Mine had the limp come on and was an easy fix. I now have 309000 miles on it. The only real problem I have had is the glow plugs on the Mercedes engine which was what the 2007 and 2008 have in them.

August 2024, I've had 2 of these quit on me in only 5 months, one lasted only 20 MINUTES! They are junk! Edlebrock, Summit, Holley, same "micropump" junk. Call em up and the FIRST thing they will say is "remember it's under warranty" Yeah, they know they're junk. If you're the proud owner of one that actually works- don't be, its going to leave you on the side of the road, and not long from now. Holley red/blue vane pumps are big and noisy- and expensive, but they WORK!

The info is a little off. The vulcan is the only 3.0 used since the 80's and they changed head bolt length and TTY bolts in the years you mentioned. They also switched to 7mm valve stems and conical springs. Other than the basic info this is a really great video so I don't mean to criticize, just correct.

Too bad it didn't work out for you. I enjoy diesels. We have a Ram 1500 3.0L and a Ram 2500 6.7L. Both are nice vehicles. But I have driven pickups and SUV's that people put in 4 cylinder diesels. They worked out great. I do have a '96 Jeep ZJ, that may get a Cummins R2.8L and a ZF 8-speed transmission next year. I really liked the ZJ until I bought a '23 Jeep Wrangler JLU with the 3.6L and ZF 8-speed transmission. I bought the Wrangler for my wife to be able to park in parking garages. Because once we added a 4Wheel Camper to her Ram 2500. She had trouble making doctors appointments on time because of parking issues.
