O que vale na vida não é o ponto de partida e sim a caminhada. Caminhando e semeando, no fim, terás o que colher.

When James sings, everything makes sense. I feel like he’s a good friend talking to me when I listen to his songs. I have been listening to him for over 40 years now through all stages of my life. Through the good times and sad times, high school, college, girlfriends, getting married, birth of my kids and now in the twilight of my life

That is a disturbing thought. They spent more time making videos than music. I can't hear videos on the radio or my tape deck. Devo entered into that crossover period but they were solidly music over video. if they had spent more time on music production, would it have been as good? Sometimes you can overproduce an album and one of Devo' allures was their garage band here it is sound. AC/DC almost lost Highway To Hell around the same time because of shithead level control freaks. Think about that one. Highway to Hell without the Hell. Devo without....any of them. Especially that badass drummer.

It's hilarious to me to hear the Human Metronome talk about other groups that were popular around the same time that I was playing Devo on repeat nonstop. If I wanted Rock music I had Joe Walsh or Cheap Trick. Devo was that undefined thing. Record companies had coronary explosions trying to label them. They're New Wave! Nope. Not quite. They're Punk! Uhhh what? This crap went on and on until they stopped with the labels. That was about 1981 when New Traditionalists came out and they gave up with labels and just put the tapes on the shelves. They sold themselves. My best friend was walking across the parade field on Augusta, GA (Ft Gordon) with this tape blasting for everyone to hear. Batteries cost money. We sat down because i had not heard it yet. He played the entire album for me and to this day the impression sticks in my brain. New Traditionalists is probably the most well produced album of all time. I think they may have read Future Shock or something like that before they wrote the album

The Ramones were the greatest punk rock band ever. They basically invented the entire movement, they stayed loyal to their roots, and they were just real as can be/cool mofo's. They didn't try to be something they weren't and never really fell into the corporate rock BS even with how famous they were. The cool part is, they were their each individual person that didn't need act like they were the shit... They just were. RIP to all the original members. Greatest punk band ever.
