love this! thank y'all for checking it out. if my memory serves me right i think he said he specifically produced this song so he can perform krump. he wanted to showcase krumping and this is more a performance piece, per say, to introduce krump to china and essentially the eastern world, since it's not as popular over there as other dance styles. i love how he loves krump, cos i feel like it's up his alley cos he did boxing for a good minute too (not sure if he still keeps up with it). and boxing in my head is an aggressive disciplined sport, like how krump is an aggressive disciplined dance style.

The look and feel for "Move" is very specific, it's supposed to be androgynous and gender neutral. Early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was known for his feminine look. The industry thought it was novel and cute to play up his feminine features. Being recognized for his delicate image, ended up giving him a real complex about the fact that people never saw him as a masculine man. It took him a long time to accept that he was known for his looks and to come to terms with the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career as a 24 year old (He is 29 now) he was trying to make a statement about how he has now come to terms with just being himself and not caring what people think. Dancing is art and movement has no gender. "Move" is his title track on his 2nd Korean solo album, which was released in 2017. Fun fact: The blue color you see throughout this MV is supposed to represent the cool, chill vibe of this song, but pearl aqua also is SHINee's fan color, so you will see aqua/blue/green shades with most everything to do with SHINee as a way to represent their connection as a group and their connection to their fans, etc. And just so you know, those background vocals aren't Taemin's. They actually chose to leave the songwriters' vocals in the song from when they recorded the guide track. I have seen interviews with Adien Lewis, one of the original songwriters and he was shocked to hear his voice still in the song. Usually when a Kpop company gets a song from a songwriter, especially a foreign songwriting team, they will translate it into Korean and record all the vocals using the artists' vocals or other Korean artists, etc. So it's very rare that a songwriter would have their original vocals in a Kpop song, however, this was one of the few times where SM didn't rerecord or change everything. If you're interested, here is a short clip of an interview with Adien Lewis talking about "Move", kzbin.info/www/bejne/noXbk5SfjN6lo6M. "Move" features all female dancers because the whole point of the song and dance is supposed to be about crossing gender boundaries and how just because you are male doesn't mean your dance has to be hyper masculine. Taemin uses what is traditionally considered more feminine dance moves to show how you can merge both feminine and masculine styles together to create something that can't be singled out as one gender or the other. This dance allowed a more mainstream audience to start to embrace less traditional gender roles within Kpop. "Move" is one of Taemin's most famous choreographies and it has become the dance he is most recognized for. This dance has inspired what is known as the "Move disease," and it is said that the dance is so catchy that you can't help but try to imitate it. There are literally hundreds of videos online of people attempting cover dances to this song. (It is on the level of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance and some of the most famous TiK Tok dance challenges.) But no matter how good of a dancer they are, it is quickly apparent that there is just something about the way Taemin moves that can't be duplicated. Taemin is Taemin and there is no one else like him. The dance is never as sharp or precise as the way Taemin does it. That is why he is hands down considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the industry. As Taemin has said numerous times in interviews and on variety shows, the key point in "Move's" choreography is literally supposed to be to stare into the camera like you are trying to seduce the person who is watching. So, you are right, that is exactly what Taemin is doing. The female dancer who is the featured dancer dancing with Taemin in the MV wasn't just any dancer, she is the choreographer who choreographed "Move". Her name is Sugawara Koharu and she is a Japanese choreographer who has choreographed dances for several Kpop groups, as well as American artists. She has worked with Taemin a lot over the years and she is the one that also choreographed Taemin's dance for his songs "Want," "Flame of Love" and "Sayonara Hitori" and helped choreograph Taemin and her performance on the competition program Hit the Stage -- "Devil" performance, etc., and she was one of 3 or 4 choreographers who helped choreograph Taemin's "Criminal." Taemin and Sugawara are really good friends. She was also the choreographer for SHINee's song "Good Evening," among others. She loves working with Taemin because they are a lot alike, and that is one of the reasons why she has been featured in several of Taemin's projects. Plus, Taemin and all the members of SHINee, are also one of the most famous artists in Japan and they all speak fluent Japanese, so they have no problem communicating through dance or language. :D You should now check out Taemin's Dance practice for "Move," as well as a live performance so you can really see why this song is so iconic and discover how it literally changed the Kpop industry. Taemin has worked hard to become the magnificent and unique performer and person that we know him as today. But there really is no one that pushes him or holds him to a higher standard then himself. Taemin has said that he really has never taken a true vacation since he was a trainee -- he started with SM Entertainment when he was around 11 years old -- and he doesn't know what to do if he isn't constantly working and training. As he has said, there has never been anything that has come easy to him and he has only gotten to where he is today because he has worked hard to accomplish everything. He is constantly pushing himself to become the best of the best in everything he does. Taemin's choreography is very much influenced by him. Although he has input in almost everything he does, he has choreographers that come up with the choreography for most of his dances and he then infuses it with his own ideas and style and makes it uniquely his. The way Taemin dances is just the way he moves. His movements are effortless. If you watch Taemin dance a lot, you will see that no matter who choreographs the dance, it will always be very Taemin-like. Many choreographers who have worked with him over the years have said that, with Taemin you can't help but allow him to move in whatever way his body takes him. Taemin is art in every sense of the word. :D Taemin's style of dance can't be defined. As he has said, he has worked his entire career to create a style of dance that is unlike anything in the Kpop industry. And I would argue that that now extends to the entire industry of dance. Taemin started out as a self-taught popper and locker without any dance training, and, even then, as a trainee it was clear his skills as a dancer went far beyond the average dancer. Over the years he has infused those popping and locking skills into his now more contemporary style of dance. But, when it comes to dancing, he can do it all and there is no one better at it than him. Taemin has had a solo career for more than 7 years and he has been a member of SHINee for more than 14 years. He has at least 11 solo albums and SHINee currently has 13 full length albums, plus dozens of mini albums, singles, repackaged albums, etc. And he is also a member of SuperM. So you won't run out of Taemin content to watch for a very long time. ;p Taemin has even held several solo concerts, as well as more than 100 concerts as a member of SHINee and a world tour as a member of SuperM.

