Be mindful that Marceau lived through the horror Nazi-occupied Vichy France in WW2. He and his family are Jewish and suffered at the hands of the persecutors.

One of my favorite skits by the Master ❤
@vickieevenson9309Ай бұрын
For those of you that had a hard time understanding what he was doing, as an artist myself, this is what I see: He comes and he sets up his easel, trying to get it to the right height. He then places the canvas on the easel and he's trying to angle it just right in accordance to the scenery that he is about to paint. He then holds his hands up to the scenery that he's going to paint and sections It off with his hands. Maybe he's only going to paint a portion of the scenery. He then gets his pallet and starts putting paints on. After he gets the paints he wants on the pallet, he mixes the paint. Then he goes into a vigorous array of brush strokes. When he is done for the day he rolls up the canvas, folds up the easel and walks away. That's all. You need to remember that these skits were usually performed in front of a large audience and on stage to where actions had to be more exaggerated so everyone was able to see what the performer was doing. It's one of the differences between theater and film.
