@Logical Extreme There are more important things in life than bashing people and claiming they were wasting tax dollars on a meeting, It happens all over the place. A meeting is a meeting and clearly the majority of people that live there are behind the cops and want to express their disgust. There was one Cop on Duty and was actively involved you said there was three. Just because they are in uniform doesnt mean they are on Duty. The way you came across was in my opinion bashing everyone for just holding a meeting. You notice you didn't get one person supporting your'e comments are there was silence. You could have been more tactful in your point but it came across as a typical Kevin. Of course the Police will do and charge (If warranted) I don't' buy your argument why you left. , If you make comment expect a retort. The lady waited until it was her turn to speak just like you are supposed to do in any meeting. If people start arguing during a meeting then that is not productive. You held your'e tongue until you had your turn and thats exactly what she did. Bottom line I thought you were a prick. like it or not, I am not after any further dialogue but if you are one of those that have to have the last word then feel free.

Thats a dangerous job and harms community that need police. Yes most rural communities have volunteered fire dept but larger cities have paid fire end emt.. not all communities are voluntary with fire service

I agree he presented himself horribly and it is going to be a very costly mistake, it already is, but he does make some valid points...supposedly the Cops were out of their jurisdiction and it's a speed trap and Cops are constantly pulling people over just to get their quotas up

@Logical Extreme Oh I believe it . I'm in WV but I know exactly how Cops are..most of them get a thrill from arresting people, issuing expensive citations etc. I hate it. Most Americans fear & dread interacting with the Police. Although he did it in a way that got him arrested, I agree with the Mayor's viewpoints on this issue. For some people going 5 miles over the limit in a speed trap could mean almost $200 or more in citations plus points on your license , raised insurance rates all so these Cops can meet their quotas & generate revenue..especially now with Covid-19& massive unemployment, the economy is in shambles, a $180 speeding ticket could mean they cant make their rent or buy groceries or pay their electric bill

Logical Extreme Fun note- look up the phrase “under color of authority”. Anyone claiming to be law enforcement is either lying or very, very bad at their jobs. Or has dispensation from their agencies to use their employment as a status symbol on social media, in which case I’d be forced to wonder about the quality of that agency’s leadership.
