I bought mine in March and love it. I also bought a fishman humbucker pickup and professionally installed a pin on the side of the neck to strap it. Pretty sure this will be my last acoustic guitar.

I had hoped for a long time that Robbie's 12 string could be found and returned to a playable condition. Great to meet Buck Curran the present custodian of the guitar and to celebrate the life of Steffen Basho-Junghans.

I played one , it looked well made and sounded good but I ended up getting a Yamaha FG 830 which to me sounded amazing and cost only $340 OTD .

By all means buy it, this guitar will just give. It's powerful and delicate. It's like a switcherland knife, many blades and tools.. This guitar will handle whatever you throw at it (soundwise) and it's also very durable. Prices are going up from these.

The old FG had 2 or 3 digits..plus a 1970s serial..Also its rumored the old model numbers were roughly the Selling price in Yen. (FG140, 140k yen)..

How did I not see this video earlier! So surreal seeing this legendary guitar in action in current days, very much hope the restoration project goes well. I do have one question though that's bugged me about this guitar. From hearing the original recordings, and the origin I believe being Mexican, does this mean it is a Bajo Sexto? Or is it somehow more complicated? Regardless, I look forward to this marvelous instrument being restored,

It might have started out as a Bajo Sexto but by the time Robbie Basho got it in the early 60s, the top had been smashed so he had a luthier put on a new spruce top.