Because WayV -- which stands for We Are Your Vision in English -- or Weishen V in Chinese -- which means "gods of vision" -- is a sub-unit of NCT, NCT's whole dream concept is also part of WayV's storyline and concept. (Hence, why in the lyrics of "Phantom" they say "only I can see the truth," and they talk about having the vision, etc.) As with everything NCT does, it all has to do with dreams, dreaming or something to do with being in a dream state. Plus, they are thought to be gods who have a vision for the past, present and future. Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that WayV's storyline also connects to EXO's and SuperM's storylines. For example, in their "Phantom" MV we see the red moon or planet with YangYang holding up the moon, which I think is also probably connected in some way to the fact that in WayV's "Moonwalk" lyrics they talk about taking over the moon. And it's also probably connected to WayV's other MVs, as well as EXO's and SuperM's storyline, because everything EXO does is also connected to the moon, other worlds and other dimensions, etc. It's all part of the SM Culture Universe. Although WayV's "Phantom" MV is loosely based on the concept of the Phantom of the Opera, a phantom is just another name for a ghost or apparition, so I really think the song is about a phantom in general, not specifically the phantom that haunts the opera house. I think the song is more about the image of someone or something that haunts your thoughts or memories, etc. that seems to be affecting or controlling all aspects of your life, manipulating you like a puppet on a string. Currently, there are 7 members in WayV: Ten and Lucas debuted first as members of NCT-U and they are also members of SuperM; Winwin first debuted as a member of NCT-127 and NCT-U, and Kun -- the leader of WayV -- originally debuted as part of NCT-2018; and Xiaojun, Hendery and Yanyang debuted specifically as members of WayV at the beginning of 2019 when WayV was formed. > Kun -- the one with the red hair -- is the oldest who is 27. He is a lead vocalist. > Ten -- the guy with the mullet hairstyle -- is 27 and he is Thai, but his grandparents are Chinese and he attended an international school in Thailand where they spoke English most of the time, so he is fluent in English. (He is the NCT member who is fluent in the most languages -- on top of being fluent in Thai, English, Korean and Mandarin, he is also learning Japanese); he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and a center of WayV. He is also the NCT member with the most solo songs. > WinWin -- the one with the deep voice who throws the knife at the heart -- is 25 years old and he is a lead vocalist, lead dancer and sub-rapper. (He is trained in traditional Chinese dance and attended one of the most prestigious dance academies in China. He was also admitted to a very important dance program at University -- similar to the Chinese equivalent of Julliard.) > Xiaojun -- the guy with the gray hair -- is 23 and he is the main vocalist and the one with the high notes most of the time. > Hendery -- the one with the crazy eyes -- is 23 and he is from Macau China, so he also speaks Cantonese; he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper. > Yangyang -- the blond -- is the youngest at 22 years old. He is Taiwanese, but he lived in Germany for a while and attended an international school, so he is also fluent in English and proficient in German; he is the main rapper. > *Not in the MV. Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, so his native language is Cantonese and he is 24; he is a lead rapper, vocalist and the visual of WayV. (However, due to a dating scandal and other controversies, Lucas has been on hiatus for more than a year now, with no indication as to if or when he will be able to return to NCT.) The only reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name like the other 3 NCT sub-units is because, at the time of their debut, there was a lot of political issues between Korea and China, and because of that Korean companies were not able to work in China. NCT's Chinese sub-unit has been going to debut for years, but with all the political issues it took SM Entertainment a long time to find a way to work around all the rules the Chinese government put in place to prevent its native Chinese citizens from working with anyone associated with Korea and preventing anyone who was working with a Korean company from working in China. So in order to circumvent some of China's restrictions, SM found/created a Chinese company that was willing to take on NCT's Chinese sub-unit, but also allow SM to have a say in the group's concept and promotion activities. Part of how they get around the rules is they gave the group a name that distances them from their Korean roots. (That is also why WayV's Chinese fans are called WayZenNi instead of NCTzens and why WayV has their own lightstick design that is different than NCT's, etc.) The company WayV is under is called Label V which is part of SM, but separate from the Korean branch of the company and it produces songs in Mandarin to keep the Chinese government happy. All the members of WayV also speak Mandarin and have some connection to Chinese heritage, but most of the members are not native mainland Chinese citizens, so this gives them some immunity from the Chinese government. But they are representing China and they are promoting Chinese culture, so the Chinese government kind of turned a blind eye to the fact that they are technically still under a Korean company, as long as they hid any connection to their Korean company while doing promotions in China. As you can see, not only do the WayV members speak, Mandarin, Korean and English, but they are a very international group that speaks many languages. So, pretty much all of WayV's songs are in Mandarin with a few English lyrics and words mixed in. (Except when it's an English version, such as "Bad Alive" or their all English version of "Love Talk," or their English song "Miracle", or if you happen to pick the Korean version of some of their songs.) LOL Because WayV is the Chinese unit, but they are releasing music in Korea and promoting in Korea, not specifically in China, SM is more likely to produce their songs in English. Hence, why several of WayV's previous songs are English songs, because -- due to the pandemic, political issues, Lucas being on hiatus, etc. -- they aren't promoting as a group in China right now. I think it helps SM avoid any crossover issues with Korea that might make it more difficult for them to promote in China in the future. You should now check out one of WayV's live performances of "Phantom" because the song and choreography is even better when you see and hear it live. (If you watch their MCountdown comeback stage, you will even get to hear the English version of the song.) And you definitely need to check out the dance practice. Out of all of NCT's sub-units, WayV is particularly known for their synchronization and their impressive dances.

In Lay's "Veil" MV the silver tiles we see are silver Mahjong tiles. Which is a game that is made up of tiles a little like dominos. Lay's just happen to be extra fancy silver to show his status, etc. On one tile you see the Chinese character for East, which is his previous album that "Flying Apsaras" is on, and another was the Chinese character for West, which is his current album title. On one of Lay's first solo albums Sheep, he has a song called "Mask" and it's all about striving to keep on the right path and to accomplish his goals even in the face of adversity, as he struggles to be accepted and understood. It's about not letting others influence your choices when you know the direction you are headed is right and to believe in yourself, etc. So an alternate message in "Veil" could be that he is now taking the mask off and he no longer has to hide who he really is because he has accomplished some of his goals and he is learning what path he needs to take in order to find the success that he is looking for, etc. Or he is telling others that they should be brave enough to take the mask off, etc. Check out this clip of Lay on the survival reality competition show Idol Producer, where he explains to a group of trainees the meaning behind "Mask," kzbin.info/www/bejne/bICymqawgtKlhJI. Lay has also posted two dance practice videos for "Veil". You are in for a treat when you check them out. The MV was the English version of the song, however, in his first "dance practice"/performance video you can hear the Chinese version of the song. Lay has branded his style of music as M-Pop, which he says stands for mixed-pop, meaning that he combines traditional Chinese sounds and instruments, like you hear in this song, with modern hip-hop and pop beats and styles, to create a style all his own. And he showcases traditional forms of dance by combining them with modern dances in order to bring Chinese/Asian/Eastern culture to the world in a new way. As with everything Lay does, this whole song, MV and choreography was created by him. Once again, he wrote and composed and produced this song and the whole album himself, including the English lyrics. He even created the beats himself. And he also helped choreograph and direct the MV, etc. When it comes to Lay's solo work he pretty much does it all himself. He has a hand in all aspects of his solo projects. And that is why he is known as China's national producer.

