When Chance got shot, I genuinely reacted without the slightest bit of surprise. This isn't to criticize the movie for being boring or predictable; in fact, to me, it was just about keeping the script grounded in reality. The overarching theme behind Chance was he was an adrenaline junky, taking bigger and bigger risks, so it seemed only apropos that he got killed off. To me, if he hadn't gotten shot where he got shot, he was almost destined to die soon enough in another reckless way. But maybe part of that is also that I came to despise Chance. I don't see the redeeming qualities you do. By the end of the movie, he was just as much of a villain as Masters, so the two of them going down was, in some sense, the happiest ending possible. (Well, aside from the implication that the poor girl would continue to be blackmailed and exploited by Vukovich.) Another thing worth noting/disliking about Chance: he was terrible at his job. He let the attorney get murdered while he was doing surveillance on him (arguably more Vukovich's fault); he was incredibly gullible when he let Cody escape from him in protective custody; he was constantly bamboozled and two steps behind Masters. Pretty much messed up royally at every step of the way.

Along these same lines, I didn't care for the car chase too much. When Chance decided to rob the diamond courier for insanely stupid and nonsensical reasons, got him killed, I was completely done with rooting for Chance (even before learning that the courier was an undercover FBI agent). Without anybody to root for, I just felt queasy watching a protracted scene of the most egotistical douchebag almost kill everybody in his path. Still liked the movie overall though.

I saw the movie last night, and while it wasn't Coppola's best, it was pretty interesting. I think the movie suffers a lot from bad visual effects and some clunky dialogue, and I think Coppola overexplains the metaphor he's going for. But I felt like I watched actual cinema and was grateful for it.

I think what bothered me the most in Romulus were how amazingly slow, none threatening and lethargic the actual aliens were. It was almost comic having the quick shots of the aliens hissing and the teeth darting out, and then seeing the lumbering slumps slowly walking down the hallway trying to be menacing, it just failed on every level. I would try and defend it saying I liked the opening, I thought the facehuggers were well done, I liked Andy, but overall, it went south real quick. Stupid characters, too many throwbacks, horrible writing, it's a shame.

If you remove joker bias, joker 2 is actually an excellent patient movie. Even The Dark Knight trilogy or any live-action adaptations disrespected and ruined Batman's character and Make it look way too stupid and less. But I still enjoy them as movies Even if they are terrible adaptations.

@@2301WAYNE terrible adaptations compared to what comics exactly?
@2301WAYNE16 күн бұрын
@@FirstnameLastname-my7bz No Matter which one, The Batman's main characteristics are missing and the ones portrayed are not done greatly. Even The Dark Knight triolgy is based on the following Batman Year One Batman The Long Halloween Batman Dark Victory The Dark Knight Returns Batman Knightfall In these Batman Comic Books stories are superior even so in the movies it's done for live-action easy purpose but that's alright the main problem Is How Batman's character portrayed in the Dark Knight Trilogy. It's completely, Ra's Al Ghul and Talia Al Ghul too, it's a shame because physically and facially Liam Lesson is perfect Ra's Al Ghul they really screwed up a personal Awesome Batman Villain. In The Dark Knight Rises he's supposed to be old Batman and as we see The Dark Knight Returns The Batman is way more brutal and way more unstoppable showing he held back in his prime days. In All The Dark Knight Trilogy the fight sequences Of Batman are completely ruined. You can see Batman changes atleast 136 different fighting styles swiftly in the movie he uses the same movie over and over again, what was the point of training as in the comic books like Batman The Knight and several others it's been shown Bruce Wayne travelled around the world and all the countries as a child and mastered all the techniques.I can forgive the first movie and Batman Begins as my favourite since it's the start and tries to do it good even with problems and it is the only movie where we see one Of Batman's characteristics Compassion when he meets Jack Gleeson as a child. Even though it should have done way better like how Batman interacts with Children in Batman Comic Books no matter which one you choose I can't believe they only made okay scene but alright atleast it's there. Other than that there are way too many like Batman being The greatest One Liner in comic book history and many other things as I have already stated too much in this, but the fact that there's even way more infinite things just shows how much far live-action are to capture Batman's character, I hope atleast we get it in 1000000 years if this is the place.

yeah i agree. i struggle with mental issues so i had a connection to the first joker movie. when i watched the second joker movie, i thought it was good. a little bit long-winded perhaps. not a lot happened, and musicals are just not for me. but as you described in the video, if you wanna enjoy this movie you have to think a little. which i guess is why not a lot of people liked it, and i understand that. not everyone wants to watch a movie thinking about all the themes and art and all that sappy philosophical and maybe even pretentious stuff. i would imagine the average viewer to appreciate the simpler things better, and as such, it is completely understandable to me that a lengthy musical like this would not be liked. especially after the set up from the first movie, people would expect character development and the "crown prince of crime" as you said in your video. the reality was that arthur fleck was just a guy with issues and the movie ran with that idea, building upon the first movie. he didn't change much from the first movie because he hasn't changed much during his whole life, even though i think he did change throughout the movies, if just a little bit. i think it could have been done better, but it is what it is. i cant really talk about it too much in detail because i have a terrible memory and i watched the movie like... 3 weeks ago just once. but overall i liked the movie.

You know, it was almost exactly what I expected when I heard it would be a musical and was SO much better than I hoped it would be. It is a BEAUTIFUL piece of cinema. Gary fucking Puddles: The tragedy of Arthur Fleck is how the coping mechanism of a mentally ill loner desperate to be seen severely damaged the only person in his life who ever truly saw and appreciated him. It might just be the bleakest tragedy ever put to celluloid. I couldn't possibly care less about all of the Batverse easter eggs, whether Arthur was THE Joker, or anything else mainstream or geek audiences are complaining about.

I was gonna watch this at some point regardless, but I will say I was more on the side of the fence of just waiting til it became free to watch due to seeing like 6 different channels dog it. Now watching your video I'm realizing they didn't really SAY anything. They all just complained about the musical aspects for 20-40 mins. So I think I'm gonna go ahead and actually rent it this weekend. With that said it's crazy that anyone complains of any Joker IP or thinks there's OTJ on true joker; if anyone knows anythif about the character he has had plenty of "origin" stories. That's the whole point he's chaotic, possibly psychotic, and more importantly an unreliable narrator. He's told Bruce Wayne he was the one who killed his parents in batman(89) The killing joke was an origin story; We're not SUPPOSE to have set story. Anyways loved this video and you helped solidify the thoughts I had on this movie without even having watched it yet

While I agree comic book continuity type nitpicking or pre established bias on what the movie 'should' have been aren't great criticism.... this video never really substantiated why it's 'good' either and hasn't swayed my opinion on it.

I made this vid more as a brief opinion vid to dissect some things I felt are going over a lot of people heads and just asking people to be open to watching it if they haven’t. I did say I think it’s a flawless movie and for someone who hates musicals to love it enough to watch it twice says something. I don’t need to convince anyone it’s good. with the extra context I did provide and asking audiences to push their minds a bit with their viewing experience do with that what you will 🤷♂️
