I took a class on this last semester and it is SO interesting. I don't think people realize that malingering is really hard to do. Pretending to be insane in order to dodge prison time isn't something that is easily done or done often. It was also really interesting to find out that our legal system gets to decide how long someone might need to be held in a mental health facility considering that is not where their expertise lies.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, there is quite a bit of evaluation that goes into it. That's why it really is not as common as it is sometimes portrayed in movies.
