Loved hearing you play - would like to watch you make adjustments to the bridge. I'm considered adjusting my newly acquired Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II Pro.

That first one is such a work of art. Why don't guitar manufacturers make guitars with that level of craftsmanship anymore? Say, I always wanted to know and I can't find much info anywhere else, but are the first two Teiscos you showed semi hollow or fully hollow?

My first electric guitar was a Teisco, bought around 1966, together with a second hand 5 watt amp. I spent a lot of time with it.

The battery will actually require 12 not 9 volt the connections look similar , the org battery would be similar in size to C with positive and negative plugs one on each end rated 12 volt. Been on this path

I landed on your channel only yesterday.. one question though.. how do you feel about the input jack placement on the Emperor? coming from a classical guitar background, I would think the lead would often come in the way.. also, one has to be extra mindful when putting it down. otherwise, it seems to have a nice warm sound.

I think your EP-17T is older than 1969. The tailpiece and a few other factors would indicate 1964 or a bit earlier.

Interesting! I'll see if I can figure that out.

@JazzSamurai7 ай бұрын
Thanks very much! The 700 is also great! I think that's a bigger body, maybe 335 size. I think this 800 is smaller, but not as small as a 339.

I had one of the solid body Mosrite style - flat fingerboard-- gorgeous tone and build quality - lesser models were sold at Lowes hardware in the 1960's.

I played one briefly around 30 years ago and didn't think much of it... Cut to today and I tried another one in my local shop. I think it was a better version and had been very well set up, with flat wounds and a perfect playing action. At first ,I thought it was a little trebly for a jazz 'box', but soon settled into the way it responded. It took me around 10 minutes to get used to the feel and sound, but then it became sheer playing pleasure all the way - for the next 90 minutes or so! I [almost] felt like a real jazz guitarist for the first time.

It's pronounced "TEYE SCO", I lived in Japan from 63-66 and was given a SS-4L for Christmas in 1964 they purchased it from the Navy Exchange in Yokohama, also a Teisco 71-R 1964 Vintage Tube Amp with Reverb & Tremolo modules on board.

The GR100 is the “correct” partner for the G202 - the 202’s hex fuzz is simpler than the 303/505/808, and the GR100 has the full hex fuzz circuit. It’s a great guitar to play but I always feel that the pickups are a bit “polite” and quite thin sounding, especially the bridge pickup - might be why you decided to swap it out back in the day ? Wayne Scott Joness’s channel has the all the info about these guitars and synths you could ever need 😊 Hope you’re still playing and enjoying your 202 !