"What is Love" actually features the 4 main vocalists of EXO, so, in the EXO-K (Korean) version you only hear D.O.'s and Baekhyun's voices, but when you watch the EXO-M (Mandarin) version you will see Chen and Luhan as the singers. These are the main vocalists from their respective groups. However, in the MV you see all 12 members. The rest of the members aren't singing the song, but they are helping to tell a story. In the beginning EXO had 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China) but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 members.) However, now -- because they no longer have enough Chinese members -- they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produce almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin they just now promote all as one big group EXO with 9 members. Although, since 2016 Lay has not been able to participate in EXO activities because of political issues between Korea and China, so you will see 8 members in most things after that. Although "What is Love" is a love song, the MV really doesn't have a whole lot to do with love. The storyline in the MV is all about EXO's origin story and it is showing the members as they first arrived here on Earth. This was their very first pre-debut MV -- about 3 or 4 months before their debut with "Mama" in 2012 -- so it is setting up EXO's storyline and it's showing the members. This was before most people really even knew who EXO were. If you think D.O.'s and Baekhyun's version was amazing, just imagine what Chen's and Luhan's version is like. It has a slightly different feel because it has a sound and style that is designed to appeal more to a Chinese audience, but it's no less amazing. There's a reason why EXO has 3/4 main vocalists. Now to explain the story in the MV: As you may have noticed, you see an eclipse is happening. EXO's whole concept and storyline is that they are aliens who came to Earth to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. And as otherworldly beings, the members each have a superpower that is specific to them. The eclipse is what controls EXO's powers and it's where they get their power and strength from. So, that is why you see in most of their MVs that they focus on the moon or show an eclipse taking place, etc. EXO are aliens so staring at an eclipse or the sun doesn't affect them in the same way. After all, they come from Planet Exo, which has two suns. LOL In the scenes were you see D.O and Baekhyun singing that is thought to be showing clues to EXO's storyline, such as the light that is streaming through the holes in the walls is thought to be representing Baekhyun's superpower, which is the ability to control light, and the fact that the room they are in is kind of disheveled could be after D.O. used his power of force. You also see scenes such as Chanyeol (a member of EXO-K) looking at a drawing of a unicorn and comparing it to a hieroglyph of a unicorn on a piece of rock, which is thought to be something to do with the fact that he is searching for Lay (an EXO-M member). Lay's symbol is a unicorn, which represents his power of healing. I think the rocks are clues that may have been left on Earth or on Planet Exo from ancient times. (You will see these symbols all over the place in EXO content because each member has a symbol that represent them -- as you discover in their "Mama" MVs -- and their symbols are often used kind of like a call beacon. When one member is looking for another member, or they want to send a member a message, you will see a version of their symbol appear. It's a way to know who the message is coming from and it's designed to make everyone aware that it's something important that you need to pay attention to.) Think of the message on those rocks like Egyptian hieroglyphs. Therefore, I see it as EXO has to find the clues that someone has left from the past. Just like in real life history, often ancient civilizations have left us clues to tell their story in order to make sure whatever happened to them doesn't get repeated. Therefore, I think someone has left EXO clues, just in case sometime in the future the Red Force was able to gain power once again. Hence, why in EXO's next pre-debut song "History" they talk about not wanting to allow whatever happened previously to repeat itself (i.e. they need to stop and prevent history from repeating itself. And they need to learn from history by discovering clues that will help them understand what happened in the past, in order to figure out a way to make sure the same mistakes aren't repeated, etc.) And because it is thought that the EXO members can travel between time periods and dimensions, this could also mean that the clues could have possibly been left for them by their future selves. The future EXO members have traveled back in time to leave a message for the present day EXO members in order to help them figure out how to stop the Red Force and prevent whatever happened in the future from taking place, etc. The clues I think are something they need in order to find the Tree of Life and to do whatever needs to be done in order to create peace in the world once again, and free humanity and EXO from the control of the Red Force. Which will allow the Tree of Life to be whole once again and be at peace, no longer being used as a potential weapon by the Red Force, etc. In reality, I think the Red Force could be thought of as a symbol of all the things society is dealing with in the world and all the bad things that need to be fixed, such as war, hate, destruction of the environment, corruption, etc. I think SM's wide-reaching message within their SM Cultured Universe and EXO's storyline is the dream of world peace. Therefore, I'm not sure we will ever see an official end to EXO's storyline or the SM Culture Universe story because World Peace is such a lofty goal that will never be accomplished fully. So in other words, EXO's story may be an open ended one that never gets solved. I think the whole point of SM creating this storyline is because it's supposed to be a social commentary on what real life society needs to learn and do in order to create a better world. Think of everything in the SM Culture Universe, and EXO's storyline, as a metaphor for what is happening all around us every day and what we have gone through in the past and will go through in the future if we don't learn from our mistakes, etc. In the MV for "What Is Love," you see clips from some of their pre-debut teaser videos. All the clips in the MV are special clips that were originally released one at a time on their own to introduce EXO to the world, before the group's official debut. Before EXO debuted, SM released 23 teaser videos over a 3 month period and the videos showcased the members and their talents, such as Kai's special dances and Tao's martial arts skills, as well as told a story about EXO who are on a quest to find each other and to find clues to locate the Tree of Life, etc. Kai was the member that was featured in the most teasers -- somewhere around 10 videos. The "What is Love" MV takes clips from those teaser videos and puts them together to make the MV. Months and years later, we have also discovered that the teasers also were teasers to EXO's discography of songs. At the time, when the teasers were released, we had no idea the significance of the songs that you hear in the teasers. But now, over the years, we have discovered that the majority of the songs that were featured in EXO's pre-debut teasers were also meant to be teasers to songs that would be released as some of the main tracks of EXO's albums. All the teasers are still on SM's KZbin channel if you want to check them out. If you watch the teasers, you will see how planned out everything EXO is involved in actually is. Most of the songs that they released even years after debut were songs that were teased to in their pre-debut teaser videos. That just goes to show you why we say that everything EXO does comes back to their storyline. :D Absolutely everything has been planned out down to the most minute detail for years in advance and for years to come. However, not all of the songs you hear in the teasers were songs that made it to the albums, or maybe they are songs that haven't been released yet. There are several songs in the teasers that we still don't know. Maybe they are songs that have not been released yet, or maybe they may never exist as a full song. It's another part of EXO's mystery that we are waiting to discover. So, if you want to follow EXO's story, you have to watch both "What is Love" MVs to see the different clips and try and figure out the story it is trying to tell. EXO's MVs may look similar, but in each version there are hidden messages and Easter eggs that SM puts in each MV that tell a little more of the story, even still today. Plus, in the Korean version they highlight the 6 EXO-K members, where in the Mandarin version they highlight the EXO-M members. It's a common misconception that just because EXO's two MVs look similar on the surface that you don't need to watch both versions, but if you skip the Mandarin version of EXO's MVs -- especially these early MVs when they were still a full group with 12 members -- I guarantee you are going to miss a key part of their story. Plus, you miss out on hearing the EXO-M members and what the song sounds like in Mandarin.

