florin is there too , and bireli playing only rhythm is very rare but perfect here , thank you !

This such a great trio. I love Kai Eckhardt, but the record they made on Verve with Dominique Dipiazza on electric bass, "Que Alegria" is a masterpiece and features some of the most beautiful electric bass playing ever recorded. Kai Eckhardt is a master too, and he plays on two of the funkier tracks on "que Alegria". If you love electric bass, check out john Mclaughlin's studio album with Dominique and Kai!

dangerous guitar solo. slick. nice. don't need to bother mentioning DeFrancesco. he was a deity with talent above & beyond. God bless'm may he rest in a nicer place.

Showcase for Elvin, I think, this one; I love his inscrutable linear placements of the big tom in his snare work and his propulsive-ride, keeping Joey's left hand honest. Most guitar-players would acknowledge that sounding bold over this joint at this type of tempo is tricky on an archtop, lol, as the sustain and volume, a la 'trane, just aren't there.. Thanks for post Peace

I think WES MONTGOMERY did it .....with the real energy and authority this piece deserves and ice on the cake a strong MELODIC flow ....which is so difficult to create on this modal structure with 2 chords . Elvin Jones is the most commited and is " at home " .
@doce76065 жыл бұрын
@@jean-lucbersou758 Yeah ! groovy. Lol, that's why I said; tricky....(but not impossible). I can agree with that. Wes' version recorded in Europe sees him really BUILD the solo, rather than just meander around with licks. peace

I thought Benson had no equal but i was wrong, when i discovered this guy i was so pleased to hear smooth Benson like licks. Everyone tries to emulate Benson but this guy is his own man. What a player!!

Bireli has been the best guitar player in the world for decades. Just listen to his stuff, he can play anything/everything. Benson has always been too much of a less tasty copy of Wes Montgomery for my taste.

Creo recordar que el tema era de Bill Evans y que apareció en el LP Kind of Blue de Miles Davis. La versión de Chet Baker también es maravillosa. I always thoght that Blue in Green was composed by Bill Evans and was first recorded in the Miles Davis's Album Kind of Blue. Chet Baker's version is also wonderful.

It's a brilliant song... a difficult song. I'm a bit suprised (as well as devilishly pleased) that one of my favorite groups couldn't make it work for much more than it is typically "worth". I think the song says something about that. That said, I think McL honored the song with some unique stuff which will last a long time to come.
