The BEST thing my dad ever taught me! My roommate once had a flat(actually, she didn't know that tires require air,never bothered to once check the air pressure), and I kid you not, THE TIRE FELL OFF THE RIM!😂OF course she also had nooooo clue how to change a tire.So she calls me crying, saying the tires off.I thought she meant she had a flat.NOPE!So over the next 3 hours, I taught her how to change a tire.Then showed her how to check air pressure. And oil,of which there was NONE,windshield washer fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, etc.She wasn't thrilled with the lessons.I flat out (bad joke)told her that if she ever had car problems due to either stupidity or lack of BASIC maintenance, she was on her own.She actually took it to heart.She asked me to watch her for the first few times, and after trying to put ANITFREEZE WHERE THE OIL GOES, she got the hang of it. My dad,mechanic, wouldn't allow me to even get a learner's permit until I could show him I could do all of that. Basic knowledge has saved my butt multiple times.

Well the Chinese are better at building cars than we have been. It’s the only GM car we rarely ever see come in the shop for repairs. I own a US built 21 enclave as well. The fit and finish on it is absolute ass. 1 in 3 US built GM cars we see come in have fit and finish, panel gaps and quality control issues out the wazoo. Yet this plucky little Chinese SUV just trucks along.

I mean other than not liking that it's not like a Bronco (body style wise) or the old school Blazer's like the 99' my dad had is one thing but any major failure points or things that will break long term? I use a OBD disabler to disable the DFM so it stays in V6 all the time and it also disables the stop/start having the disabler plugged in as well so I don't have to keep pushing the button every time i start the vehicle.

@@keepinwarm8822 I love that’s your only takeaway from this. none of us are saying we’re the only ones. We all know it comes in cycles. The Silent Generation handed boomers a country that was on top of the world, booming economy the works. When boomers started taking over in the 70’s and ran into the 2010s what happened? Feel free to crack open a chart on our economic trends and politics. It’s only here recently our generation has started getting in and trying to fix the mess y’all gave us. Yall are quick to get mad when we point it out what is broken and what is wrong. Now politics aside this entire video was trying to explain why our generation doesn’t buy Harley’s. "Finance Glide" that's some funny sh1t. For a Harley, you're paying for the name, the sound and the look. It's never been a secret that Jap bikes are better quality and more dependable. Personally, I prefer my Harley over any other bike, but that's just me. I've owned Hondas and have loved them. You really can't compare them to one another. You either want and or can afford a prom queen or a biker chick. It's usually one or the other. You really can't compare an AK to an AR.

Thank you for your honest heartfelt comments.. this spring I was in the market for a new touring motorcycle, coming from an incredible reliable Honda VTX 1800f my first thought was a goldwing but before I was willing to lay down that kind of cash I did my research and looked into HD’s bikes. My first impression was the HD dealership was big and impressive but the employees were mostly greasy.. then looked at the prices of the bikes.. holy shit out of ballpark and then you need to stage out the engine to get them to run good/better… long story short, I went back to Honda and bought a goldwing DCT tour….and I’ve been incredibly happy with my choice…

The 2014 was the first year of the M8, so your argument is invalid. All first year of a new generation have teething problems. I have a 2019 with 61k miles that has been pretty reliable. Then you throw in the most expensive HD into argument that are not sold in great numbers, as opposed to the lower echelon bikes that the bread and butter. What suggest is that you buy a newer bike for comparison.
@beauxduncan6506Ай бұрын
@@josephmiddleton8584 i appreciate your feedback and suggestions. this one is a 2013 103 twin cam. Sorry I did misspeak on that. But it being that far into twin cams life cycle it should not have been as problematic as this bike and others have been. My comparison was between my bike and my brother’s Indian pursuit which seems to be on the same level as their structure seems. To what this ultra is. Even the lower tier bread and butter bikes are still overpriced IMO. There is arguably much better options at that price point. Plus with the extremely annoying high pressure dealership experience(I’ve tested this at multiple Harley dealerships they all behave the same), lackluster quality control, the whole BROTHERRRRRRR stigma it all adds up to a point of looking for a better option if you’re going to spend on a new motorcycle. I have tested a few newer Harley’s that belongs to friends.(2022 heritage,2021 roadglide,2023 street glide, 2024 sportster S) honestly the only one I was impressed with was the revmax powered sportster S. It felt like a breath of fresh air and however with the other issues surrounding the brand it begs the question of why. I do plan on purchasing another motorcycle to add to the fleet however i have to keep a bit of mystery for the content.

As a GenZ let me explain why Millennials and GenZ aren't buying Harleys. 1.) Reliability: Japanese motorcycles are way more reliable. My first motorcycle was my dad's 2010 Honda CBR300R. It has 390k miles on it and it's running as if it just left the factory. Probably gonna let my daughter have it when she gets old enough. 2.) Price: Too damn expensive for the quality you get. 3.) Noise: We don't need to alert 4 city blocks we have a motorcycle 4.) Performance: They're horrible 5.) Weight: They weigh 100000 metric tons I love my sports bikes, I have a CBR1000RR I ride on the weekends, but I will always prefer to daily ride my Goldwing. I would rather drag my bare balls across shattered glass then own a Harley. My Goldwing has 210k miles on it. I'm glad I live in a state where I can ride year round with no issues.
