The aftermath of a storm last longer than the storm. The cleaning up part is awful. It takes a lot of strength and energy. Money helps, but people have to do this work.

One of the few areas I haven't seen footage of yet, and one of the more stunning visuals as well. Did you happen to get down to Gordon Dr. also? Curious to see how the top 1/10th of 1% made out. Thanks for the video Frank!

If you like in the flood zone for surges why in the world would you not leave, you can't move your house but you can most certainly save your life and vehicles. Sad that many didn't heed the warnings and lost their lives

Natural selection. People think they know better, and lose their lives because of it. I don't see what is so sad about it. People die when they behave stupidly.

Someone bought a 'house' a few years ago a couple miles south of this video for $42mil, and leveled it. Is/was (still) building new construction on that sight, with a butler house on the property too. I wonder how it made it in this.

What's happening underneath the homes? It's foolish to think these homes should be repaired when the ground they stand on is probably compromised. Do you really think drilling into limestone so close to the water was smart to begin with? The sea will always take back what was hers.

What most people that don't live here don't understand, is that insurance companies won't write flood insurance policies for the 1st floor of buildings right on the water. Most, if not all, of this is going to be out of pocket for the buildings/ home owners on this road.

These people should pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Why should I pay for the wealthy to replace their custom drapery and Mercedes at their second homes? The military budget has nothing to do with this, but since you brought it up, national security is more important than luxury items. Did your Rolls Royce get wet? If not, the insurance for your Ford stills goes up so the Rolls Royce can be covered.

For the structures on this road, they don't have flood insurance, as it's too risky for insurance companies to write policies being so close to the water. Most of what you see is damage that will likely not be covered under insurance.