Kai's "Rover" lyrics and MV can be interpreted in two ways. One way is that the song talks about Kim JongIn (Kai is his stage name), his life and who he is as an artist and person. The other interpretation I think is meant to tell his EXO character Kai's story and continue EXO's storyline. To understand what is happening in Kai's "Rover" MV, you have to first understand EXO's storyline and concept. As a member of an SM group, for anyone who knows SM, it's no surprise that Kai is such a great singer and performer. You can't be an SM artist without having superior vocals and dance skills. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their visuals, vocals and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get hyper focused training as vocalists. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And EXO are a great example of that. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers on a mission to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them. So, each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years, we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. One of the reasons why "Rover" was chosen for Kai's title song is because the concept of the song and MV was designed with Kai's storyline in mind. To understand why Kai is Mr. Rover, you have to be aware that everything the EXO members do is usually connected to EXO's storyline and concept, even the member's solo projects. Kai's superpower in EXO is the ability to teleport, which is why in the "Rover" MV we see him blink in and out of scenes and at the end he disappears as he dives off the stage, etc. The MV is literally showing how he is Mr. Rover -- a rover is someone who roams, travels, wanders all over the place. Kim JongIn was given the stage name Kai because it means opening in Chinese and he is supposed to be the one who opens the doors and travels between time and space and dimensions, etc. to connect all the EXO/SuperM members together, which is why his superpower is teleportation. If you notice, at one point in the MV we see Kai's face is bruised up and it looks like he might have been in a fight. Because Kai can teleport and appear at any time and place he wants to, the fight in which he was injured could have happened at any time or place. it doesn't necessarily mean it took place at that exact moment in the "Rover" MV, and it may not even have anything to do with the storyline of "Rover" specifically. For all we know, he is appearing in "Rover" after traveling from another place within EXO's storyline. The fight may have happened in a different location, time or dimension, and it's even thought that EXO -- or specifically Kai -- can time travel to different times and places throughout history. It's probably another one of those scenes that is meant to create connections in EXO's storyline and reference something that has happened, or will happen in the future, in their other MVs. In "Rover" we also see him taking on different identities. It depicts the different identities or sides of his personality -- Kai the sexy, over confident on stage personality -- powerful hip-hop dancer -- or Kim JongIn the elegant, ballet dancer, etc. As the main dancer of EXO, Kai is literally one of the top two best dancers in Kpop. And that's not just a fan's opinion, but it's a title given to him by his peers and the the industry as a whole. (Taemin from SHINee -- who happens to be Kai's best friend since trainee days, and is a fellow member of SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) There is literally no one better when it comes to dance in the Kpop industry than Kai and Taemin. Kai's love for dance started with jazz and ballet. From a young age, he began training to become a ballet dancer. So he learned form and technique first before any other style of dance. That's why I think you can see such precision in his dancing. As a child, he fell in love with dancing after seeing the Nutcracker and he told his parents that he wanted to do that. So, his whole foundation with dance began with ballet. He says, that if he hadn't been bribed by his father to audition for SM Entertainment, and if he hadn't become a Kpop star, he probably would be a professional ballarino today. Kai became a trainee with SM when he was about 12 -- he debuted as a member of EXO when he was around 18 -- so he has been honing his skills and dedicating himself to become one of the best in the industry for years. And now, at 29, he has literally been recognized as one of the best of the best. Also as a member of EXO, as part of their storyline, it is thought that the EXO members are supposed to be going about their tasks incognito, which means that in order to keep a low profile Kai probably needs to take on many different identities as he travels across time and space, through different points in history or to different dimensions, etc. Fun fact: If you pay attention to some of the names he chooses for his aliases in this MV, one of the names is Elliot Billy, which is pretty clearly a reference to the well known ballet movie Billy Elliot, which Kai has said influenced his love of ballet. And of course, the red light is most likely supposed to represent something to do with the Red Force, which is the evil being or group in EXO's storyline who the EXO members are fighting against. Therefore, it is thought either, Kai is being controlled by the Red Force in those scenes, or maybe this whole MV is depicting X-EXO Kai, which is Kai's alter ego clone that has been created by the Red Force. Also keep in mind, that in EXO's concept blue is supposed to represent EXO as a way to distinguish between EXO and X-EXO. Things that are blue are thought to symbolize EXO or show when EXO has the upper hand. Therefore, in the scenes where you see blue this could be showing the EXO version of Kai. And in the scenes where we see blue and red together, or purple colors -- blue and red mixed together make purple -- this could be showing how EXO and X-EXO, or EXO and the Red Force, are battling for control or are in conflict, etc. Yet again, just another example of how EXO's and SM's Universe is extremely complicated and complex. The thing is, none of us really know exactly what is happening in the story, it's all just fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed or denied any of our theories and they have left it completely up to fans to figure out what is happening and to create the story. (We only hope that someday SM will release the book or produce a movie that will explain the whole story, so we will know whether any part of our theories were correct.) "Rover" is the title track on Kai's third mini album. There are 6 songs on this album. Kai's "Rover" is actually a remix and I think the style can be considered reggaeton based, which is a music genre with reggae and Puerto Rican/Latin influences. If you want a sample of the other songs on this album check out his "Film: Kai #Rover," which, like his previous two albums, is a sample of all the songs on his Rover album. "(In his Rover film you will see other scenes where he looks like he has been in a fight, which could possibly be connected to his "Rover" storyline.) Kai is a fashion icon and he is highly sought after by some of he biggest names and brands in fashion to be their model and brand ambassador, etc. Kai had a hand in styling this whole MV. Therefore, I'm sure that everything he wore was expertly selected from some of the top fashion brands. And the MV was specifically styled to represent his designer model status. As you can see, he is also considered one of the sexiest Kpop idols, and he is known for his super sexy onstage personality, which is why you often see him shirtless or wearing crop tops when he is performing. However, if you really get to know him, you will see that when not on stage he is almost the complete opposite of what you see here. He is actually soft spoken, cutely innocent and pretty shy in real life.

