If you are too shy to shout out the destination to the mini bus drivers, the only solution is to wait and see if other pax has the same or close destination as you. Then you don’t have to open your mouth if he or she did it. But it would make you a very worried😂

Locally born and raised here. It wasn’t until my early twenties that I felt less shy to shout out my destination to the mini bus drivers. 😂

I am a Hong Kong native, born and raised. Although I have been living in Hong Kong for decades, I feel a bit stressed when taking minibusses. I feel a strong need to take care of the fragile spirits of the minibus drivers. If I call them too early, they may forget. Sometimes, when they are busy with their own loud radios, they can't hear me. If I call them too late, they may not be able to stop in time.

After few years in HK, you will uncomfortable the slow speed in out side country. Most HK people can speak English, except the 40 up old chinese woman (come from China ) and 60 up old traditional HK man.

As a HKer grown up overseas I see the fast pace is a sign of respect. Fast service means nobody gets hangry in this country meaning higher productivity and respect for all! Hahahha omg I love food here. Every where else in the world calls it fast food, we just call it food😉
