Hebrews also describes salvation as our ability to enter into Gods rest (7th day of creation, because time is only linear to us here), new Jerusalem being another heavenly world and not here on earth, and since a day is a thousand years to God, it could constitute the millennial kingdom. I get so frustrated when people blame Satan for their thoughts (there is ZERO Biblical proof that Satan can put thoughts in our minds), or when they blame him for disrupting their videos or sound systems, or plans, or a variety of other things. I am well aware of his devices (his schemes are always the same) but I do not attribute any power over my life to him. If people are having bad thoughts, they need to blame themselves. See Matthew 15:19-20 and Mark 7:21-23. If Satan (or his minions) ARE afflicting someone or putting obstacles in their path it is because it is GOD who is allowing it for HIS purposes. Satan didn’t ask God for permission to afflict Job. God asked Satan if he had considered Job, and gave him the authority to do specific things to Job to “prove” him. God was testing Job. Satan couldn’t do a thing without it being a part of God’s sovereign plan. So, if a believer is experiencing loss, pain, illness, or any of a million other hardships, they are being tested by the Most High. To produce perseverance (Romans 5:3-5), to look to Him for sustenance (Psalm 55:22), and to show the strength of God through their weakness (2 Corinthians 12:8-10). It’s hard to do, but “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” (James 1:2-4). I hope all of us will take accountability for our own fallen thoughts, and remember Who is in charge rather than giving any credit to Satan. He is doing exactly what God had planned for him to do. Preterist are the ones who place the Bible in the highest authority.