Baekhyun's 4th solo album and title track is called "Bambi" for multiple reasons. One reason is because one of Baekhyun's nicknames he has been given by some of his fans is Bambi. Fans say he looks cute like a doe-eyed deer. This album is meant to be a gift for fans because he was about to enlisting in the military and he wanted to give us something to keep us company while he was away for 18 months serving his country. (He has now returned from the military and it was just announced that EXO will be having a comeback in a month or so.) However, the song is more about the fact that Bambi refers to "night rain" as you see he talks about in the lyrics -- it's a play on words in Korean -- Bam as in night and bi as in rain. And in English, Bambi refers to a woman with long legs -- and that is where the name for the Disney character comes from -- which is also the nickname of the character/woman Baekhyun is talking about in the song. :D However, the song has very little, if anything, to do with the Disney movie -- the cute little deer with the same name, isn't really even connected to the song. (In western pop culture the name Bambi is given to female characters in novels and movies because it is used as a metaphor for her sexual appeal and appearance. That is why Disney chose that name for the deer in their story because it was a play on the fact that Bambi has long legs and big doe-eyes like a voluptuous woman. :D So Baekhyun is not talking about a deer in the song, but he is using it as a nickname for the woman he is singing about.) As a member of EXO, Baekhyun's superpower is the ability to control light. So, it is thought that what you see happening in the tunnel isn't supposed to be fireworks, but it's supposed to be the explosion of light bulbs, etc. because his passion -- as manifested through his epic high note -- makes him lose control of his powers, etc. I think Tinkerbell in the lyrics is supposed to be a reference to the fact that she is a little fairy that is often represented by the twinkle of light, which is also a metaphor for how he sees the woman he is singing about. Like a fairy, the woman lights up his life. Which, if you want to connect it to EXO's storyline, also could be a reference to the heart of the Tree of Life, as well as EXO's fans, EXO-Ls. (EXO has a song called "Peter Pan," where it can be interpreted as the EXO members are Peter and EXO-Ls are TInkerbell.) The woman in EXO's songs is often thought to be a metaphor and physical representation of the Tree of Life. That is why the members are always trying to save the girl or protect her, or they talk about being controlled by the power of the woman or they are worried about their passion destroying her, etc. It's EXO's job to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force. EXO was sent to Earth on a mission to finding the two halves of the tree and reuniting them in order to restore peace in the world. The two halves of the tree -- EXO-K (Korean) represents one half and EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) represents the other half -- were originally separated in order to keep the Red Force from gaining control. However, now, in order to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, EXO needs to defeat the Red Force and find where the two halves of the tree have been hidden. So on that note, I think that the train theme is somehow connected to SuperM's/EXO's storyline, however, I am not sure how yet. All I know is that, we see SuperM in a subway train in their "100" MV, we see aespa also in a subway train in their debut "Black Mamba" MV and we see SHINee in an old train station in their "Don't Call Me" MV. We even see Kai on train tracks in his "Film: Kai" solo debut teaser video during his "Amnesia" section of the video and people on a subway train platform as it transitions to his song "Mmmh." And before that we saw Key from SHINee in a subway train in his solo debut song "One of Those Nights." And if we go back even further, you see EXO on train tracks in their "Love Me Right" MV and EXO-CBX (which Baekhyun is also a member of) on train tracks in their "Horololo" MV, etc. And because Baekhyun is the leader of SuperM and a member of EXO, that usually means it's connected to SM's Universe. Fun fact: Baekhyun isn't even part of the dance line in EXO. However, as you can see, he has now become one of the members who is recognized for his dancing, as well as his vocals. And the EXO members say, he is the quickest out of all of them to memorize the choreography.

