If you number the cylinders on a sbf the same way chevy does...its the same firing order

Nice! It has been a fun project. Those 300's are cool. My neighbor has one in his 80's F250 and we have talked about LS heads and a blower on the 300.

@Shortbedracing96 So womdering what is the benifits of swapping ls coils onto a 351w?? I have a 351w that ive been thinking about/starting to collect parts to increase the amount of horses shoved inside it also thinking about sticking a sushi slicer on it aswell..

I see it as a way to move away from the traditional distributor style spark. An individual coil per cylinder "should" allow for more consistent and stronger spark. Plus with the Holley Terminator I will be able to have more control over that spark.

Why on the valve covers? I see it all the time and all I can think is them acting like heat sinks lol.
@ShortBedRacing96

For me it was ease; I could have mounted them on the firewall; as I have plenty of space in the trucks engine bay. But by having them on the valve cover it is the same as a GM car or truck, allowing me to use GM factory spark plug wires. Being that I am building this truck for drag and drive events, being able to pull up to any auto parts store and buy a new coil, plug, or wire is going to be nice. As for the heat sink, I do not believe this will be an issue, but time will tell.

At that point it would be easier to put points and condenser on a small block Ford but never came with it

each Ls coil (and ignition module) is designed to run voltage for all 8 cylinders of a GM. how do you get the vehicle control module to effectively communicate its needs to said ignition coils and the modules are on there as well?

All of the factory Ford ignition control and ECU is coming out of the truck; something I am working on right now. The engine will then be controlled by a Holley Terminator X, with a Holley Dual Sync distributor and a MSD 6A. There is a way to use factory Ford stuff, like from a late model Explorer, but it can be tricky. I might try that approach on a Mustang I will be building this winter.

Control of the spark, better spark, and well I thought it would be fun. And as a chevy guy as well (who now owns mostly Fords) it gives me a little GM on my Ford.

I've got a similar Husky box and I've been kicking around the idea of getting those workpro organizers. Good to see they all fit in a drawer neatly like that

Getting ready to bring my US General box from my mom’s place to my own house and definitely need to organize my tools. Especially since everything will be going into my 10x20 shed so space for everything is a premium. Love the video! I’d love to get my hands on the Ares socket holders, I like what you did with the magnets. Just subscribed to the channel, hopefully you get a lot more subs soon! Looking forward to more content, good luck!
