I too was disappointed with my IELTS speaking score of 7. Having taken the test with the British Council, I felt confident about my performance. During the speaking test, I answered all questions promptly without hesitation or pauses. In Part 3, when I attempted to elaborate on my responses, the examiner interrupted me with a 'thank you'.Despite feeling assured about my test, I was surprised to score only 7, whereas I had expected an 8 or higher. I find the IELTS marking criteria, particularly with the British Council, to be quite stringent.

I think this guy deserves a 6. Can someone explain why he got a 7.5?

the first problem that attracts me right during the part 1 is that she kept repeating the key words of the question in her answers, not using syn or any ways to replace these words. Unfortunately, it may send examiner the message that her knowledge of vocabulary is limited and not diverse enough

His English is natural. This is a really strong point in IELTS Speaking. If you guys are not convinced by the score. Please watch some mock tests with native speakers and you'll see some similarities between them and this guy.