The story in Lay's "Lit" MV, he said, is based on his favorite Chinese historical figure. In the MV he is portraying a Chinese general who has been trapped by the Han soldiers while trying to rescue his wife. The general is a real historical figure named Xiang Yu, who fought in the battle of Gaixia. In the beginning of the MV you hear a Peking opera singer performing “The Song of Gaixia” (A traditional Chinese Opera song), which is a song that Xiang Yu composed for his wife, Lady Yu, who eventually took her own life. (Fun fact: In Lay's song "Jade," which is a song also on this album, the story is supposed to be about Lady Yu and Xiang Yu's love story.) The dancer with the long nails is a traditional Chinese dance style, and I believe it is also part of the Chinese opera performance. Lay is an ambassador for China, so one of his goals is to share Chinese culture with the world. One way he is doing this is by creating his own style of music, which he has labeled M-pop. M-Pop stands for Mixed-pop, which means he mixes traditional Chinese elements and sounds with mainstream pop and hip-hop beats and styles -- combining old school Chinese culture with new modern hip-hop and contemporary beats and styles. As he says in "Lit," "I am the King ... bringing China to the world." And that's pretty much a fact: He has king-maker status in the music and entertainment industry and he has a lot of international influence, which allows him to bring Chinese culture to the world. Everything about this song and MV is a poetic, cinematic masterpiece. For example, the word Lotus in Chinese sounds a little like Lit in English. (Another play on words, just like the Chinese pronunciation of Jade sounds like Yu, or you in English, which Lay cleverly used in his song "Jade." Get it? Jade = Yu and Jade = you.) Lay used lotus (Lit) as a metaphor for no matter how hard people try to bring him down, he will stand strong and survive through anything the world throws at him, like a lotus flower. The Lotus often represents purity. The Lotus is special because it grows in the mud, but out of the most dirty and unforgiving conditions, blooms one of the most beautiful flowers. The Lotus is a famous symbol in Chinese culture and it often represents how something good and pure can grow and triumph despite what you would think are harsh conditions. Lay has said that the idea for "Lit" comes from the fact that his haters have been calling him "White Lotus," which refers to someone who acts innocent, and uses it for his gain and plays the victim all the time. So when he wrote the song he took that negativity and embraced it and turned it into something positive. So, in other words, he is saying: "You thought you could bring me down, but you are wrong. I am not a fake white lotus, but I am a true lotus who is LIT. I am more powerful than you know and I will rise above all your negativity and show you how I grow even stronger and more beautiful no matter how much mud and dirt I have to go through," etc. The dragon is a very powerful symbol in Chinese culture, and it is even said that if you are Chinese you are a descendant of the dragon. Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize vitality, strength and good luck. In one interview I read, Lay also talked about how he has two dragons inside him -- a good dragon and a bad dragon. He said he always chooses to listen to the good dragon. The good dragon is the one who is protecting him and helping him through all his hardships and difficult times. So the main theme of "Lit" is about fighting his inner self and learning to ignore and overcome the people who are trying to knock him down. As you have discovered, Lay is is a singer, rapper, songwriter, composer, producer actor, director, editor, dancer, designer, etc. -- genius -- and with every new release of his, he just one ups himself. And "Lit" is a prime example of that. (And yes, a member of EXO.) If you take the time to read the credits at the end of this video, you will see this MV was produced by Zhangyixing Studios, which is named after Lay (Zhang Yixing is Lay's real name, Lay is a stage name given to him by SM Entertainment) -- he owns the studio. So, the credits show, Lay has his hand in almost every aspect of this production. It's his name you will see dozens of times in the credits. He is the one that wrote and composed the song, as well as the beat. He is also executive producer (So, this production was all financed by him), he came up with the storyline, he helped choreograph and he helped direct the MV, etc. This MV took more than 6 months to make and more than $1.4 million to produce. And it was all done by Lay. They actually filmed at one of the largest and most well known film studios in China and had more than 50 extras. What you saw was the real temple. The dragon was CGI, but the rest of the set is all real. You should check out the making of film, kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpCuZGykqah4jtk, and Lay's "dance practice"/choreography video for "Lit," kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4rIl6xsntxjd9U, to really see how things were made. Within the Chinese music industry and dance community, Lay is regarded as an industry expert that pretty much all other dancers and musicians look up to -- he is one of EXO's main dancers. He has even been credited with making Krump a mainstream dance style in China, and he is one of China's leading experts when it comes to Krump. (Lay's Krump teacher is Trix who is from Korea and is considered one of the best Krumpers in the industry.) Lay's dancers are always very international, they are usually from all over the world, all races and genders and they speak all different languages. Lay's goal is always to seek out the best of the best and to surround himself with experts in everything he does. He wants to learn as much as possible and to be as diverse as possible about all styles of dance and cultures. And he doesn't just casually learn a new style of dance, when Lay puts his mind to something he goes all in and immerses himself in it with a goal of becoming the best at it. That is why he is regarded as an expert at so many different things, because he becomes so involved and studies and practices so much that he eventually surpasses his teachers.

Although the concept for "Jopping," as far as the song lyrics, is kind of wild and far out there, if you follow SM's SM Culture Universe storyline, you will see that this debut was designed for a very specific reason. The concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group. Just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup. I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. As you may know, the members of EXO are all supposed to be aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them -- you see Kai teleport at the beginning of "Jopping" and you see Baekhyun using his light power as the car speeds away, etc. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other SuperM members. (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser trailer videos, which were originally released leading up to the release of their debut.) Therefore, I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXOs storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop the Red Force from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their stories and concepts and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM Entertaiment doing the same thing with SuperM. Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that, for example, NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs is called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans. SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers. If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with their MV for "Moonwalk" and I think the story in their "Moonwalk" MV is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" and "Kick Back" MVs are also part of that story. There are parts of several of WayV's MVs, such as "Moonwalk," where it looks as though Ten and Lucas are there to gather the members to bring them into the battle, and in "Turn Back Time" it looks like the WayV members are all beat up like they have been in a fight, which means they could have been in a battle with the Red Force, etc. To help explain, I think EXO, as members of SuperM, are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO. If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys. Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force. So on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third and fourth generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. Even though SHINee are second gen., the members actually are around the same age as the members of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. And now I see connections being made with SHINee's "Don't Call Me" and "Atlantis" MVs, as well as all of aespa's MVs and many of NCT's MV -- including NCT-127's "Save" MV, etc.-- and even SM's older groups, such as Kangta's "Free To Fly" MV, Super Junior's "House Party" MV and Max Changmin from TVXQ's solo "Devil" MV, etc. It is becoming clear that SM is designing the SM Universe to include all of its groups and it is tying all of their storylines together. For instance, if you watch SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV you will see the SHINee members at one point go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all standing together in all black outfits. This looks very similar to the scene in "Jopping" when the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of the MV as they are teleported or travel through the wormhole. So, it looks like maybe SHINee are preparing to eventually join in the fight as well. It's all part of SM's SM Culture Universe storyline. To understand the story and concept behind "Jopping" and to get to know the members better, if you haven't already, you should watch the behind the scenes/making of video called "SuperM: The Story of Jopping." It's an official video on SuperM's KZbin channel. It's one of the best behind the scenes Kpop MV shooting videos I have watched and it really helps to explain the concept and story behind the song and the group. It's well worth the 30-plus minute video. Please check it out, even if you don't react to it. :D If you follow EXO's concept and storyline even a little, you know that SM doesn't do anything halfway. When they come up with a concept for a group they go all in and even the most minute of details are used to tell that story. SuperM is specifically designed to try to help SM grab even more of the U.S. market. That is why their debut and all of their promotions were focused in the U.S. If you notice, SuperM starts with S and ends with M -- SM. The stadium/coliseum scenes in "Jopping" were all filmed in Korea on a soundstage. But all the outdoor scenes were filmed in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. So the desert and that cityscape were in Dubai -- it was all filmed live on location. And all those vehicles you see in the MV are real vehicles. Kai rode in the helicopter and Ten and Lucas filmed on that tank, etc. The scenes where you saw them driving the vehicles were in Dubai. They were drove by stuntmen, but they were all real working vehicles. Just wait until you see them perform live at their debut concert at Capitol Records in California, you will be even more blown away. There are no "main" positions in SuperM because they are all the "main" positions -- Baekhyun is a main vocalist and Kai is a main dancer in EXO, Taemin is a main vocalist and main dancer in SHINee, Taeyong and Mark are main rappers and main dancers in NCT and Ten is a main dancer, who could easily be a main vocalist and Lucas is a the main visual of WayV. That is one of the reasons why they were selected to become members of SuperM. SuperM is designed to showcase Kpop's top talent and to introduce Kpop to the mainstream public. SM's goal is to use SuperM to appeal to more than just Kpop fans. Hence why their songs are mostly in English and why they debuted in the U.S. in collaboration with Capitol Records in California.

