Pois é, já deu pra notar que João Alexandre é fã incondicional de Ivan Lins, né? e isso não é de hoje. Só nesta postagem já se vão 11 anos de abandono da música sacra para uma guinada feroz para a música 'mundana'. (ah, o João não gosta desta expressão). diz que não existe música mundana e toda música é a mesma coisa - Lambada, Samba.Pagode, Reggae, Funk, Rock, e até o Hip Hop, o João joga tudo em cima do altar, porque "Deus só vê o coração". Você concorda com isso? Eu, particularmente, acho que Deus merece o melhor.

Não conhecia essa versão maravilhosa que fizeram para a obra prima de Gilberto Gil: Toda Menina Baiana. Simplemente fantástica. A melodia dessa canção com esse arranjo proporcionou um sopro de novidade e vitalidade. Estou ouvindo sem parar. Salve Gil Black Gil

The story of how I discovered this song is interesting. I was walking down bell blvd in bayside queens. I bumped into three people i knew from brooklyn. We ended up playing a game of pool. We all decided to go to brooklyn and go to a bar/lounge type place around the east Williamsburg area. Im flirting with one of the girls in this bar/lounge and having some conversation and the DJ plays this song. I had to Shazam it. Was such and intriguing song. Loved it and I’m always looking for sounds that are new to me. My grandmother was born and raised in sao paolo, came to new york city when she was in her late teens in the 1930,s. I unfortunately don’t know much about the Brazilian culture because she died when i was young. I actually didn’t even know she was from brazil until i was around 30 years old. I could swear i felt a connection to this culture. I guess its in my dna. But this song is beautiful and that was an interesting night, I’m so glad i bumped into them and heard this song by accident. To me maybe the best part of that night was that i heard this song.
