the sixties! I thought then she was fantastic. Thank you for posting this great video!

Perry Como's variety show was in ratings trouble from a new sitcom, so unfamiliar names were rounded up to freshen it. Eleanor Powell had not been on TV for ten years, but she had made a big comeback in Vegas and New York cabaret. Her appearance caused a stir and she was asked back a few weeks later. She sang extended medleys of her old hits and got Perry and other guests to join in- demonstrating that she need never have been dubbed at MGM. Few things were an accident with Ellie. 'Follow in My Footsteps' is from 'Broadway Melody of 1938', one of three movies in which she co-starred with Buddy Ebsen. Which rival CBS series was carving up NBC's Como? 'The Beverly Hillbillies', starring Buddy Ebsen. And where did Ellie live for years? Beverly Hills.

She's totally brilliant but something when wrong with these TV shows in the 60's, like they ran out of places to go so ended up choreographing dumb ideas