This was an AMAZING explanation thank you so much for taking the time to break down the universal storyline. I know alot of Kpop groups and labels have their own lore. It is deep and can be confusing this was fire.

"Tiger Inside" was a pre-release track from SuperM's first full length album Super One released in 2020. This year will be SuperM's 4th anniversary, and SM has promised they will be having a comeback this year now that Baekhyun and Taemin are discharged from the military. (And probably after SHINee and EXO have a comeback and even maybe after Taemin and Baekhyun have solo comebacks, so my guess is it won't be until late in the year, maybe right before Kai enlists.) I think that the "Tiger Inside" MV may be connected to EXO's "Wolf" MV. In "Wolf" we see that EXO are a wolf pack that is dressed in all white and they are inside an all white den or cave, just like the SuperM members who are dressed in all white and are in a white cave/the tigers lair in "Tiger Inside." And in "Wolf" the choreography was designed to make the EXO members look like they are wolves or beasts, where in "Tiger Inside" the choreography was also designed to make them look like beasts or tigers. Fun fact: That breakout dance move with Taeyong and Mark in the choreography, doesn't just go along with the beat, but when you watch the dance practice you will see it's supposed to be Taeyong trying to assert his dominance and battle with Mark. Taeyong elbows Mark in the head, which causes him to stumble, then Taeyong pushes him away with his hand (i.e. paw), which causes Mark to spin around to face Taeyong and then Taeyong raises his claws above his head and strikes out at Mark to cause Mark to step away, etc. I think they are supposed to look like tigers preparing for battle with the Red Force, so they are practicing their fighting skills. So, because of this, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines -- and now their 4th gen groups with the introduction of aespa -- are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connections between the groups. And that includes SuperM, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa, and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. Even though SHINee are second generation, the members actually fit within the age group of third generation group members, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. However, no one really knows what is happening for sure in SM's Universe storyline. It's all fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed nor denied any of our theories and they have never explained anything. They have left it up to the fans to interpret the story and connect the pieces. And what makes this even more difficult is the story isn't being told in chronological order, so as fans you have to pay attention to everything and remember what you have seen and heard in previous content in order to decide where each piece fits within the larger storyline. And it's not just MVs, but it's with everything they do including teaser videos, concert VCRs (short videos played at concerts in between sets), live performances, song lyrics, online content released by SM, special extras included when you purchase an album, etc. It's super complex and all encompassing.

As other's have mentioned, "Danger" is Taemin's first single off his solo debut album Ace from 2014, so this was Taemin when he was 21 years old. If you think he was amazing in the MV, just wait until you see it live. You need to see him perform "Danger" at SHINee's SHINee World Concert 2014 in Japan, kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3-xfmecnZyYoaM. Taemin has been a solo artist for almost exactly half his career. He was one of the very first SM artists who was still part of an active group to go solo. Yet another thing that SHINee became the first in. Just think, he went from being made fun of because he couldn't sing, to becoming one of the top male solo artists that is considered the blueprint for what it takes to be a successful artist. And he did it all at such a young age that he was still among one of the youngest solo artist to debut at the time. As you can see from "Danger," Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson for a reason. The concept for "Danger" was supposed to give you that MJ feel. That's why this was his debut single instead of the album's title track "Ace." Michael Jackson has been one of Taemin's idols since he was a little boy. Believe me, it is not lost on him, SM or, least of all, fans, that he dances like Michael Jackson. But that's not the only reason why he is considered the Korean MJ. Taemin just has something special and his whole aura and being on stage radiates awe inspiring magnificence. He just embodies what it means to be a performer, similar to what made MJ so unique, special and legendary. If you want to really see Taemin pay tribute to Michael Jackson, just search "Taemin and Michael Jackson" or "SHINee and Michael Jackson" on KZbin. There are several clips of multiple performances where Taemin and SHINee have performed tribute dances and participated in performances with Michael Jackson songs. This dance was choreographed by Ian Eastwood, a well known young American choreographer, who I believe is right around the same age as Taemin -- this was Ian's first Kpop collaboration -- and I am sure he choreographed this dance to fit Taemin's natural dance-style not the other way around. Taemin did not just learn this choreography he merely perfected it LOL. If you enjoyed Taemin's dancing, you should check out his dance practice video for "Danger", you will get to see Ian actually teaching a little of the choreography and Taemin and him dancing together. Also, check out an interview with Ian on Steezy's KZbin Channel, "SHINee Choreographer Reacts to Taemin, SHINee ...", to hear what it was like working on this choreography and how impressive he thinks Taemin and SHINee are, etc. He says when he was designing this dance SM kept coming back to him asking him to make it more difficult, and he was afraid because he wasn't sure Taemin would be able to sing and pull of the moves. However, he had no idea how skilled he really was. However, as you are starting to discover, the way Taemin dances is just the way he moves. His movements are effortless. The more you watch Taemin dance, you will see that no matter who choreographs the dance, it will always be uniquely Taemin. Many choreographers who have worked with him over the years have said that, with Taemin you can't help but allow him to move in whatever way his body takes him. Taemin is art in every sense of the word. :D "Danger" is timeless. That's kind of what SHINee is known for. As SM's experimental boy group SHINee are trendsetters and trail blazers. They are expected to create songs with styles and sounds that have never been seen or heard before and yet have a timeless appeal. (Just look at SHINee's debut song "Replay," which is considered one of the best debut songs of all time because it's so timeless that it never goes out of style.) And that even translates to the members solo work. That is what makes SHINee so popular and why they are still one of the top groups and artists in the industry even after almost 15 years. And, as the other members of SHINee say, "Taemin can wear anything and pull off any look and it always looks good on him."

Fun fact: That's not just any female dancer in Taemin's "Want" MV. The girl you see highlighted in the shadows is Yoo JiMin (Karina) who is the leader and main dancer of aespa. She participated in this song as a rookie trainee even before aespa's debut. ("Want" was released in February 2019 and aespa didn't debut until November 2020.) She also participated in some of his live comeback stage performances and you can see her in Taemin's dance practice video. Taemin's "Want" is one of those songs that the lyrics take the song and performance up to the next level. :D The lyrics give the song and performance a whole other feel and it helps to explain the images and story you see being told in the MV. Many people think that "Want" has a vampire vibe, and I can see where some might get the vampire feel from this MV. After all, one of Taemin's nicknames is SHINee's eternal vampire because in some performances and MVs, the way he looks and the aesthetic of the performance gives him a vampire image. However, in "Want" Taemin is supposed to be portraying Lucifer. That's why he seems to have a love affair with those snakes. (The ones he is holding are real snakes.) And, like Lucifer, he is supposed to be seducing the audience and the girl using his devilish powers, which is why the choreography looks like he is slithering like a snake. Taemin is Catholic, and most of his MVs showcase his faith as it tells the story using numerous Biblical references. The style and aesthetic in "Want" is just the kind of vibe we have all come to expect from Taemin. He has a very sensual/sexy way of moving and, as a soloist, it's kind of his signature thing. That is why all his songs are titles such as "Danger," "Soldier" "Sexuality," "Tiger," "Press Your Number," "Guess Who," "Mystery Lover," "Hypnosis," "Crazy 4 U," "Flame of Love," " Under My Skin," "Thirsty," "Want," "Criminal," etc. or "Ace," "Already", "Door, "Pretty Boy," "Move" "Artistic Groove," "Famous," "Idea," etc. Each song is meant to show you exactly why he is one of the best in the industry even just by their titles. I find it interesting that all of his songs, with the titles alone, tell you exactly what Taemin is all about. If you look at all the titles of his songs, you will see that the titles convey one of two things about him, either painting a picture of his sexy and sensual onstage personality, or they explain his dedication and passion as an artist. If you like his dancing in the MV, you have to see his "Want" dance practice video to really understand how intricate and breathtaking Taemin is with this choreography. No one moves the way Taemin does. Taemin is very unique and never does the same thing twice, he is constantly switching up his sound and dance style. However, you will see that it will always be very Taemin-like. Many choreographers who have worked with him over the years have said that, with Taemin you can't help but allow him to move in whatever way his body takes him. Taemin is art in every sense of the word. :D Taemin started when he was a child by copying dancers that he saw on TV such as Michael Jackson and Kpop star Bi Rain. And he didn't have any formal training until he joined SM. As trainees, SM originally planned to make SHINee a hip-hop group, so Taemin's dance training started out focusing on hip-hop dance styles like popping and locking. However, over the years, he has devoted himself to learning every style of dance. Now he is considered one of the top two best dancers. (EXO's Kai -- who happens to be Taemin's best friend since trainee days and is a fellow member of SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) Taemin is literally the artist that everyone within the Kpop industry looks up to and respects. He debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 at the age of 14 and he became one of the very first SM idols who is part of a active group to start a solo career way back in 2014 when he was only 21 years old. Now he is one of the most popular male solo artist who is considered the blueprint for what it takes to be a successful solo artist, as well as a member of the legendary group SHINee. Taemin has released at least one song or album -- most of the time way more than just one -- as part of SHINee, as a member of a project group, as a solo artist or as a member of SuperM every year since SHINee's debut. He has debuted in 3 Kpop generations -- second gen. with SHINee, third gen. as a solo artist and 4th gen. as a member of SuperM -- and yet he is the same age or younger than most 3rd and even some 4th gen idols.

Thanks so much for your reactions! I had the opportunity to see SuperM live in Dallas, and they are absolutely amazing! I'll make a few suggestions that I think you'll enjoy: SuperM "We Do" (fun, retro vibe), NCT 127 "Superhuman" (AND dance practice), and Taeyong's "Ghost" (a work of art)! Edit: Wait! I think I remember you reacting to "Ghost." Something is wrong with my KZbin account or something because now, I can't see that reaction at all. It makes me wonder what else I'm not seeing. Well, if you've already heard the three songs above, I'll recommend three replacements, just in case. Hopefully, you are even seeing my comments. Try SuperM "No Manners" (and live stage), NCT 127 "Favorite" (with dance practice--one of my favorites--no pun intended) or "Baby Don't Like It" (with live performance), and Taeyong's "Lonely" performance video.

This song was highly controversial but won NCT 127 the Daesang Award, Korea's highest music honor. I don't think people had heard anything quite like this before and didn't know what to think of it; it was just a bit too NEO for some people. I personally love how experimental it is! I've heard of several people who initially hated it and ended up loving it. And yes, visually, the MV is stunning!

I love how experimental it is too! I remember when it first came out, there was so much hate towards the song and I never understood it because it's such a catchy song especially the chorus which nct always slays! Maybe I just have a very open mind for music, but I loved it at first listen. You don't hear many experimental songs like that very often so it's a nice reset and something new which is never a bad thing.

This song really LAUNCHED 127! Everyone in the Kpop world was dancing to it! The great thing about NCT 127 is that you will always be surprised. It's what makes them so fun for me. Even if one thing isn't your cup of tea, something else will be EXACTLY what you want. It's always interesting to see which songs hit for different people, and it's often not the same. I will also say this: the more you listen to their songs, the more you start to love them.

Just yesterday, I was asking myself, "I wonder what happened to Sushi and Popcorn; I really enjoyed the reactions." I just watched your SuperM "Tiger Inside" reaction before this and realized that I wasn't subscribed. I could've sworn that I was, so Idk what happened. Well, I've subscribed again, and it looks like I've got some catching up to do. Btw, NCT's debut "The 7th Sense" was in 2016 but wasn't released on an album until the 2018 Empathy Album with "Baby Don't Stop," so the songs are actually two years apart. I highly recommend some live stages of "Baby Don't Stop"; Taeyong and Ten are just so good!
